So, I will agree with others that the experience up front at the desks versus the back with the doctors are two totally different experiences. The check in process is a lot smoother (no more than 4 others clients waiting with you) than the check out. There's always a new girl working the front who never knows how to use the systems and being that the majority of clients there are in distress because their pet is ill, that definitely doesn't bode well. They definitely could do with a better organizational system up there to get people checked out quicker. I don't think even the best multi-tasker could wait for them to ask 5 others about how to bill something while we try to search for our wallets in our bottomless bags while holding onto a beast that keeps trying to launch itself at the dog statues near the entrance (this example may or may not be from personal experience).I'm still giving it 5 stars though because the main reason I'm here is for the doctors. I've shopped and driven around to 3-5 other vets in the Tempe/Chandler/Gilbert area in vain and I still can't find another vet that has the flexible hours, lowest pricing, speedy pharmacy, readily available in house technology, and immediate availability to see someone else if your vet isn't available. No matter how far I've moved, I always come back to this place for my 2 dogs, one who has a pretty extreme case of Valley Fever and probably will forever and the other who has a tendency to get into stuff she's not supposed to (200 hazelnut M&M's, anyone?) So yes, I have generously spent a lot of money here - but it's nowhere near the amount others have wanted from me. They are extremely upfront about prices before they make a decision and while they do present every option, it is UP TO YOU to make the final decisions. Of course they want you to do the expensive blood panel, prick sample, x-ray, etc etc. They want to make sure they have all the data available to them to make sure your baby is ok. Does your pet need it? Honestly, no, and that once again is UP TO YOU to put on your big boy underwear and make those decisions because they only want what's best for you but that's obviously a pricey option. Also, no need to come in 2 or 3 months later for a check-up or blood panel. Feel free to stretch it out a little, I swear they will not judge you. If this was tl;dr - here's what you need to know: - Do not make an appointment anytime between 3:30-6:30 on weekdays. You are asking for the opportunity to shoot yourself in the car while you wait in a 1 or 2 lane forever due to it's location- It is more expensive to schedule an evening appointment vs morning and afternoon, but as I stated above, it's better than spending an evening being suicidal and/or homicidal- The female vets are a lot more understanding and patient if you have an aggressive dog vs the men who seem to always want to give them some calming agent asap- If you don't have pet insurance, they accept Pet Assurance which gives you 25% all in house expenses which has saved me a lot of money and I think it's definitely worth looking into- Military discount - woot woot!- For those writing bad reviews about boarding, you really thought bringing them here vs an actual boarding facility with a playground was a good idea?
