Lovet Pet Health Care Surprise

The entire staff has been nothing short of amazing! I usually take my dog to banfield, but haven't been happy with them for a long time. We had an emergency earlier this week with my boy, and chose to bring him here for all of his after care as I don't really trust his normal vet. Originally we were set to go in on Saturday of this week, but he was having quite a bit of trouble with the drain from his surgery, and they fit him in today at the last minute to make sure he was taken care of! The doctor was very nice and knew exactly what she was talking about, and her and the technician were both great with my super nervous hard to handle boy. I am very impressed with the level of care and compassion the staff showed my dog, and we will use them for everything from now on! Thank you surprise!! Read Less

They are excellent. I take my little rat terrier, Buddie in here every once in a while when he gets sick and they are always extremely friendly and will usually fit me in even if they are busy. They also are very good at calling to check up to make sure everything is okay a couple days after the appointment. I also am a fan of their low cost solution that allows you to get your animal's shots for much cheaper than usual. Highly recommend. Read Less

The vets and staff at Surprise Animal Hospital are wonderful. I've been taking my pets to them for routine care, emergencies, and unfortunately the most recent visit was to have my sweet kittie put to sleep. The compassion and care shown by the doctors and technicians was of the kind shown by close friends or family. I've not encountered a single bad experience with any of the staff, and I've been going there for years. Although I moved several miles away, I still only take my pets to be seen there. I won't take them anywhere else. Another thing... They offer interest-free financing of the costs of their care, which has made it possible for me to get the care my pets need even when I don't have the funds at the time. For even more reasons not stated here, I HIGHLY recommend Surprise Animal Hospital to anyone seeking high quality, compassionate care for their pets!!!! Read Less

I just wanted to share how kind and compassionate Surprises Animal Hospital was today. After being told by our regular vet that they couldn't see our sick kitten, I called the Surprise Animal Hospital and the receptionist souls immediate concern and made me an appt. for 1130 but told if I felt I needed to come sooner to come right away. Although things did not end well for our Lucy the staff was amazing. Dr.Griggs was very honest with Lucy prognosis and the cost. Nick the Army Veteran and best vet tech was so kind and caring. I absolutely love taking my dogs and cats here. The staff are incredibly nice and always get me in in an emergency. We've seen all of the doctors and every one of them is excellent and what they do. I highly recommend this office their prices are very reasonable also. We've been taking our babies here for the last 3 years. I had to put one of my dogs to sleep and they were so caring and comforting during the whole process. Read Less

Everyone there is very nice and friendly, to me and my dog. They got me in last minute which was very helpful as everywhere else I had called was booked up or closed. There prices are very reasonable and they didn't push for extras. They gave me prices ahead of time in case the first treatment didn't work so I know what it's going to cost if I have to bring her back in. It's not one of the closest animal hospitals to my house but I will continue to take my Molly there! Read Less

I am very happy with the service. they treated my dog as if he was there own. I called at the end of the day because my dog wasn't himself at all and I didn't have an appointment. They told me to bring him in anyway to see if he is at lease stable. When I got there the nurse took him back right away. She said he is stable that as soon as they can they will check him. Within a half hour if that she took him back again to do blood work along with xrays and found out he was bleeding internally. the doctors were real helpful as to what I should do. They gave me options. She said the best one would be to take him to Vet Med and have them look at him. They were more prepared for dealing with the cancer and removing it from the spleen. First time taking our new furever girl C.C. a black lab. The staff were all very pleasant. Another family was sending their baby to the rainbow bridge and the office had candles "burning" and shades pulled. When I found a stray cat dying in my garage three months ago, I called a friend for advice.  He said I could use Surprise Animal Hospital, but they are expensive.  No kidding.  I brought the cat in and they immediately rushed it to the back, which I thought was good.  A lady took me to an exam room to discuss payment.  There were various charges, and one of them, complete blood work, was almost $200.  I explained again that this was a stray or a neighbor's cat, and I am not taking on responsibility for the rest of its life; I just want to give it a chance to live.  She took that charge off for me -- that's the kind of rip-off I look for and know to avoid.  I explained I am out of work and cannot pay full price, so she gave me a discount of $24.50 for a first-time customer.  Not too generous.  She mentioned the "payment plan", aka a "mess with your credit forever plan", because they demand permission to fool with your credit card/bank, which unfortunately happens in perpetuity if there's ever an issue.  And SAH charges you $10 for the privilege.  Um, no.  The vet came in and I discussed all this with him.  He knew what had happened to the cat -- antifreeze poisoning -- because, well, he's a smart guy; he knows his business.  Normally this is the kind of person I want to trust animals with, because he is quite competent.  But in the end, it all cost me about $250 (would have cost much more if I'd agreed to have them cremate the remains) and he could not even save the cat.  If this is how they treat an unemployed good Samaritan with an animal that cannot be helped, how do they treat people who obviously have money and whose pets survive the office visit?  Today I talked to a friend out of state who had something similar happen, and not only did her vet lower the price significantly, he also threw in some extras.  Wow.  Why can't we get this level of caring and service here? We brought our cat to this vet and our cat seemed to be really sick and they diagnosed her and everything was fine and we thought we loved this vet's office on the first visit. Then our dogs got sick we had two puppies both with the same symptoms both were having diarrhea with blood in their stool. We made an appointment for a one but we thought maybe we could bring both in and if they had another opening we could have him checked out as well. When we got to the appointment last night they stated that only one can be checked we tested for multiple things. Then the test came back that our dog had a parasite. They said the meds were going to be almost $80 for the one puppy. After calling back to see if we could get the same meds for the other dog that's sick they stated no they needed to charger full visit for him plus a full testing on him. We called back multiple times and ask them to speak to a manager to see if we could just bring in the feces and have that tested and then pay for the meds and they stated no they needed to charge for a visit. Makes no sense why two dogs have the same symptoms and if this was a a more personal vet that cares that you would think that they would have said no charge for a visit and since they both had the same symptoms that they would have at least given a discount for having them tested like a multi-family discount period but no they just want our money. I would never recommend this facility and I'm starting to look for a new vet's office. Read Less

