I take both of my dogs here.  I originally came here after I took my first dog to Banfield.  He was sneezing, and I felt like the medications and procedures they were mentioning at Banfield were excessive and too expensive.  I first met Dr. D, then later Dr. Casper.  Both are knowledgeable and honest.  I don't think they would recommend anything that's unnecessary.  The medications and charges could be cheaper, but I really do think that's offset by the quality of care and how they won't prescribe anything that's not needed.  One of my dogs can get snappy, and instead of turning him away or muzzling, they suggested things I could do to fix his behavior, which I always appreciate.  The feel of the place is also much more cozy than clinical.  I like how the exams are done on the floor with couches and beds, instead of steel tables that my pups are never comfortable on.  All of the vet techs and front office staff are very sweet as well. Very impressed with Bernarda for all 3 dogs that I've brought here. Friends that I referred have loved them as well. Don't be thrown off by the fairly unassuming appearance from the outside. The most compassionate, knowledgable Dr I have ever been to with my cat. After dealing with another Vet for 6 months of treating her cancer I found Dr Daroowalla who changed her diet and gave her quality of life for the last months that she was with me, she did NOT suffer, when the end came she went peacefully and everyone in that office was so respectful and caring. Switched over to Benarda Vet Clinic and Dr D a couple of years ago on recommendation of a family member who took her dogs there. She was able to remove the large tail tumor when my regular vet of 20+ years seemed perplexed by it. The manner in which all animals and people are treated here keeps me happily coming back, pads on the floor for exams instead of scary, slippery tables; happy, efficient staff to support all the efforts; comfortable waiting room and even a sign on the desk, that can be activated when needed alerting folks to someone dealing with having to put a beloved pet down and to be respectful of their space. This is the level of caring concern extended every time to everyone walking in the door, regardless of how many legs they have! LOVE this place! Read Less

I have been taking my sweet canine family member to Benarda Veterinary Hospital since 2004, along with a few found foster cats and dogs. They have been nothing but awesome since day one. They are patient, gentle, compassionate, and professional. I like that besides the conventional veterinary services; they offer integrative medicine options including acupuncture, herbal consults and nutrition. Very poor service. I had been recommended to see Dr. Bernarda but she was never available - they always try to talk to you into a different doctor. Ok so I agree to a different doctor and make an appointment. I show up early to my 930am appointment and at 1010am after waiting 40 minutes past the appointment time, still no doctor. Neither did a vet tech come and explain why - and there was no emergency happening, when I walked out there were two staff at the front desk just gossiping and goofing off. This is zero respect for clients time. HIGHLY suggest you go ELSEWHERE. Read Less
