My experience with Scottsdale Cat Clinic is a significant disappointment. My wife and I have been bringing our cat to SCC for years. We have spent thousands of dollars at this clinic as our cat has a number of hereditary problems and has developed Kidney Disease. We have adjusted his diet and fluids to do what we can to keep him as healthy and comfortable as possible. We even tried IV fluids to keep him hydrated as that is an issue with cats with Kidney Disease. IV fluids is something he will not tolerate. To keep an IV line in an uncooperative cat is a real challenge. Also, in the times we did that, fluid would collect in his chest area under his neck and it would hang down like a water bottle was under his skin. That would be absorbed over 24-48 hours, but gave him some discomfort aside from the way it looked. We love our cat as one of our family, but, we made the hard decision to give him palliative care and stop invasive, painful, and uncomfortable treatments on him. We believe that quality of life for him may be better than quantity and he is already 9 years old and a purebred Exotic Shorthair which don't have a long lifespan as it is. This was discussed with Dr. Karnia and she said she understood. Until recently, we continued to buy our cats dry food at SCC because it is made for renal care which should help him, and this food is technically a prescription food. Scottsdale Cat Clinic is now refusing to sell us this cat food any longer because we have not had our cat in the clinic in the last year. Clearly, this is an attempt to get office visit charges other than any legitimate reason to not sell us the same cat food we have been buying as Dr. Karnia was well aware that we were giving our cat palliative care. We are not trying to get drugs for our pet, just food and there should be no reason that we need to upset our otherwise happy and stable cat to take him for stressful uncomfortable visits to the clinic, which he hates by the way when we are not going to do anymore invasive uncomfortable treatments on him. I have tried to have this conversation with Dr. Karnia but she has refused to take my 4 calls to their office to discuss the matter of selling us food. I have only spoken to Tara at the reception desk who refused to sell us food and then a not nice call with their Practice Manager Scott Hermanson who refused to allow us to continue purchasing cat food. Still nothing from Dr. Karnia. I guess she is above responding to customers that have spent years and thousands of dollars with her clinic. So disappointed that $ seems to be what is important at SCC and not the true well being of our pets that we have entrusted them with. Will not recommend or ever take an animal to them again. What a shame!!!

I do apologize but my mother wrote a review here. You aren't familiar with the case because you harmed our cats to the point that you caused harm to our entire family. We had to have the rest of our family fly down after the tragedy of one of our cats. Taking advantage of senior citizens is heartbreaking. Hurting our family cats who are their grand children to the point of psychological trauma is horrific. It's not about the money at all because they did spend the money. We don't see a problem with letting students observe but they aren't vets. You lost a great client who dedicates their lives to helping strays off the street or people who can't afford care. In all our time in veterinary care, this clinic is the worst one of all. Also, no manager or any other person was the least bit interested at all in talking to any of us. This is a tragedy that is unforgivable. It was the good review that brought us in and now we know that we can't actually look at reviews at all. For all who find it important to look at reviews, only the negative ones matter. Your fees are outrageous but that's not even our biggest issue with you. Daughter of Mrs. W.

I went in with cats and although they said it would be expensive, they never said they would terrorize my cats. They thought it was okay for a student to do a full vet exam, over-react and ultimately cause harm to my cat. We've always taken great care of our animals and would have spent $10K if that's what it would take to get them better.
Sure, they rip you off. They charge over $3,000 for a dental and other vets charge $250. But it they practiced good and better medicine, I would have done it. My cat went into a deep depression and had to be put down and still don't know what they did to him in the back. We paid for quality care and it was a student who ultimately practiced on our beloved family member. The owner may have been good but I'll never know because she hired a complete quack of a veterinarian and trusted that quack to supervise a student who was even worse.

