We used them under emergency circumstances when we had to bring our nearly 14yr old dog in to be euthanized. Even though we were not a client at the time they were so accommodating and understanding. We called ahead to let them know we were in route and when we arrived they were ready for us with a room reserved and a sign out to let others know to be quite as others in the office were having to say goodbye to their fur baby. I'm really torn here. I think they're great for regular check ups or if something is a clear problem and emergency. Otherwise, I've seen quite a few staff including vets cycle in and out. They find serious (and costly) medical issues that otherwise wouldn't be a problem. I've repeatedly had them diagnose severe issues with my pets to take them to get a second opinion and save myself hundreds in the long run. I'd suggest anyone taking their pets here utilize common sense. Read Less

A few weeks ago, we sadly had to say goodbye to our beloved Samson. The doctor was so kind and showed great compassion in explaining that it was time. The vet assistants and technicians were very patient and allowed us all the time we needed. We are truly grateful. We've been customers of this establishment for about a year. Our 10lb toy poodle has had an examination, vaccinations and regular grooming there. On our first visit we enrolled in the "free vaccinations for life" program at a cost of (as I remember) about $90.  About a month later we received a notice that our Poodle was due for a vaccination.  When we had it done we were told the 'vaccinations for life' DIDN'T include that particular injection.  Oh, okay so the program is really SOME vaccinations for life.  I get it.Today our small dog was attacked by another dog. There was a gaping wound on his left shoulder.  We jumped in the car for the 20 minute drive to White Tanks. As we pulled away from home I called ahead. I was told  "sorry, we've had so many walk-ins this morning we just can't work him in".  Really?!  My dog, a regular patient at your facility, has a gaping wound and  you can't see us?  I have relationships with medical personnel, including veterinarians, not because of routine appointments, but I need a provider that I can DEPEND on in an emergency.  White Tanks Animal Hospital in Surprise is NOT such a provider.  I shall never return. Staff is very professional. I've only been there twice and both times they made adjustments to appointments for my pet to be seen. Unfortunately my second visit was to have my 14yr. old Weimaraner laid to rest. As difficult as it was, the staff made it stress free and never once rushed the process. We were told to take all the time we needed with our baby girl. The vet and the techs were amazing throughout this process. Because of the staff and what they did, my baby girl never suffered at all. I truly cannot say enough good things about this office. Everyone here is AMAZING!!! I know that they see lots of animals every day, but they always treat us like family and make us feel welcomed. And they remember our pups! They even went above and beyond to help my husband catch our skittish Husky when she got loose on Greenway before a vet visit. When it was time for our Doberman to cross the rainbow bridge, they were compassionate and caring. They let us stay with him as long as we needed. I have never before had problems with White Tank Animal Hospital but it seems as if things are changing. Maybe they have just taken on too many animals that they are overwhelmed and can not handle them. I understand that emergencies happen and calls can not be returned right away unless there is an emergency. I am more then willing to wait an acceptable amount of time. But when the vet leaves a message on my phone that my Bichon's liver enzymes are elevated even with treatment and we need to discuss it I do not expect to wait 4 days for a return phone call. We first came to  White Tanks Animal Hospital  when taking our Lexie Girl in for seizures. They seen us right away on an emergency basis She was quite old at the time. They helped me and gave me as much time as I needed when she went to Rainbow Bridge. I highly recommend this place to my neighbors, family and friends. The Front Office, Vet. A Hugh Thank You to Dr. Berthiaume, Kenzie, Amanda, Kyle & Katie for helping us with our beloved Max age 14 & his passing. It's not been easy for you see Max was my Boy he was my rescue at the age of 5 1/2 months from a shelter he had been very abused & that's not the dog we originally went to rescue. Not only did we help Max understand love & compassion & not everyone is like what he experienced, he also was there for us during the loss of our female dog after 13 yrs, through a bout of Cancer, Max as you see he was a very loving dog. Had the unfortunate experience of acquiring a sick little GSD. Called Saturday am and very VERY kindly enough agreed to see her 2 hours later. Everyone was polite and genuinely concerned and cared for her as if they were her own "pet parents". Yes, you pay for good service but i have paid ( alot) for bad service and uncaring clinics. So this place made me forget about all those bad experiences and i have regained my faith in caring, proactive vets and clinics. They even called on Sunday ( the ACTUAL DR) to check on my little pup. I had an appointment there today at 11 AM with my dog Bella as soon as I walked in they weighed her and took us in a room! Just a couple minutes later the doctor came in and her assistant they listen to everything I had to say and then thoroughly gave Bella check up! I have been taking my dogs to White Tank for 8 years. Never had an issue until a few weeks ago. My hubby had to have emergency surgery and has been off work for almost 6 weeks. I called them to get my payment arrangement extended, until hubby was healed and back to work. They told me no, they couldn't help me and if it wasn't paid they would send it to collections. I have NEVER missed a payment with them and most of the time I always pay at the time of services. Even offered to bring in my hubby's surgeon note, staring he is off work until January. Their true colors came out full speed. They only care about the money. Period. I will be finding myself a new vet and will no longer recommend them. Read Less

