Acoma Veterinary Clinic is a well-established animal hospital that has served been proudly serving the Tucson Community. Acoma is a full-service clinic, catering to both large and small animals of all species, or any animal that walks, crawls, slithers, swims, trots or gallops in! He has a special fondness for bearded dragons!
Dr. Livingston has training for any surgery as well as ophthalmology, dentistry, cardiology, orthopedics and more with more than 30 years experience. He has been certified in animal chiropractic medicine and alternative medicine for 12 years. Acoma Animal Clinic prides itself in maintaining trusting and personal relationships with our clients and their pets.
Dr. Richard 'Dick' Livingston, DVM, received his doctorate from Colorado State University in 1980 and started his first clinic in Flagstaff in 1981. He is now full-time in Tucson at his second clinic, established in 1995. He maintained two-vet practices in Flagstaff and Tucson from 1995 to 2010. Acoma Animal Clinic provides urgent-care hours and accepts walk-ins and insurance.

I have been using Dr. Livingston at Acoma for many, many years. (I have cats and dogs.) He is very knowledgeable, thorough and kind. He listens and explains things in detail, which is very important to me. He is active in our community, participating in educational programs, and often has a student observing. As a teacher myself, I welcome that. I highly recommend Acoma Animal Clinic.

I have been taking my fur babies here for over 10 years and we love it! They are super engaged and Dr. Livingston always takes the time to make sure we fully understand what is going on. We now live 45 minutes away and will not change vets as the staff make it worth the drive!

Dr Livingston performed a very difficult cancerous tumor removal surgery on our dog. We couldn't really afford it so he gave us an estimate with a discount. Even though the surgery was much harder and longer than expected, he didn't charge us extra and stuck to his original estimate. The staff is also very kind and friendly.

SAVED MY PUPPY'S LEG...
I have taken my numerous dogs to Acoma since 1990. They were there for me 16 years ago when my Boxer has his face partially ripped off by another dog. They fixed him and then worked with me to pay his bill by giving me a discount and taking a dated check. Sadly in November 2015 our 8 month old dog Lucy, who we had for 3 weeks, was ran over by a jeep. Her rear leg and hip was shattered and splintered. I was afraid we would have to put her down. I am the only wage earner and could not get a loan or credit card. After looking at her Dr Livingston called to give us the news. Major damage requiring surgeries and steel bars/braces protruding from her leg and lots of follow up visits and meds and xrays and ETC. The price was almost $5000. He worked with us and gave us a HUGE discount and even though the terms were tough he set up a payment plan and definitely lost money helping Lucy. We sold stuff and I worked LOTS of OT but we did it. Lucy loves going to see the Dr and his staff every 2 weeks. I will never be able to say thank you enough to all of them. They even call every few days to check on her almost 5 months later. Today Lucy is getting her last steel rod removed that goes into the top of her leg almost to her knee. Everyone here cares about your pets and will treat her like she is their family too.

Dr. Livingston has been our vet for years. Saved our chihuahua when he had a rattlesnake bite and tylenol poisoning. The only vet we trust with our three dogs. He is also very reasonably cost wise. Other vets would charge an arm and a leg with subpar care. He charges appropriately for excellent care.

He listens and explains things in detail, which is very important to me. He is active in our community, participating in educational programs, and often has a student observing. I have been taking my fur babies here for over 10 years and we love it! They are super engaged and Dr. Livingston always takes the time to make sure we fully understand what is going on. We now live 45 minutes away and will not change vets as the staff make it worth the drive!

Dr Livingston performed a very difficult cancerous tumor removal surgery on our dog. We couldn't really afford it so he gave us an estimate with a discount. Even though the surgery was much harder and longer than expected, he didn't charge us extra and stuck to his original estimate. The staff is also very kind and friendly.