Any cat owner should always go to a veterinarian that specializes in cats. The knowledge and tailored care is incredibly helpful for your precious kitty. That being said Scottsdale Cat Clinic is the best of the best. The facility is completely made to make kitties feel comfortable. The entire staff is exceptional and welcoming. You can tell that cats are their passion and they will do anything to help. Personable and knowledgeable. I love Scottsdale Cat Clinic because they love, care for and listen to my kitty as much as I do! They are easy to get into for an appointment whenever you need one. Then from the moment you arrive they are thinking of your cat. When you walk in the atmosphere is calm, the welcome staff greets my cat by name. They have a candle in the front that they light if someone has recently had to put down a cat, indicating that guests should be quite in this hard time, and they have a very charming rescue welcome kitty. Then once you go back into the rooms there are climbing structures on the walls of the exam rooms, which are totally clean despite my cat leaving most of her hair behind each time we go. The staff is so friendly toward my cat and listens to her, gives her time to explore before starting their exam and listens to all my crazy cat mom concerns. They help with anything that has been going on with my kitty and help plan for any changes that might be coming in her life! Honestly I couldn't imagine a better vet for my sometimes anxious cat and am so thankful I found Scottsdale Cat Clinic!

Took my kitty Drake in for the first time recently. I've never seen a cat actually enjoy the vet and play the entire time. They had catnip, toys and tons for him to do. Even distracted him while getting shots and he didn't even care. They really go above and beyond and I've never been treated so well by a vet before this. The staff is kind, personable and always greet us with a smile. Dr. Karnia and Dr. Nelson are very knowledgeable and understanding. They focus on the kitties but never forget to consider their humans as well. Time is spent educating us at every visit. The clinic is spacious, visually appealing and kept very clean. Im really torn because although the staff is accommodating and friendly, they really push a bunch of unnecessary things on you. My cat was throwing up for 2 days in a row so a fellow cornish rex owner suggested getting his teeth looked at. I thought the $75 visit fee would be fine for peace of mind. $200 and a prescription thats made for dogs, a bag of "lite" treats that have all sorts of crap in them and some royal cannin food because "blue buffalo is horrible" later and Im thinking....what just happened? They gave him fluids and a vitamin b shot and he's totally looking better, which was what I ultimately wanted but the fluids would have been just fine. The vet stayed late to see me because I was 45 min late and I really appreciated them but I felt really pushed into getting dental work and blood work etc....really pushed....to the point where they almost make you feel like a bad pet owner if you dont. It was a bizarre experience to say the least.

I expect compassion, kindness, efficiency, excellent judgement, expertise, and that the practitioners stay abreast of research in feline medicine. I continue to be impressed with Scottsdale Cat Clinic, over the years. Karnia is excellent. If you have a cat this is the only place to take it for vet care. I have lived in Scottsdale for 3 years and have not had good experiences with the vets recommended by my neighbors and friends. The minute I set foot into Scottsdale Cat Clinic I knew I'd found the clinic for my elderly cats.
The front staff are so kind and friendly and are truly interested in your pets' well being. The vet assistants are very knowledgeable and through. They take time to listen to your cats history and your concerns. The vets are wonderful, since they specialize only in cats, they can almost tell just by looking what the cats issues are.
What most impressed me was they way they explained in detail the treatment plan and the costs associated with it. No surprises and no unnecessary treatments.
This is the most impressive, well run, competitive pricing and above all caring, vet clinic I've ever been to. If you have a cat this is the ONLY place you take them for their healthcare. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Best cat clinic in the valley.

This was my first time to Scottsdale Cat Clinic, I called first because my cat has been having issues urinating outside of her box and I didn't know if I was doing something wrong, or she had a medical issue. Tara answered the phone and really took her time with me, answering all of my questions and making me feel comfortable. It was due to her knowledge, thorough and calming manner that I made an appointment for a full exam, lab testing as well as a behavioral consult. The appointment was so thorough from start to finish. My cat was really calm. The facility was super nice, very calm, quiet, with lots of windows for my little feline to stare out (she loved that!) The PA and the doctor made the visit really easy on my cat (who doesn't like sitting on the table--they came to her on the floor at times) and incredibly comforting to me, nothing was rushed. So I really got all of my questions answered and a bunch of new information I didn't know I could do to improve my cats quality of life!
I honestly hope I won't have to go back soon (for my cat's sake), but if I do this place was hands down the best I've been to in the lifetime of my 10 year old cat.

I've been going to the Scottsdale Cat Clinic for a few years now. They have seen both my cats, and I've only had great experiences with them. The staff is super caring, especially Tara. The environment is clean, quiet, and perfect for timid cats..like mine. I have seen both vets; Dr Karnia and Dr Nelson. Both vets are kind and great with my cats. Katrina is an awesome vet tech and her passion for what she does radiates! I will continue to come here for my cats needs and I've already recommended this clinic to several people.

