I scheduled an appointment for our 6yr old Chaweenie Matti to have her dew claws clipped, a physical and her anal glands expressed. I arrived at the appoinment 15 minutes early as instructed. When Matti and I walked in the receptionist was a bit distant and seemed bothered with our interuption. She advised me to fill out a form, so I did and Matti and I waited. While we were waiting, one of the vet techs, who was behind the front counter with the receptionist was upset with something going on with his co-workers and decided to vent with the receptionist. He said "people just need to focus, things are getting missed and stuff's not getting done! if I need help I will ask for it, otherwise leave my area alone" . He seemed very frustrated. At this point the only thought running through my head is "this jack ass is not touching my dog"....so I went to the receptionist, retrieved Matti's records that I brought and left letting the receptionist know that there is a really bad energy in this animal hospital and they are not touching Matti. When I got home, I called their office to speak to the Office Manager. I was told there isn't an office manager, only the vets. I asked to speak to one of them and was asked why. Mind you this is the same receptionist that was cold and distant face to face. When I explained who I was and what I experienced and that I want to let the vet know why they lost a customer, she became very sweet on the phone and assured me the Vet would call me back. We will see. DO NOT USE THIS ANIMAL HOSPITAL!!!! BAD ENERGY!!! Read Less

My godmother referred me here when I complained to her about not finding any vets around Vail/Rita Ranch that I A) Liked. and B) Could afford.I was SUPER impressed with CAH and Dr. Samuels! Their prices are very competitive, and the service is A+. Although it is a 45 minute drive for me, each way, I will definitely be going back here for my dog's regular needs in the future. My senior citizen dog needed a benign tumor removed, and their quote was about 1/3 what I was expecting (and the price included take home meds after surgery plus the follow up appointment). The vet techs and Dr. Samuels were both great with her, even though she is a bit skittish with strangers. She calmed down pretty quickly, which I was amazed at. Pleasant bedside manner is not a necessity at a vet really if they are competent, I know. But it was much appreciated. We just had her stitches removed, 2 weeks post op, yesterday. Easy peas-y. In and out in less than 15 minutes! Read Less

My parents took our dogs to Dr. Miller when I was growing up because she was a family friend, so when I moved out and got a cat I went to her as well, thinking little of it. After all the problems the cat has had, we've gone in 4-5 times per year and Dr. Miller and Dr. Samuels and staff have way exceeded our expectations. The diagnosis and prescriptions have been right and worked every single time, first time. They don't charge for follow up appointments, and even when our cat had an obscure eye issue, Dr. Miller knew exactly what was going on. Our cat is absolutely miserable the whole drive over, but as soon as Dr. Miller gets into the room, her energy completely relaxes him, and he lets her check him out all over where he'd normally bite. Wouldn't take any pet anywhere else, and would highly recommend to anyone. Read Less

Some very important keywords come to mind: Competence, Intelligence, Superior Quality animal care, Compassionate staff & doctors, and Affordability. I was referred to Dr. Samuels about a year ago by my friend who runs the local reptile rescue. My Australian Sugar Glider had a case of hind leg paralysis and Dr. Samuels helped me find the solution that lead to full mobility and health within less than a month!!! My pets are like children to me, and finding the right veterinarian is much like finding the right pediatrician for your child. I have sugar gliders, ferrets & dogs, and they are all seen at Central Animal. In my opinion, Dr. Samuels & his staff are TRULY the kind of caring people that you know absolutely for certain will do the best they can for your beloved animals. I can guarantee you that they are the best in this entire county when it comes to the veterinary medicine of exotics. We have been through happy & sad times at the vet, and they have always been there for us - the level of compassion and love for animals is apparent in all they do, and it truly makes a difference in easing your mind, especially during times of heartache or loss or worry. Other veterinarian hospitals in the area would charge you 10 times the amount, treat you like a number, and discard your animal like a worn out shoe. Trust me, I know this from experience. There is nothing that compares to Central Animal Hospital, Dr. Samuels & his staff. They are all amazing people, and I have no idea what me, my 6 ferrets, 3 sugar gliders & 2 dogs would do without them. If you want someone who cares about treating human beings AND animals with respect & wonderful service, this is the place for you. As an animal activist and rescuer, I not only endorse this place but I also say that the life of your pet depends on going to this place in lieu of other vets who claim to treat exotics but truly have no idea what they're doing. 5 Stars is not enough to express how top of the line this place is. Just book your next vet visit with them and see the difference :) Read Less

Read Less

Fantastic Experience! Great building, and caring docs. We needed a minor cyst removed and our previous Vet quoted us a ridiculous price. This was very surprising as we had been with them for over 14 years... We're not cheapskates, but just felt like we were getting ripped off. The doctor was very caring, performing the surgery for less than 1/2 the cost of the previous quote, and even following up the day after.

Read Less

My wife has been taking our two dogs here since they were pups and I've heard they love Dr. Miller. I only recently experienced them and Dr. Miller and her staff are awesome. Super friendly and excellent with our two big rowdy dogs - taking them their together made us nervous but they did alright and the staff was great with them. When I called in to get some rabbies paperwork that I couldn't find - they were really helpful and faxed it over immediately. Great place and I'm glad my dogs are in good hands.