i will never take my pets anywhere else. all of the girls here definitely enjoy their jobs and it shows. They make it an enjoyable trip every time i come in. They show that they love my Zena just as much as i do and it's comforting that i can have that feeling of trust when i have to leave them with her! Everyone is so caring there. I brought my sick dog in & they listened to everything I had to say. They did a breakdown of pricing for what treatment & meds he would need & have a pymnt plan. Let's face it it costs a lot to bring your animal to the vet but I felt better I didn't have to shell all the money up front. Cautionary warning on an awful vet experience. I have been a loyal client of White Tank Animal Hospital for all my dogs since moving to Surprise. I had on of my dogs teeth cleaned and knew she needed a tooth pulled. You are required to indicate if you want a call prior to tooth extractions while they are under. I checked no as usual since I expect a tooth or two to get pulled. They called me at 1 this afternoon to tell me she was done and they pulled 11 teeth. They took all her front teeth out and left only her incisors. Vet relayed they were all loose and had no real bone structure left. I brush her teeth regularly and have never noticed 9 teeth loose in the front of her mouth. Her $550 expected bill totaled out at $1,086.00. Short end of this is never make the stupid mistake I did. No matter how much common sense you would anticipate from a vet to call with so many removals mine simply did not. My sweet 5 year old Chihuahua now has no front teeth. I still believe they are highly qualified and with full knowledge I signed my right to call away. I honestly believe they took advantage of my loyalty to them and want to caution everyone to hopefully avoid my situation.Read Less

Thank you Dr. Cox and all the staff who helped with our sweet baby Misty!! My husband brought her in one morning due to throwing up and not acting herself. Dr. Cox treated her with a shot and meds for nausea treated her for dehydration, and did blood work. Dr. said if it continues bring her back and by 4:30 we were back! They took x-rays and we realized she had something in her intestines. They rushed her into surgery and took out a good size ROCK she had eaten! Very happy with this office! I have taken 3 of my dogs here for their checkups, shots, etc. The entire staff from the office to the doctors are all very friendly, sincere, and knowledgeable. I switched to this vet office a few years ago coming from El Mirage VCA, as that office didn't know how to treat my pug  who has severe allergies. I was fed up with the guessing game they used to treat my dog and decided to leave them as at that time my dog needed to be seen  for a bad allergy flare up, and VCA couldn't see her that day even though to me it was an emergency and we'd been with them for over 5 years. That's just BS.Called White Tanks Animal Hospital that same day, and they took her in. The doc listened to my concerns and over time we figured out what she needed to help her. Fast response and good service. I have taken my service dog there for regular visits, my mother took her bull mastiffs there with issues, both issues were resolved in a timely manner. Unfortunate one of the dogs weren't able to be saved due to health issues not the vets. Payment plans have helped with the mastiffs. I plan on using them for as long as the keep providing the same amount of care. $50 a visit is a little high I believe though. Read Less

HORRIBLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do not go here. I was charged to have my puppy placed in what looks like a laundry room. The back room appeared to be a non loving, healing place for any sick pet. Washing machine, dryer & kennels with our loved puppy sitting there dying is what I payed $1500 for. We then set up a payment plan. The hospital confused my account with another name I received no mail, or calls and they sent my account to collections with less than $500 to pay off. BAD BUSINESS from the start. I've taken a few of my pets to this hospital in the past and every time I've been horribly disappointed. 2 years ago I took my new miniature pinscher puppy there due to an emergency. He had already been vaccinated and had his check up at a different hospital but one day I was crarrying him into the house from the backyard and he kept squirming to the point where he fell out of my arms. I was horrified. He landed wrong on his leg and couldn't walk on it. I immediately tried getting him in to his current vet but they didn't take emergencies and couldn't see him for a week. I called white Tank and made a same day appointment. When I came in the staff was short but polite. I was greeted by a vet tech which wanted to hear the story and took the vitals of my puppy. She left and returned with the vet who was completely uninformed by the tech, so I had to repeat my story all over again. The vet looked at my puppy and came up with a huge treatment plan. X-rays, pain medication, etc. I was confused because we don't even know if it's a sprain or break and they are already prescribing take-home medication. I said yes to x-Ray and hold on the pain med. after he X-ray they came back and showed me the images. It was blurry as hell and I could make left from right. I worked in animal hospitals and I've seen x-rays and this just looked like crap. They said it was a bad shot because my puppy was squirmy. These x-rays are digital so it costs them nothing to retake the x-Ray but they insisted that I'd have to pay extra for retakes. The vet pretty much said it could be broken, it might not be broken, not really sure. So what was her next step???? An EXPLORATORY surgery. Pretty much open him up and check things out. From what she said the likelyhood of them repairing the damage may be pointless so insisted we amputate his leg. WHAT? So I asked the cost for this and they quoted 2500$+ for this amputation. I told them hell no. Paid for the office visit amd x-rays and left. I sought a second opinion by my puppys current vet since they had a last minute cancellation a few days later and they took their own x-rays. My vet came in and was baffled at White Tanks. He said there was no break, no fracture, just a possible sprain and that he should recover. He did recommend pain meds which were a fraction of the cost for the meds white tanks wanted me to buy. Two years later and this dog is running around like he never hurt his leg. Sprints and jumps on the couch. I am very happy I did not listen to that hospital and amputate my dogs leg. They jump to erroneous diagnosis that cost a fortune. Do not go there.Read Less

Unbelievably terrible! The office staff are lazy and misinformed. That is a dangerous mix when dealing with your pet's health. I was told that they had no record of my dog's vaccines. I found the paper work myself in my own files & called back to inform them that she was current on her rabies. White Tanks, you have a customer for life in us. I have been concerned with my dogs health and teeth for many years. Every vet we ever saw said "oh he's getting older" .. "yeah he might needs a clean.". From the first appointment our Dr. laid it out how he could get our 11 year old back into shape. We set up a teeth cleaning and got him on a medication that works for him and our budget. Speaking of budget, they do a NO INTEREST payment plan! Beyond upset. I used to take my dogs there but not anymore. All they care about is getting your money from you and not the health of your animal. They almost killed my dog because they wouldn't take the time to actually figure out what was wrong. He saw every vet that works there... Not one could tell us what was wrong with him and when I asked for him to be removed from the meds they put him on they said no they're working, Yea working on killing him that was about it!