Always get a second opinion with this vet as they are trying to pay for their rent and mortgage with unnecessary surgery. Two vets from Scottsdale Cat Clinic displayed very unethical behavior. Go elsewhere. The Scottsdale address commands more $$$.

My 3 cats have been patients at The Scottsdale Cat Clinic for many years. They have been a God-send to me, as I went through the loss of one of my furbabies. I adopted others, and one had health problems. I now have 3 happy, healthy furbabies. Anytime one goes in, they are assessed and I am given a list of procedures the vet feels may be needed. Along with that are high-low costs. These are discussed and I can decide to do what I can afford. There is never any pressure. They follow up with phone calls to check on my furbaby.

Scottsdale Cat Clinic is absolutely fantastic! I've been a pet owner my entire life, and I've never had such a fabulous time with any vet's office. Each interaction was positive, unhurried, and informative- from the initial phone call to walking out after my kitten's first appointment. The atmosphere was calm, the space very clean, and everyone seemed genuinely happy to see us. Normally going to the vet is stressful, but this was downright pleasant. I certainly won't take me and my kitten anywhere else, and I recommend the same for you and yours!

I had to find a good diagnostician when my previous vet failed to diagnose or stop my beloved Millicent's weight loss. When we came to SCC, Millicent tested at Stage 3 Renal Disease. After 4 days of treatment with fluids & antibiotics, we got her down below Stage 3 and are maintaining her happily. Not the cheapest vet in the Valley but clearly the best at what they do! They say "hi" to my kitty when he comes in. Both Dr. K and Dr. B have been available to me by e-mail when I've had issues, and they've both been attentive about following up via phone after care.

He was in for a new patient visit and to get bloodwork/ongoing care for his kidney disease.When Wilbur's creatinine came back at 7, Dr. Karnia recommended continuing with fluids. Seriously? He also presented with high blood pressureCreatinine of 7 is pretty critical, especially considering his last level was around 3. No recommended treatment for his blood pressure, no diet recommendations and no advice to see a specialist. Nada.They even called months later to schedule a follow-up visit - as if he was just another cat coming in for a check-up. By that time he was seeing another vet and getting excellent care.The staff was amazing and if your cat is healthy, they might provide good care, but if your cat suffers from an illness - go elsewhere.

My interactions with veterinarians are limited. My family cat is a beautiful prissy princess who HATES the vet. It took us so many reschedules just to get her in a carrier that we just stopped trying. I know, I know, some of you owners out there are scoffing at this statement.. but hey~ Furbs is 15 years old and loving life. To each their own.So anywho, I can't speak to how experienced, knowledgable, or trustworthy the veterinarians are. We just took our newly adopted kitteh here for a basic check up. What I can say is that the staff was absolutely amazing to work with and I can't wait to take my kitten back. They were obsessed with him as soon as we walked in and what pet lover doesn't want to see another human fawn over their bebe (whether human or cat). Before we left, they surprised us with a HUGE gift basket full of toys, a cat bed, treats, and other goodies. Apparently one of their other patients won it and donated it back to the clinic to give to the next person who adopted a kitten. Lucky us, I guess. But they were so genuinely excited to give it to us! You can tell everyone really loves cats here and wants the best for their patients.Couldn't have asked for a better experience for Bear's first visit to the vet and we look forward to have them take care of him.

