I love this clinic! They have been the only vet that I have taken my dogs to since they were puppies. The doctors and nurses are great! I took my 3 pound 10 year old chihuahua here for an emergency appointment as she was having neurological issues and was essentially dealing with what I later found out to be the dog equivalent to sudden ALS.  She was unable to move but she could feel. We decided to let her go out of kindness.  she was relaxed and her and I both knew what we had to do. My dying best friend and I were promised by the doctor on staff that she would barely feel the shot and she would fade away peacefully. For some reason they wouldn't allow me in back while they inserted the needle which is highly irregular. They took nearly 20 minutes to get her back to me and when they did show up they told me that the needle wasn't small enough for her little veins because they were dehydrated even though she drank at least 100 drinks of water that morning. They brought her in the room with me to try again on the back legs and the doctor was twisting her fragile leg to the point where my dog was biting me to relieve the pain, that was before the additional needles were inserted putting her in such a defeated and painful mindset in which to spend her last few moments. Eventually my dog looked so sad and the relaxed "coming to terms" look vanished from her face as you can see in the photos. She was stabbed with at least 4-6 needles in her veins probably severing them along the way in what was supposed to be painless for her. Eventually they used the cat euthanization method which is inserted into the abdomen!!! They did ask me if they could do that but how was I supposed to let my tortured dog go through any more pain, I felt she was so close to death anyway after all the needles, I let them do it without thinking of how a cat method might not be suitable for a dog. I even made sure they pronounced her dead because it took her so long to pass. They Charged me for the dog one and my little girl died slowly, afraid and in pain in my arms. The only good part about this place is the young hispanic vet tech male who seemed to have a better less desensitized love for animals compared to" Dr " Grainger, he knew how to hold her which for some reason is hard for non animal people to grasp how to do. I am traumatised and will probably require counselling after what Rachel Grainger did to my best friend. I bet they'll come up with issues when returning her ashes to me too but that review is to follow. Read Less

Please don't bring your loved pet here if there is a serious condition issue. This vet is good for only the most basic needs. I brought my dog here several months ago, reason being is it was the closest place to my house and it had good reviews. My dog suffered a serious kidney issue. The vet here gave us the round around on taking my dog into care because the diagnostic procedures were done somewhere else. He wanted us to spend the money to hear what we already knew. Our dog did have lab work here done witch was needed to monitor his condition. My dog got very sick and unstable two days ago, bleeding from his mouth and could not stand up. I brought him in here and I asked the vet if I should take the dog to the ER. The vet said it wasn't necessary and decided to run labs on him even though the results are not in house. We would not see them till Monday because they close on the weekends. They also said they could not watch him over night and the vet sent our dog back home. 8 hours after spending the money on labs and meds, the dog began to cry in pain and the bleeding from his mouth got worst. We took him to the ER where the vet told us it was obvious the dog was in terrible shape and could possibly not make it. We had to run more labs to see if there was anything to be done to save him. The results were done in house and the prognosis was not good. We had to put him down. If we would have known how serious the problem was we would have taken him to the ER right away. But this vet made us think the dog would get better with meds and rehydration sending him home. Yes we knew he was sick, but not dying. I wish I would have known he was dying and made the decision to put him down earlier and not make him suffer so much.Read Less

Everyone is great here. I drive from 185th Ave and Indian School rd to take my dog n cat there. When I rescued my cat Arlo from the pound they waved the fee since they weren't on list of providers. This allowed me to take both my babies to go to the same vet. They don't nickle and dime you. All cost are presented with options. Read Less

I pull over to see he has broken out from the shots so i took him back.right away they took him to the back (yes i was crying) and i look thru the window and see them kissing my puppy and making him feel better while he gets his meds.. I'm new to the area. I took my dog in for a pre-dental exam and blood work. The people who work there seemed very nice and were kind and gentle with my little dog. I had brought in a coupon that I found on their website. When it was time to pay I offered up the coupon and was told that they would not honor it because I wasn't getting an exam for my dog (apparently the exam is included in the fee for the dental). I was told that the coupon can only be used for a regular exam, and nothing else. Not for vaccinations or nail trims or food or medicines or any other type of procedure. None of this is very clear on the coupon. It's a $10 coupon. I'm going to be spending at least $400 on the dental, lab work, and rabies shot that's required before the procedure (since we just moved here and his records are still packed away). I would think it would be nice if they would honor a $10 off coupon if I'm spending quite a bit of money there. Or at least they should be more specific on the coupon. It should read: "Good for $10 off one regular exam only." Other than that little issue, the place seems nice enough. We'll see how much it ends up costing, since extractions (if needed) are extra.I'll update this later and let you know. Read Less

