Dr. Kauffman is a fantastic veterinarian.  His office feels like a family practice - small and clean, not flashy, friendly staff, and comfortable.  Just like I like it.I recently moved to the area and had to find a local vet to update my pug dog's shots.  I also had a cat that was old and very sick, and knew I would need his services soon.  I stopped in for an estimate on vaccinations for my pug dog, and asked about euthanasia for my cat (some time in the future).  The receptionist was very kind, friendly, and gave me printed estimates, with line item detail of the vaccinations, office visit, etc..  A girl after my own heart.  I made an appointment for Buster's vaccinations a week or so out.Before I could take my dog for his vaccines, my cat made a turn for the worst.  I called them and they were able to get me in within 24-hours, and I think even stayed late to take the appointment.  (I know the Doc's schedule was overbooked because he was heading toward vacation.)  I can not express to you how wonderful Dr. Kauffman and his assistant were during the process.  He took his time, did not rush anything, explained everything, and they were so caring and comforting.  It is always difficult to let go of a pet, and the Desert Hills Pet Clinic made the process just a little easier for me.  I can not thank them enough.Remember that appointment for Buster?  I took him in to the office the next day.  Dr. Kauffman gave him a great exam, very thorough, recommended area-appropriate vaccines and prevention, and was very knowledgeable about his breed.  Buster is on a diet to loose some weight, and overall, in pretty good shape for an old boy of 8 years or so.  Desert Hills Pet Clinic is my new vet. If there could be more stars, I would add to these. Dr. Kaufman is a caring and very knowledgeable doctor. I feel very comfortable in taking my Chihuahuas to see him when the time arises. My dog was really itchy and in need of her vaccinations. I looked for a vet that was close by the house that I could get her into the same day. I was concerned that she might be having an allergic reaction to a new food I was trying with her. The staff was very thorough in asking questions about her condition. She was a little scared about being around new people but they gave her several treats and she calmed down some. She got her vaccines and they prescribed some oil to add to her food and I picked up some Benadryl to give her in addition to the oil. She is clearing up nicely and I have a new vet! All services were given a prior written estimate which I liked. I don't like surprises at the vet.... or anywhere else for that matter. Read Less

I've brought my dog Tanner here twice and the staff is wonderful. Tanner is a very anxious dog and Dr. Kaufman spends as much time as is needed to calm Tanner down and make sure the appointment isn't traumatizing and is a positive experience instead. The rest of the staff are very warm and helpful and seem to truly care about each pet and greet each customer by name. Dr. Kauffman is the best vet that we've found in Tucson. Him and his team were extremely helpful when it came to diagnosing our dog with nose mites.They made sure that everything was okay and worked with us to find the lowest-cost option that would still have the same effect since our budget was low.I would 100% recommend Desert Hills Pet Clinic to anyone, it is worth the drive no matter which side of town you reside in. Thank goodness for Dr. Kaufman, his wife Sennuy, and their vet techs. We have quite the zoo of animals (a blind Pomeranian and three cats); these little guys are our family, so we were very particular about finding the right vet for us when we moved to Tucson.Dr. Kaufman is incredibly kind and knowledgeable. We have had some difficult, challenging pet ailments to handle since we arrived in Tucson, and he has gone above and beyond to offer guidance and medical care more than any other vet has in the past. Moreover, his attention outside of the office is incredible. When our kitten was sick, Dr. Kaufman wrote up emails with lab results over the weekend and made phone calls to make sure we had all the information available, and that we had the best plan possible. We felt as at ease as possible as we could given the tense situation, and that was all thanks to Dr. Kaufman.Nothing but good things to say about this amazing place. We love them. Dr. Kaufmann is the best!!  I use to go to Banfield, and realized that the care my dog was receiving from them was terrible.  I stopped by a vet close to where I lived, they were booked and recommended Dr. Kaufmann.  Well there aren't enough good things to say about Dr. Kaufmann.  He is so knowledgeable, and doesn't suggest anything unnecessary for the purpose of profit.  The staff is always so kind and so helpful.  Dr. Kaufmann's wife manages the front desk and is awesome.  They are true animal lovers and want what is best for your pet.  They don't sell gimmicks or lies, but honesty and true concern for you pets well being.  Dr. Kaufmann is the only vet for me!!  I have recommended him to both my sister and mother, and pretty much anyone who has a pet or has inquired about an excellent veterinarian.  This message approved by Zoe and Orson (pug).  hehehe Read Less