First, let me start off by saying that when I came across the Scottsdale Cat Clinic, I was not looking for a new vet. Id been going to the same vet hospital for 16 years; the service there was fantastic and the doctors were wonderful. Scottsdale Cat Clinic donated a basket to a charity event, and I won it. Part of the basket included a free visit, so I thought Id use the free visit voucher and then go back to my regular vet hospital. But after my first visit there, I knew Id be a lifelong client of Scottsdale Cat Clinic, and Ive now been a client there for a year. (I actually look forward to making appointments for my cats!) When you first get there, its peaceful, homey and welcoming perfect for a stressed out cat. And, because its a cat-only clinic, you dont need to worry about barking dogs. Youre greeted by Tara, Sara, Jillian and/or Katrina; you know their names and they know yours. After greeting you, they take you right in where Jillian or Katrina does the first part of the exam, both of whom do an amazing job. Next, youll meet either Dr. Karnia or Dr. Marschel. Ive seen both Drs. and couldnt be happier. Both of them are exceptional, knowledgeable, friendly and great with my cats. Im pleased with whichever doctor examines my cats, and Im glad that Dr. Marschel has joined the hospital (shes relatively new there). When you check out, you get a helpful report card that summarizes your cats health and exam. Additionally, the personal touches to these visits are awesome. After my first visit, I received a handwritten thank you card signed by everyone at the hospital. And when my kitten was neutered, Tara put together a get well bag for him. Outside the bag was my kittens name and picture and inside the bag was treats, toys and recovery information. And they do this type of stuff for every single client. I could go on and on about the hospital and staff and doctors. Really, I love this hospital. They treat you like family and Im so glad that I found them. I hope you take your cat there, too, because you will be in great hands.

I do not recommend this clinic. The main vet, Dr. Karnia, is very good. But then they hired another vet, Dr. Marschel, who is terrible. She was rough with my cat after making me wait 50 minutes because I was 5 minutes late for my cat's appointment. I complained vehemently at the time, and the staff discounted my visit since I had had such a terrible experience. Anyway, the next time I tried to book an appointment for my cat, with Dr. Karnia only, the "office manager" came on the phone and said that he would "give me an appointment this time" but that I was becoming a "problem client." This is clearly not very professional, nor is it people-friendly, and I will never return to this clinic again. They lost the business of me AND my two cats.

That having been said, when you first deal with the people at SCC, you know two things: They know their work, and they care about their patients. The entire environment exudes caring.

My experience with Scottsdale Cat Clinic is a significant disappointment. My wife and I have been bringing our cat to SCC for years. We have spent thousands of dollars at this clinic as our cat has a number of hereditary problems and has developed Kidney Disease. We have adjusted his diet and fluids to do what we can to keep him as healthy and comfortable as possible. We even tried IV fluids to keep him hydrated as that is an issue with cats with Kidney Disease. IV fluids is something he will not tolerate. To keep an IV line in an uncooperative cat is a real challenge. Also, in the times we did that, fluid would collect in his chest area under his neck and it would hang down like a water bottle was under his skin. That would be absorbed over 24-48 hours, but gave him some discomfort aside from the way it looked. We love our cat as one of our family, but, we made the hard decision to give him palliative care and stop invasive, painful, and uncomfortable treatments on him. We believe that quality of life for him may be better than quantity and he is already 9 years old and a purebred Exotic Shorthair which don't have a long lifespan as it is. This was discussed with Dr. Karnia and she said she understood. Until recently, we continued to buy our cats dry food at SCC because it is made for renal care which should help him, and this food is technically a prescription food. Scottsdale Cat Clinic is now refusing to sell us this cat food any longer because we have not had our cat in the clinic in the last year. Clearly, this is an attempt to get office visit charges other than any legitimate reason to not sell us the same cat food we have been buying as Dr. Karnia was well aware that we were giving our cat palliative care. We are not trying to get drugs for our pet, just food and there should be no reason that we need to upset our otherwise happy and stable cat to take him for stressful uncomfortable visits to the clinic, which he hates by the way when we are not going to do anymore invasive uncomfortable treatments on him. I have tried to have this conversation with Dr. Karnia but she has refused to take my 4 calls to their office to discuss the matter of selling us food. I have only spoken to Tara at the reception desk who refused to sell us food and then a not nice call with their Practice Manager Scott Hermanson who refused to allow us to continue purchasing cat food. Still nothing from Dr. Karnia. I guess she is above responding to customers that have spent years and thousands of dollars with her clinic. So disappointed that $ seems to be what is important at SCC and not the true well being of our pets that we have entrusted them with. Will not recommend or ever take an animal to them again. What a shame!!!