We've been going to this vet hospital for two years. Our dog is a rescue and he is a bit nervous to see any vet but the staff in Surprise are very friendly and gentle with him and they always answer my questions and concerns with care. I can never even get into this stupid office. Every time I call it's like a week wait. I'm sorry my dog is sick and can't wait a week. I was told to call everyday in case there is a cancellation because they said it's too much work for them to call me if there is one. The new guy that works there sucks. This time I called five days in advance and still couldn't get it. This is the closest office to my house and it sucks that they are so uncooperative because my dog does not do well in car rides. Guess we have to keep going 40 minutes to the vet that actually cares about my pet. Read Less

I wanted to thank Dr. Johanna DeKing and the entire staff for being so wonderful during a difficult time for our family. We sadly lost our beloved kitty, Blackie, this last weekend, but Dr. DeKing did everything in her power to help Blackie fight her illness. We already loved this practice for all the wonderful things they have done for our animals, but their kindness during this difficult time made us fans for life. Today I received a beautiful condolence card in the mail, and I wanted to thank them publicly for being amazing. This animal hospital is AMAZING! I can't speak enough about how great the vets and staff were. We recently had to say good-bye to our furry dog. Wow!! Take your animal to this hospital My two dogs fought for the first time while we were out, I came home to a heartbreaking sight.. though they will both be ok. The hospital got me in instantly on a Sunday. They evaluated my dogs, put them under to shave the scratch/nip areas and sutured their gashes I will never leave my dogs together again, not sure what triggered their first fight. I will forever remember how kind everyone was, I'm sure they had to stay late. Received a phone call the next day from the doctor, to check on the dogs.. which is the sweetest! Gives me a chance to ask any question without feeling like I am inconveniencing them during their busy day. LOVE this office and all that work there. The procedures my dogs needed wasn't cheap but I was offered a no interest payment plan so it's great to know that that is an option. They walked me through the treatment plant before the procedure and they gave a high/low number so I was completely prepared, no surprises! So grateful for them and they are open EVERY day!!! Our dog recently ate something he shouldn't have and required emergency surgery to get it out. Our vet closed recently so we needed someone to do the surgery same day. I got SAH's name from a friend who said they were great. I called them, explained the situation and they were happy to fit him in to their surgical schedule that day. A first time client! The staff was really friendly and accommodating (I called about 4-5 times each day to check on my baby and they were never annoyed). They even called right before they left for the evening to give me an update on my pup's progress. Another cool thing is they will do payment plans for your higher bills at zero interest. They are a full 30 minutes away from us and we pass other vets on our way but we'll be taking our pup to this vet going forward. They've definitely earned our business.Read Less

