My 10-year-old dog stopped eating and drinking five days ago, and he couldn’t even keep water down. An hour after I left the vet, he was hydrated, eating recommended food, and acting better. There wasn’t any wait time at all. The only time spent there was when tests were being done and analyzed or discussions took place. The staff from the receptionist, to the assistants, and to the doctor were all helpful, compassionate towards my dog and I, and very helpful. I utilized Briarcrest because it had the highest rating close to my home, and I (we) couldn’t be happier that I did. I would just like to start off by saying I've been coming to this office since the first time I owned a dog and my parents have brought their dogs here since I was a kid. Dr. Maki is great and is always very compassionate and gentle especially with my dog who is very shy. The vet techs also do a great job of making sure both me and my dog are comfortable and understand what's going on. We moved to this vet a few years ago after our previous vet got all corporate and uncaring. We picked Briarcrest pretty much because it was close by and couldn't be happier. Our two dogs aren't huge fans but the staff really do their best to make them feel more comfortable. Their facilities are top notch and clean. The veterinarians are great and the front desk and support staff are great too. We get appointments very fast, almost always the same day. When we need meds refilled those are usually ready in the same day too. I highly recommend Briarcrest. Read Less

Had to bring the family dog in for shots and I was glad this clinic was willing to take him in on a walk-in basis. The front receptionist was very kind and cordial. She gave us an over all idea what to generally expect on prices which was kind. We have had other clinics refuse to do this. The vet tech was super nice and the vet is marvelously thourogh and educated me about his care and breed temperament. The place doesn't smell terrible and it looks clean and upgraded. The review by "anonymous" is an outlier. Don't believe it. The office staff is very courteous. Anyone who has an attitude that the office is "high end" because it has some computer screens is liable to generate some pushback from the staff. The charges are always disclosed in advance. We get printouts showing the range of costs for the dental treatment for our cats depending on the exact services needed. They are as precise as they can be. Read Less

The folks at Briarcrest are absolutely fantastic. They have gone above and beyond for me and my three greyhounds more times than I can count; from providing a life saving surgery when 'specalists' said it couldn't be done and at half the cost, to diagnosing weird Valley Fever lumps, to dental cleanings and annual shots. The vets and staff have treated me and my dogs with compassion, respect and an unmatched level of friendly professionalism. I would recommend Briarcrest to anyone needing vet care for their pet (and in fact do recommend everyone I know to Briarcrest). I have an adopted 4 year old retired greyhound racer who is a tripod. Her life was saved at Briarcrest Veterinary Center. She lost her leg as a result of racing. I have complete trust in the care my companion receives at Briarcrest. I never have to wait long for appointments or to see a doctor, I get reminders when it is time for my companion's vaccinations and I receive a monthly newsletter which is very informative. Greyhounds need special medical care because they are physically different from all other dogs. It is easy to get an appointment, you are greeted by personable staff, and you are educated about your pet's condition/health by the veterinarian. Think twice before going to this clinic. Very nice atmosphere (office is very high end) explains the costly invoices. The doctors do not go over estimated cost at time of visit and turn around and expect you to pay astronomical prices!!! We had others that warned us about this, too and we should have listened. Our small poodle had a seizure around 5:00 PM, and I called Briarcrest to see if I could bring him before they closed. I was told to bring him in right away even though I didn't have an appointment. WORST VETERINARY CENTER EVER!!! I took my dog there for an exam and before Dr. Nolasco came in the room I asked the nurse how much this was going to cost and she gave me an estimate and told me that it included blood work. When Dr. Nolasco came into the room I told her about how I was a little concerned about my dog because she was throwing up a lot and not really wanted to eat so she suggested doing blood work on her to try and figure out what the problem was. My boyfriend and I gave her the ok because the nurse had told us that blood work was included in the package that we were already paying for. When we went back a few hours later to pick her up the front desk lady told us that our bill was almost $400.00! I asked why and she said it was because of the blood work that we had done. I told her that we were informed that it was included in the $100.00 package. She explained to us that they did "extensive blood work." I asked to talk to Dr. Nolasco about this and when I did she had no sympathy what-so-ever. She didn't offer to reduce my bill at all, and made it seem like it was our fault. I will NEVER EVER return to this vet, and I do not recommend Briarcrest Veterinary Care Center to ANYONE!!! All this place wants is your money. They will do anything to rip you off. Read Less

When our 5 year old dog, our bestest friend was extremely I'll, he was treated with the utmost love, concern, and caring as if he were their dog. Although initially he could hardly stand and walk, they got him up and back to himself in 3 days! Unfortunately a few weeks later he came down with an incurable cancer that they just couldn't fix. Great care, kindness, and understanding about financial concerns. I noticed an oozing crater on the rump of our sons cat this morning. We did not have a relationship with a vet so checked yelp and saw good reviews.  Barbara fit us in within the hour and Dr. Maki cared for our cat.  She gave us a detailed estimate of costs before doing anything and came up with ways to save some money (giving meds at home vs injections in the office.)  in addition, she was willing to try a more conservative treatment approach and to save other, more costly,  treatments in the event this was not successful. - although from her exam findings she thought this would be sufficient. The exam was thorough and Dr. Maki explained what was going on. The technician reviewed how to administer the meds before we left.All in all, we were very impressed with the practice and set up an appointment for the routine care of our dog. Our dog had what seemed to be a simple eye problem but had my wife very concerned. We took her in to get her checked out. Dr. Maki gave us several initial diagnoses, one of which was very ominous. They would need to run tests which would take a few days to get results. The next day Dr. Maki called to check how it was going with the eye drops she prescribed and asked how the dog was doing. This was much unexpected and went above and beyond what she had to do.The results came two days later and the news was devastating. Our poor pooch had weeks at most. As she began to deteriorate follow-up visits were necessary to check her progress and make sure the eye problem didn't claim her vision. During this process Dr. Maki seemed genuinely concerned for our dog as a doctor and as a person. Her "bedside manner" was outstanding, treating our dog as though she truly cared about her.It soon became painfully obvious it was time to end our pet's suffering. My wife, daughters and I tearfully gathered to say goodbye. Dr. Maki gently explained how it would all work, what the dog would be going through and what we should expect. She treated our family as well as she treated our family pet.As soon as we get over this and consider getting a new puppy all his/her veterinary care will be handled by Briarcrest because Dr. Maki and staff really do seem to care about pets... and people.R.