I do apologize but my mother wrote a review here. You aren't familiar with the case because you harmed our cats to the point that you caused harm to our entire family. We had to have the rest of our family fly down after the tragedy of one of our cats. Taking advantage of senior citizens is heartbreaking. Hurting our family cats who are their grand children to the point of psychological trauma is horrific. It's not about the money at all because they did spend the money. We don't see a problem with letting students observe but they aren't vets. You lost a great client who dedicates their lives to helping strays off the street or people who can't afford care. In all our time in veterinary care, this clinic is the worst one of all. Also, no manager or any other person was the least bit interested at all in talking to any of us. This is a tragedy that is unforgivable. It was the good review that brought us in and now we know that we can't actually look at reviews at all. For all who find it important to look at reviews, only the negative ones matter. Your fees are outrageous but that's not even our biggest issue with you. Daughter of Mrs. W.

I went in with cats and although they said it would be expensive, they never said they would terrorize my cats. They thought it was okay for a student to do a full vet exam, over-react and ultimately cause harm to my cat. We've always taken great care of our animals and would have spent $10K if that's what it would take to get them better.
Sure, they rip you off. They charge over $3,000 for a dental and other vets charge $250. But it they practiced good and better medicine, I would have done it. My cat went into a deep depression and had to be put down and still don't know what they did to him in the back. We paid for quality care and it was a student who ultimately practiced on our beloved family member. The owner may have been good but I'll never know because she hired a complete quack of a veterinarian and trusted that quack to supervise a student who was even worse.

The clinic itself is quite welcoming and among the many cat doctors that I have seen, this team is the finest. We received exceptional care each step of the way from the initial call, to reception to the vet tech to the vet and even at payment! Any cat owner should always go to a veterinarian that specializes in cats. The knowledge and tailored care is incredibly helpful for your precious kitty. That being said Scottsdale Cat Clinic is the best of the best. The facility is completely made to make kitties feel comfortable. The entire staff is exceptional and welcoming. You can tell that cats are their passion and they will do anything to help. Personable and knowledgeable. They take their time to make sure your cat is getting the best care possible and make sure you know every aspect of the care plan. I wouldn't go anywhere else!

I love Scottsdale Cat Clinic because they love, care for and listen to my kitty as much as I do! They are easy to get into for an appointment whenever you need one. Then from the moment you arrive they are thinking of your cat. When you walk in the atmosphere is calm, the welcome staff greets my cat by name. They have a candle in the front that they light if someone has recently had to put down a cat, indicating that guests should be quite in this hard time, and they have a very charming rescue welcome kitty. Then once you go back into the rooms there are climbing structures on the walls of the exam rooms, which are totally clean despite my cat leaving most of her hair behind each time we go. The staff is so friendly toward my cat and listens to her, gives her time to explore before starting their exam and listens to all my crazy cat mom concerns. They help with anything that has been going on with my kitty and help plan for any changes that might be coming in her life! Honestly I couldn't imagine a better vet for my sometimes anxious cat and am so thankful I found Scottsdale Cat Clinic!

Took my kitty Drake in for the first time recently. I've never seen a cat actually enjoy the vet and play the entire time. They had catnip, toys and tons for him to do. Even distracted him while getting shots and he didn't even care. They really go above and beyond and I've never been treated so well by a vet before this. Drake even ate his big brothers medicine and instead of forcing me to come in the helped me over the phone. Don't know what I would do without you guys!!

The staff is kind, personable and always greet us with a smile. Dr. Karnia and Dr. Nelson are very knowledgeable and understanding. They focus on the kitties but never forget to consider their humans as well. Time is spent educating us at every visit. The clinic is spacious, visually appealing and kept very clean. Our shelter would not be able to keep our doors open without Scottsdale Cat Clinic.

Im really torn because although the staff is accommodating and friendly, they really push a bunch of unnecessary things on you. My cat was throwing up for 2 days in a row so a fellow cornish rex owner suggested getting his teeth looked at. I thought the $75 visit fee would be fine for peace of mind. $200 and a prescription thats made for dogs, a bag of "lite" treats that have all sorts of crap in them and some royal cannin food because "blue buffalo is horrible" later and Im thinking....what just happened? They gave him fluids and a vitamin b shot and he's totally looking better, which was what I ultimately wanted but the fluids would have been just fine. The vet stayed late to see me because I was 45 min late and I really appreciated them but I felt really pushed into getting dental work and blood work etc....really pushed....to the point where they almost make you feel like a bad pet owner if you dont. It was a bizarre experience to say the least.

