What a great FULL SERVICE vet clinic! we took our new puppy there, they took the time to calm him down and really examine him. They also offer "packages" which allows you to pay once and get all the necessary treatment over the next 6 months to year paid up front with a great discount. They explained everything clearly and in easy to understand terminology, and left the decisions to us, we didn't feel like we were being sold a bill of goods, or being pressured into any decisions. The tech's are all incredible too, I was truly impressed. All in all, a great experience. Read Less

Everyone from the office staff to the veterinarian here are just awesome. They fit me in, as a new client, last minute because my dog was not feeling well. I was nervous about my dog, about the cost and how long it would take. They exceeded my expectations on every level. Discussed the plan of care with me and an estimate of costs. Vet took time to speak with me when I know she had a very busy morning. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience here and will certainly be bringing the rest of my animals here as well. Thank you all SO much!!! Read Less

I write this review with a troubled heart because I don’t really like writing negative reviews, but in this instance, I feel that I must speak my feelings about Cimarron’s service and attitude. I made an appointment to have our Beagle spayed on March 5, 2018. I requested a price and told that it would be $225.00. I made financial plans for the cost and took Alice in on March 5 to have the operation. When I was in the exam room, I was asked which operation package I wished? I found this unsettling and state that I had been quoted a price of $225.00. The tech replied that was their lowest cost package and that I would have to pay $484.00 if I wanted the “Full Service” package. This absolutely floored me and naturally, I became upset and told the tech this sounded a lot like the “Bait and Switch” deals much like you would expect from a car salesperson! I would like to add at this point that the “Certified Tech,” as she called herself, had insulted Alice when I took her in as a puppy. She had told me that I must neuter her right away because Alice was from a puppy mill and was not fit to breed. Consistently, the techs attitude went straight down hill from comments and I felt I should leave the room for a few minutes before I called this twit of a tech just what I thought! When I came back a really nice young lady with a beautiful smile was waiting for me: and naturally, I agreed to the “Full Service” package because who would want to subject their pet to a cut rate job…I’ve been in medicine all my life and I have never heard of any doctor offering cut rate services when it concern a person’s or animal’s life. The operation was done and Alice is fine, but I really have a bitter taste in my mouth about Cimarron. I have had other issues with unbelievable charges on my cat as well. I am not happy with this place at all! I have waited a few weeks for the Vet who owns the Cimarron to give me a call and apologize for the “bait and switch” ploy and assure me this would not happen again. I would also hope she would adjust the Certified Tech attitude a bit. She has failed to do so, thus I feel I am compelled to share my experience with the public. I feel as though Cimarron uses the love we have for our pets to get that extra or sometime unnecessary dollar from our pockets. Read Less

For 6 months my dog has went to Cimarron animal hospital. At my dogs initial visit I purchased the puppy package which included 3 visits, DA2PPC 1 and 2 vaccination, Bordetella, and rabies. During 3 visits with my dog the staff was great and went out of their way to help in every way.  In the last week I have had issues obtaining an itemized list of shots that were given to my dog to forward to another facility. Today I went in and spoke with the receptionist and we discovered that my dog was never given the Bordetella vaccination at 11 weeks. Since Bordetella was included on the puppy package and I was told at my 3rd and final visit that my dog was up to date on shots I boarded him at a pet hotel for 3 days. Luckily my dog is well and not sick, but he was put at unnecessary risk due to an unfortunate mistake. We discontinued services with this vet. Read Less