I love this hospitals staff ! My first impression with the staff was over the phone I felt compassion and care right away! Never have I walked into a hospital with so much organized chaos! Everyone was smiling and happy and addressed every person who walked threw the door! Even being our first visit the receptionist knew who We were was! The hospital was clean and you could not tell that this was an animal hospital at all ! Thank you so much Dr.Fleming and staff for making our first visit a memorable one. I can honestly say that the staff and Veterinarian on site are the best!!!Unfortunately our family dog Kronis passed 2 weeks ago. I took Kronis here because he was really sick! I was greeted at the counter by one of the most professional staff members! I told her what was wrong and with no hesitation, she went outside picked up Kronis out of the truck and took him straight to the back! Came back out and explained what was going to happen and keep me somewhat calm(I was a wreck). To make a long story short, I was then greeted by more staff, taken to a private room and was explained all what was happening! Although they couldn't save our Kronis, I know they did everything they could! The Veterinarian on site was very passionate and respectful! A few days after Kronis passed, we received a card in the mail from Surprise Animal Hospital!! Just today, we received another card with flowers!!!! Unbelievable how professional this staff is!! I've been bringing my dogs here for almost 3 years. I won't go anywhere else. The vets & staff here are amazing with our dogs. Very caring, gentle & super sweet to them. To us humans , they are very friendly, informative & patiently answer any & all questions we have. Surprise Animal Hospital has grooming too which is a huge bonus. Two thumbs & 5 stars from our family  & pawsAlso, I had an emergency with one of my puppies. When I called they got me an appt right away. I've been bringing my pets and my moms pets to Surprise Animal Hospital for 3 years now. They've been amazing with all of our pets. Last December my male min pin got extremely sick and we originally brought him to the vet in Payson where we lived and they weren't able to help, they ended up suggesting to put our 3 year old dog to sleep. So we brought him to Surprise and they diagnosed him with tick fever and cured him in 4 weeks! We love the vets and staff here everyone is so friendly. Love everybody here! We've had all of our animals here. Both our dogs had major surgery. TPLO surgeries. Recent surgery and the other five years ago. The staff are amazing, the Dr's are phenomenal. Been coming to this vet for a very long time.....have never been turned away and believe me I have been on their doorstep many times when the doors open with an emergency. Always willing to help me and my very needy Cavaliers. I have special need pups and can't be told it will need to wait til tomorrow. Dr. De King is very special to us...she has held our hearts and hands when we have had to say good-bye to a beloved pet and sat on the floor and cried with us as they go over the Rainbow Bridge ....these vets have heart and I trust them...they are our extended family. Amazing people I live in Chandler and will say it was well worth the hour and a half drive. The staff cares more about your well being during the tough time and your pets instead of how much money you have. It's not about the animal, it's all about the money.  I tried 3 different vets and couldn't find one that was interested in actually trying to figure out what was wrong with my dog - just wanted to push medications and get to the next appointment in the quota.  Sadly my dog died of a preventable problem. This place is just money hungry. Didn't care one bit about my dog. They spent more time typing up the 4 different invoices than they did actually trying to help my dog. Thank god i decided to get a second opinion. I decided to go to All Star Animal Hospital and had the exact same tests performed and the bill was 1/3 the price. I love this place. I have been there twice and both times my dogs and I were treated to amazing service. When my dog was stung by a scorpion they took us in without an appointment and immediately evaluated her and was able to give her the meds she needed to make a speedy recovery. On both visits we saw Dr. Bizzul. She was kind and caring, and even followed up by phone after the visit. The staff members are all amazing too! I highly recommend. Read Less

My senior black lab all of a sudden had swelling under one of her eyes. I was super concerned and called Surprise AH. With it being Sunday, they said they were booked, however said that they were able to get me in with a dr two hours from the time of the phone call! Got in quickly, and the staff was super friendly and informative. Based off of what was going on with my old girl, they gave me a few options on how to proceed with treatments and prices. They were patient with me and my several questions and took care of my girl as if she were theirs. Walking out with some take home antibiotics. So thankful for the amazing staff at Surprise AH. I love how Potato (my 14 year old mixed breed pup) is treated here!!! Dr. DeKing and all of the staff are amazing! I have brought Potato here when he has an upset stomach, for his separation anxiety & for general care and he is always treated like he's the only animal in the world!Recently when drug manufacturers discontinued a medication Potato is on, I had to call Surprise Animal Hospital numerous times and they never sounded annoyed, or frustrated that I was being so needy.  In short, they were compassionate and really tried to find the best option for Potato.  I know that I think Potato is the most important pooch in the world, but Surprise Animal Hospital treats each animal and human customer as though they are the most important thing in the world.They are open Saturdays too!