I care a great deal about a vet's background, bedside manner, practice and staff. I expect compassion, kindness, efficiency, excellent judgement, expertise, and that the practitioners stay abreast of research in feline medicine. I continue to be impressed with Scottsdale Cat Clinic, over the years. Karnia is excellent. The staff have always treated me superbly and, as an accredited cat behaviorist, I recommend this group to my clients... their reports have also been outstanding.

If you have a cat this is the only place to take it for vet care. I have lived in Scottsdale for 3 years and have not had good experiences with the vets recommended by my neighbors and friends. The minute I set foot into Scottsdale Cat Clinic I knew I'd found the clinic for my elderly cats.
The front staff are so kind and friendly and are truly interested in your pets' well being. The vet assistants are very knowledgeable and through. They take time to listen to your cats history and your concerns. The vets are wonderful, since they specialize only in cats, they can almost tell just by looking what the cats issues are.
What most impressed me was they way they explained in detail the treatment plan and the costs associated with it. No surprises and no unnecessary treatments.
This is the most impressive, well run, competitive pricing and above all caring, vet clinic I've ever been to. If you have a cat this is the ONLY place you take them for their healthcare. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Best cat clinic in the valley.

This was my first time to Scottsdale Cat Clinic, I called first because my cat has been having issues urinating outside of her box and I didn't know if I was doing something wrong, or she had a medical issue. Tara answered the phone and really took her time with me, answering all of my questions and making me feel comfortable. It was due to her knowledge, thorough and calming manner that I made an appointment for a full exam, lab testing as well as a behavioral consult. The appointment was so thorough from start to finish. My cat was really calm. The facility was super nice, very calm, quiet, with lots of windows for my little feline to stare out (she loved that!) The PA and the doctor made the visit really easy on my cat (who doesn't like sitting on the table--they came to her on the floor at times) and incredibly comforting to me, nothing was rushed. So I really got all of my questions answered and a bunch of new information I didn't know I could do to improve my cats quality of life!
I honestly hope I won't have to go back soon (for my cat's sake), but if I do this place was hands down the best I've been to in the lifetime of my 10 year old cat.

I've been going to the Scottsdale Cat Clinic for a few years now. They have seen both my cats, and I've only had great experiences with them. The staff is super caring, especially Tara. The environment is clean, quiet, and perfect for timid cats..like mine. I have seen both vets; Dr Karnia and Dr Nelson. Both vets are kind and great with my cats. Katrina is an awesome vet tech and her passion for what she does radiates! I will continue to come here for my cats needs and I've already recommended this clinic to several people.

Always get a second opinion with this vet as they are trying to pay for their rent and mortgage with unnecessary surgery. Two vets from Scottsdale Cat Clinic displayed very unethical behavior. My 3 cats have been patients at The Scottsdale Cat Clinic for many years. They have been a God-send to me, as I went through the loss of one of my furbabies. I adopted others, and one had health problems. I now have 3 happy, healthy furbabies. Anytime one goes in, they are assessed and I am given a list of procedures the vet feels may be needed. Along with that are high-low costs. These are discussed and I can decide to do what I can afford. There is never any pressure. They follow up with phone calls to check on my furbaby.

Scottsdale Cat Clinic is absolutely fantastic! I've been a pet owner my entire life, and I've never had such a fabulous time with any vet's office. Each interaction was positive, unhurried, and informative- from the initial phone call to walking out after my kitten's first appointment. The atmosphere was calm, the space very clean, and everyone seemed genuinely happy to see us. Normally going to the vet is stressful, but this was downright pleasant. I certainly won't take me and my kitten anywhere else, and I recommend the same for you and yours!

I had to find a good diagnostician when my previous vet failed to diagnose or stop my beloved Millicent's weight loss. When we came to SCC, Millicent tested at Stage 3 Renal Disease. After 4 days of treatment with fluids & antibiotics, we got her down below Stage 3 and are maintaining her happily. Not the cheapest vet in the Valley but clearly the best at what they do! So thankful to have them on our care team!

Scottsdale Cat Clinic is just what I was looking for!All the front desk staff is very attentive and knows my name, and the vet techs here are super friendly and know the cats well too. They say "hi" to my kitty when he comes in. Both Dr. K and Dr. B have been available to me by e-mail when I've had issues, and they've both been attentive about following up via phone after care.

