Four Paws Veterinary Clinic

Tucson, Arizona
General Info
Four Paws Veterinary Clinic extends its services throughout Tucson and Arizona by engaging in mirrored interaction techniques where staff stand as pets rise and remain motionless when they settle. The practice of caring emerges from a foundation of energetic respect. Each visit begins with a calibration process that records the pet's entry method along with their speed of orientation and the nature of their gaze whether it rests or flickers. Care emerges through mirrored actions from that point forward. Whenever a feline spirals the personnel retreats. When a dog begins to lean it gently moves forward. Touch is never hurried because it waits for stable readiness signals before proceeding. Silence finds frequent use while interaction contrasts are meticulously planned: stillness follows sound, light emerges after dimness, and space appears following proximity. Four Paws Veterinary Clinic delivers medical services spanning dermatology treatments, nutritional adjustments, joint health management, disease detection programs, and pain relief therapies. They implement decision trees to replace sequence enforcement: when alertness levels increase, diagnostics halt. They continue if calm deepens. This logic enables historically anxious animals to complete exams without entering a downward spiral. Discharge protocols are tailored to mirror cues: when to close distance, when to dim interaction, and how to use rhythm (like meals or walks) to restore regulation. Families obtain emotional pacing guidance instead of solely medical aftercare. The delicate adjustments transform the homecoming experience into a genuine return instead of a clinic reverberation. Four Paws Veterinary Clinic delivers its unique veterinary approach from Tucson to homes throughout Arizona by first listening before speaking, reflecting before handling, and responding before prescribing.

Was extremely happy with my first visit with my sick pup, Willow. Wish more people were like the staff and doctor at Four Paws, unlike at the place recommended by PACC. I will never go back to 24 hr Animal Emergency Services on Speedway. They tried to keep my pup for services that would of cost me just under 2,000.00 when they could of sent me home with medication for her (Four Paws sent me home with a med that cost 13.00). Beware of places like them, wish I knew before going, never again. Read Less

5 month old puppy stepped on a jumping Cholla. I was able to remove most of it on my own, but there was one needle left. I stopped at the PetSmart right there to get some puppy safe wound cleaner and see if they had any better ideas. Seeing the clinic I walked over. I explained what happened. NOONE (patients) was in there. Noone was at the front desk either, but quickly came around from the back. I don't know if I spoke to the Dr, Vet tech or the receptionist, but she politely told me to bugger off. She said in a very pleasant tone "yeah, we don't have any appointments available for today or tomorrow.". I said that this seems more of an emergency type situation and it's only one needle. She sad "yeah, sorry." She never gave suggestions or an alternative such as a doctor/clinic or a salve I could put on it. She never gave reassurance that my puppy would be OK for a couple days and/or asked me to make an appointment. As a pet lover (as you would hope your vet would be) how could you turn away a puppy that just needed one Cholla needle removed? Speaks volumes. I will never return. Read Less

My sister and I took a puppy here for a quick exam and to give him a DAPP shot, which he needed yesterday. Long story short, on the way to the clinic he had an accident in his crate and had some poop on his paws when we got him out of the crate. An embarrassing accident, but the vet tech really made it a huge issue. She kept telling him that he was a gross, dirty, nasty puppy. Even suggested that my sister name him "Nasty." Look -- he was a scared puppy and had an accident. How about you just give us some paper towels and tell us to clean up his feet before the examination??Examination was sparse. Didn't weigh him. Vet barely looked at him. They just kept emphasizing that he was a day late on his DAPP shot. Yes, we're aware of that, our bad. But being one day late is not the worst thing in the world. After all, we've brought the puppy in to get the shot, so how about you don't make us feel like we're terrible people? Just mention it once, but don't keep beating a dead horse with the same stick. When it was time for the shot, the vet didn't even want to touch the dog because he had poop on his feet. I get it. That's nothing anyone wants. But again, you're a vet clinic. How about you let us wipe his feet down with some paper towels or something? Maybe spend five minutes and go put his feet in the sink? I get it --you want to rush people in and out. But it was unprofessional not to want to care for the dog carefully while giving him a shot. And she kept tapping him on the nose while giving him the shot like he was misbehaving or something, but he was just sitting there. Didn't like the way they treated him. DAPP shot was $32 (overpriced!). I would be happy to pay this if I felt like the overall experience was worth it. But it wasn't. Also, this place decided that they were going to trash talk the Humane Society (where this puppy has been adopted from) in front of the people that adopted him! No "thanks for adopting" or anything like that. Just a lot of bad things to say about the Humane Society. I get it -- they aren't my favorite place in the world either and have issues -- but should you really start bashing them to someone that just adopted a puppy from them?! How about you work with the Humane Society, not against them. For that alone, I'd be willing not to come back here. I really wanted to like this place. I see a lot of older reviews that show maybe this is not their normal behavior, or wasn't in the past. But just because of this experience and the unprofessional nature of the vet tech and staff I encountered today, I don't  think I will be back. A tip to this business: Teach your staff not to bash places where caring people are trying to adopt and rescue dogs. And if a puppy has an accident, don't act like dogs don't have accidents when they're scared, in a crate, and at a new place. It makes it seem like you've never seen a dog shit before -- and you're vets, so hopefully you have! Read Less

So I never thought I'd review a vet clinic on Yelp, but I've had such good experiences here, and what with my cat's recent slew of visits.... I'm feeling the need to voice my appreciation. I am a relatively new cat owner, but said new cat happens to be an extremely bony old grandpa cat, which means that for the past few years, I have been neurotic borderline unreasonable when it comes to watching over his health. And every time I come to this clinic, I leave happy with the visit. 1. The staff are SUPER welcoming, compassionate, and respectful. They always treat me and the kitty with warmth and kindness, and I can't think of a time I wasn't able to get a same-day appointment. 2. Dr. Mary is extremely intelligent -- as indicated by both her practice and the degree in veterinary medicine from Cornell!!!!! -- and always lays out suggestions and options when it comes to treatments. She doesn't push unnecessary procedures, medications, or appointments, and has helped my poor little dude with a variety of issues, from dental to respiratory to allergic to skin-lump related. 3. On top of it all, the office is neat and clean, and with all the windows and natural sunlight, it makes what might be a scary place for pets feel homey, comfortable, and inviting. I am completely satisfied with my experience at this clinic and will continue to be a patron when it comes to my current and future pets. Read Less

Although the prognosis for kitty was not as good as we had hoped, I was very satisfied with the experience at this clinic. The staff is professional and friendly, and also kind in recognizing how awesome my cat is. I was able to get a  convenient next day appointment, twice. The office is small, and I didn't have to wait at all on my first visit; we went right into the examining room. On the second visit, I only had to wait a minute. Dr. Mary is knowledgeable and seemed to care very much for the health of my cat.  We were not charged for our follow-up visit, and Dr. Mary even suggested that we would not have to bring him in if his condition worsened in the future, that she could just phone in a prescription if we needed.

We moved here from Florida 5 years ago, the base Davis Monthan recommended Dr.Mary.  We adopted a Malti-poo from a rescue and he had Kennel cough very bad within a day...  Dr. Mary literally saved his life.  He  went down to 4 lbs. I just new he would pass.  Well I'm happy to say he is a HEALTHY 18 lb. baby boy : )She is not only a wonderful Veternarian, she really cares.  We drive almost an hour to see her with all 3 of our dogs.  Yes, we could go to a dozen places  a lot closer to home, but the best is worth it and Dr.Mary certainly is .  I could go on and on.Thank you Dr. Mary for all your great care of our babies.