As new residents of Tucson, we hadn't had a chance to establish a new veterinarian for our elderly kitty, so when she recently became ill, we reached out to Cimarron Animal Hospital for emergency help. Although we couldn't prevent the fatality of her condition and our story ended in tears, we are so very grateful to Dr. Bohkne, Denise and staff, for the compassion and care they gave to our beloved kitty and to us. I've had to bring my dog in several times because allergies are just a persistent menace and compared to the local national chain, I feel like my little family has gotten much more love and attention here than anywhere else. The weekend hours and the quick turnaround for a call back have been very helpful, making this place that much more dependable and overall excellent. The only reason there is a missing star on my rating is because of the limited use of the pet care plan/wellness plan. My pooches may not even need the the maximum number of visits but I'm still debating whether that cap is going to be a deal breaker ... the jury is still out on that one, but I definitely recommend this place! I cannot recall the name of the vet that I saw.....but here's the scenario.  We had a 17 year old dalmation (yep, 17 years old). Actually, he was my husband's ex-girlfriend's dog that we had been taking care of for over 2 years.  After time, she would not do what she was supposed to do to take care of "her dog."   His hip displasia was beginning to get worse and worse.  So, I took matters into my own hands and brought the dog to this vet.The dog was well fed, excercised, bathed and all in all WELL taken care of.  The vet started of rude before even hearing the dog's issues.  After she explained that it would cost upwards of $1000 to help the dog.  I explained that we did not have that amount of money and that the dogs owner refused to take care of him.  I had also explained that the dog was 17 and that the hip displasia could not be fixed and unfortunately his time was limited.  She basically called me a liar and said the dog was 14 (although, I knew for a fact the age of the dog).   But I asked her for pills to help ease his pain.  She told me that I was a bad owner and that I had no compassion for animals.  Are you kidding me?!?!?! I just spent over $200 on a dog that I had been taking care of for over 2 years that was not even mine.To top things off, after the appointment, the elevator to go back downstairs would not work and I had to carry the dog down 2 flights of stairs.  They called me for a follow up and I explained why I would not be returning.  2 weeks later, they called me again, and a few weeks after that, they called me again.  Now, they have added me to their email list. A great veterinarian, and a great clinic! Dr. Deb Bohnke and her staff are knowledgeable, compassionate, and genuinely care about the health of the animals they see. Most importantly, they go out of their way to work with clients, fit in emergency appointments, help owners understand what's going on with an animal's health, and how to treat (or prevent) a problem so your pet is happy and healthy. I have used their services for several years, during which they treated two of my geriatric dogs, and two younger dogs, including one who had a serious blood infection. I know their care extended the time I had with my pets, and continues to improve the time my family shares with the two who are still with us. Finding the right verterinarian is as hard as finding a good family Doctor -- it's not just about whether the Doctor knows the medicine (which Dr. Bohnke does), it's about whether they listen to the owner (the person who knows the animal better than anyone), care about the pet, and can work with the owner. I feel like I found the right veterinarian when I found Cimmarron Animal Hospital, and highly recommend her to anyone who needs a good veterinarian. Read Less

Our first vet in Tucson operated on the "I'll have my assistant bring in the medical plan" plan -- which almost always included everything but the kitchen sink (including liberal use of his own expensive equipment). On one visit, that very same doc mixed up the files of two of my dogs he encouraged me to bring in together. Two times, he spent more time trying to sell me one of this own music CDs than he did talking about my dogs! When my dread of going to the vet exceeded my dogs' dread level, it was time to look elsewhere. Cimarron Animal Hospital is even closer to my house than the first vet. Wow, Tucson is really lucky to have a veterinary clinic like Cimarron Animal Hospital.  I take Kitty in for her normal checkups here, but over the weekend she got really sick so I called Saturday morning and they were able to get her in right away.  I didn't even think they'd be open, let alone able to see her- I envisioned having to go to a scary 24 Hour place with a vet I didn't know, etc. They talked me through everything they were going to do and were SO nice- they even have a special exam room for cats which is nice- they line the table with fleece so Kitty isn't sliding all over the metal table, and they have kitty treats and everything.  Small touches like that really let you know that they care about ALL animals; that they aren't dog-centric who occasionally see cats.  We ended up taking x-rays and doing some bloodwork, and a final diagnosis couldn't be reached, but they did treat her for her dehydration and give her meds for her nausea and other symptoms.  They also sent me home with some medication and special food for her GI distress.  Talk about convenient- they had it ALL in-house.  They even cut up her pills (she was to take 1/4 pill).  Man, even MY pharmacist doesn't do that for me!Here's the awesome part- they sent me home with her X-Rays and labwork results in case I needed to have her admitted to the Emergency Vet (they gave me a card with their info on it, too), so that they would have a heads up as to what was going on.Thankfully, Kitty is feeling better so she didn't need a trip to the Emergency Vet, but I had peace of mind when we were home over the weekend that she'd be in excellent hands due to the legwork that Cimarron Animal Hospital did for her.  I am so thankful for the time and effort they put in for Kitty- we were there until 1:30 (they close at 1 on Saturdays) and they all went above and beyond when they could have said "Sorry, we're closed, you need to take her somewhere else".I highly recommend Cimarron Animal Hospital- they are so friendly and their prices are reasonable.  Give them a try if you're on the eastside- you won't regret it!

Read Less