He was in for a new patient visit and to get bloodwork/ongoing care for his kidney disease.When Wilbur's creatinine came back at 7, Dr. Karnia recommended continuing with fluids. Seriously? He also presented with high blood pressureCreatinine of 7 is pretty critical, especially considering his last level was around 3. No recommended treatment for his blood pressure, no diet recommendations and no advice to see a specialist. Nada.They even called months later to schedule a follow-up visit - as if he was just another cat coming in for a check-up. By that time he was seeing another vet and getting excellent care.The staff was amazing and if your cat is healthy, they might provide good care, but if your cat suffers from an illness - go elsewhere.

My interactions with veterinarians are limited. My family cat is a beautiful prissy princess who HATES the vet. It took us so many reschedules just to get her in a carrier that we just stopped trying. I know, I know, some of you owners out there are scoffing at this statement.. but hey~ Furbs is 15 years old and loving life. To each their own.So anywho, I can't speak to how experienced, knowledgable, or trustworthy the veterinarians are. We just took our newly adopted kitteh here for a basic check up. What I can say is that the staff was absolutely amazing to work with and I can't wait to take my kitten back. They were obsessed with him as soon as we walked in and what pet lover doesn't want to see another human fawn over their bebe (whether human or cat). Before we left, they surprised us with a HUGE gift basket full of toys, a cat bed, treats, and other goodies. Apparently one of their other patients won it and donated it back to the clinic to give to the next person who adopted a kitten. Lucky us, I guess. But they were so genuinely excited to give it to us! You can tell everyone really loves cats here and wants the best for their patients.Couldn't have asked for a better experience for Bear's first visit to the vet and we look forward to have them take care of him.

First, let me start off by saying that when I came across the Scottsdale Cat Clinic, I was not looking for a new vet. Id been going to the same vet hospital for 16 years; the service there was fantastic and the doctors were wonderful. Scottsdale Cat Clinic donated a basket to a charity event, and I won it. Part of the basket included a free visit, so I thought Id use the free visit voucher and then go back to my regular vet hospital. But after my first visit there, I knew Id be a lifelong client of Scottsdale Cat Clinic, and Ive now been a client there for a year. (I actually look forward to making appointments for my cats!) When you first get there, its peaceful, homey and welcoming perfect for a stressed out cat. And, because its a cat-only clinic, you dont need to worry about barking dogs. Youre greeted by Tara, Sara, Jillian and/or Katrina; you know their names and they know yours. After greeting you, they take you right in where Jillian or Katrina does the first part of the exam, both of whom do an amazing job. Next, youll meet either Dr. Karnia or Dr. Marschel. Ive seen both Drs. and couldnt be happier. Both of them are exceptional, knowledgeable, friendly and great with my cats. Im pleased with whichever doctor examines my cats, and Im glad that Dr. Marschel has joined the hospital (shes relatively new there). When you check out, you get a helpful report card that summarizes your cats health and exam. Additionally, the personal touches to these visits are awesome. After my first visit, I received a handwritten thank you card signed by everyone at the hospital. And when my kitten was neutered, Tara put together a get well bag for him. Outside the bag was my kittens name and picture and inside the bag was treats, toys and recovery information. And they do this type of stuff for every single client. I could go on and on about the hospital and staff and doctors. Really, I love this hospital. They treat you like family and Im so glad that I found them. I hope you take your cat there, too, because you will be in great hands.

I do not recommend this clinic. The main vet, Dr. Karnia, is very good. But then they hired another vet, Dr. Marschel, who is terrible. She was rough with my cat after making me wait 50 minutes because I was 5 minutes late for my cat's appointment. I complained vehemently at the time, and the staff discounted my visit since I had had such a terrible experience. Anyway, the next time I tried to book an appointment for my cat, with Dr. Karnia only, the "office manager" came on the phone and said that he would "give me an appointment this time" but that I was becoming a "problem client." This is clearly not very professional, nor is it people-friendly, and I will never return to this clinic again. They lost the business of me AND my two cats.

I have been coming to the Scottsdale Cat Clinic with my two cats for many, many years! I love this place and Dr. Karnia and Katrina make it really a special place. I always trust their opinions and feel like they would do anything to help my furbabies, if they need it. Both kitties are healthy and happy and having a great veterinarian contributes to that!