I can't say enough nice things about everyone in this office. They've treated all 3 of my dogs including my brand new rottweiler puppy with parvo, I only had him 1 day and he was very ill. They got him in right away and truly went above and beyond. I'm so grateful for the kindness and healing they've provided my fur babies over the years. Thank you guys with all my heart. Dr Grainger is a shyster and the worst kind of vetinarian in practice today. This practice was good once upon a time, but now with Grainger being the only vetenarian here it absolutely is not worth it. You are going to recieve absolutely the worst bedside manner with little care to the animal or your situation, and they wont hesitate to try to sell you product rather than medication or treatment for your animal. I understand feelings run strongly for or against a vet based on whether they help your animal or not so people will happily give a 5 star for their pet being okay, but honestly when taken at face value this clinic has only 1 full time practicing vet with lousy scheduling, limited facilities prevent them from offering serious care, and this whole business is floated by the county paying for all of the spay/neuter surgeries this clinic offers and your animal means absolutely nothing to this for profit animal chop shop. Go down the road to 83rd if you have to go nearby, otherwise there are several clinics in the avondale area that have solid vets that care about the animals they see. Read Less

I just moved here about two weeks ago from out of state. I was waiting in the drive thru at Starbucks when I noticed a sign saying discount vaccinations on the first Saturday of the month, which it was! My pomeranian Nemo was over due. Let me just say from check in to check out was a pleasure. Dr. Jackson was so kind, informative, and caring. Nurse Jennifer was the sweetest and helpful. I have two dogs one is an American Bulldog border collie mix, a year and half old, ever since I've been pregnant he is more aggressive and it's mainly when he goes to the doctor or the Vet he does fine until they close the door. Then I have a three month old puppy which is a lab mix. I honestly love this place they know how to handle both my dogs especially my older dog and they always answer all my questions and no bad experience. I would have given a 0 rating but it was not an option. I took my puppies that I rescued in for vaccination at a cost of $40 which was to include a minor vet check up.  The vet Rachel Grainger stated she was to busy to even look at  the one puppy who has a  hip or leg deformity and reschedule an appointment. I did reschedule and showed up for  my for new appointment and was told the vet (same one) was busy and was closing in 30 minutes and she wanted to go home, it was 12:30 in the afternoon on a Saturday.  I did have a scheduled appointment and also drove 45 mins. to get there. I was sent away once again!!! Don't use this veterinarian she will completely waste your time and she does not give a hoot about your pet. She only cared about getting home for lunch. Read Less

I recently adopted a dog from maricopa animal control and he was having digestive problems since I brought him home. I tried feeding him recommended dog food and walking him but he still didn't get any better. So I brought him to this place for a check up and not only had to wait almost an hour to be seen but when I was taken back they hardly addressed his issues but gave me generic advice that I could have gotten anywhere else. Not only that but the doctor that examined him straight up looked at his legs (and between them) and then kept referring to him as a girl even after I corrected her. And not only that but the estimate for further care was unbelievable and most of the suggested "treatments" where nothing but promoting their own expensive products. I love that I finally found a great veterinary office. Staff and female veterinarian is delightful. Let's just say I have a big rottweiler who in my eyes is an angel cuddle bug. He is my fur baby but hey he's a rottweiler. Plus he has bad hips so I can't say alot of people would be excited to assist him. But they did. He's now active and going on walks every day. This Animal Clinic is amazing! The staff is so nice and caring. They really do want to give your pet the best care possible. You can just tell by the way they handle your pet. My husband took in a lab-mix puppy who had ticks because he felt so bad for it. I was afraid because I did not want our family dog to get whatever this puppy might have. This clinic is close to our home and helped us out quickly by getting this puppy in and doing the whole puppy check-up. We paid a flat fee in small increments for the puppy program. We even got him neutered recently. I am so thankful. I was not expecting another family member, but it was a blessing in disguise.
