We have been long time patients of Ina Road Animal Hospital and after our last visit seeing Khalsa Gurushabd DVM I can say we will never be returning or recommending anyone else return. One of our dogs was injured in a dog fight and we brought her in to be seen. After they took the dog to the back and "assessed her injuries" we were presented with a treatment plan. The treatment plan was offered with two options, one included spaying the dog and treating the laceration and the other only treating the laceration. Both being excessively over priced in relation to the services offered. The sad part is the combined spaying and laceration treatment was the cheaper option of the two. When questioned on why the bills were astronomical and how an additional surgery combined with the needed treatment could be lower than just the needed treatment, I was given the answer of " its their beliefs" that drive the discounted rate. When asked why the discount couldn't be applied to just the needed laceration repair I was once again told the same. After being appalled by this answer I refused service from Khalsa Gurushabd DVM and asked for the return of my dog as I would take care of her elsewhere. I was then told I had to sign a waiver of service and pay an $60 office visit and was then presented with the dog. The dog whom was "assessed for injuries" was returned to me still dirty and completely un assessed. The following day I learned Pima County Animal Control was contacted out of spite with a report from Khalsa Gurushabd of animal abuse / negligence and requested an wellness check. But while the animal was in office, her compassionless "beliefs" only cared for money not the animal. Read Less

The entire staff, front office, vet tech and Veterinarian were VERY caring and professional. Unfortunately my dear kitty was very sick and I had to make the most difficult decision to let her go without any further suffering. The entire staff was so extremely compassionate and genuine. My fur babies mean the world to me and they know that there are many people like myself whom consider our pets to be part of the family. I would give zero stars if possible. We took our dehydrated puppy here. They charged us over 100 bucks for a parvo test which he already had at the animal shelter less than a week before. They then recommended 1 to 2 days at the hospital for fluid therapy at a cost of 3 to 5 thousand dollars. That's right. Three to five thousand dollars. When we said that was not remotely affordable they came back with a number of 700 to 1200 dollars. They didn't seem to care about our dehydrated puppy, but about how much money they could take us for. They could have given him some subcutaneous fluids for a reasonable price and helped us help our puppy. We felt a complete lack of sincerity and a single-minded attitude of exploiting us for money. Would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. UPDATE: We took our puppy to another vet and $65 and some fluid later he is feeling much better. His nose is moist and he's perked up. He did NOT need to be kept for 2 days and given iv fluids. He was mild/moderately dehydrated and a dose of subcutaneous fluids fixed him up. Three to five thousand dollars for a price quote and making us feel like irresponsible owners for not wanting to pay that. Never again. We are done with this place. Read Less

Everyone I interacted with at Ina Road was so caring and competent. This has been about the 5th vet clinic I've been to and by far the most personable. I rushed in here after my dog got hit by a car and they treated her right away. I have no idea what the cost of treating something like that would be somewhere else. They kept her overnight and estimated it would be $1800, but it ended up being around $1300. They have insisted I call at any time with any questions and seemed to really care about Scout's well-being. Read Less

We were on a road trip recently, with our three doggies. One of the dogs became ill before we arrived in Tucson. Being 2000+ miles from home, we searched for an after-hours vet late at night. Ina Road was the only vet clinic that would see Ms Tinkie. Staff were straight forward, diagnosed the issue quickly and provided medication. Ms Tinkie showed a marked improvement the next day, and continued to do so. Staff called the next day, and a few days later to check on Ms Tinkie, and the other dogs. By now were in Bisbee, and one of our other dogs came down with the same illness. Ina Road vet urged us to go to the nearest vet and get the medication. The only vet available at the time was nearby in Sierra Vista was part of a large chain. They wanted to conduct every test on the books, prescribe every medication on the shelf despite us advising we have been through this. After receiving their quote for services and bill, we argued we did not need any of these tests, and we do not need anti-nausea medication, the dog did not need to be vaccinated. The dog was not throwing up. We were finally able to walk out with just the medication we requested (per Ina Road's recommendation). Did we receive follow up from this clinic in Sierra Vista - NO... Did we receive follow-up from Ina Road - YES several calls in the week after we left Tucson checking on Ms Tinkie, and the other doggies. Not even our home-town Vet calls in to check on the doggies !!!!! Forever grateful for the prompt service, and being affordable given it was after-hours.Read Less

I took my 133lb male Great Pyrenees to an appointment at 7pm for them to check his ears. He does not like other male dogs and does not like going to ina road animal hospital since being neutered there. To protect others i muzzle him and they put him directly in a room. I arrived about 15 minutes early , the examination rooms are tiny and it was about 80 degrees in the room. A Great Pyrenees has a thick coat even in summer and he was in FULL winter coat for this appointment. After about 40 minutes, i knocked on the inside door, when opened, i asked there was a problem. My dog was nervous, hot, trying to pant while muzzled. I was told there was no problem, it would be about another 20 minutes. I said i was taking him home and was asked if i would like to reschedule. Yeah right. I would hope no one, especially a vet clinic would subject a huge dog with a huge coat to such dangerous conditions. He is young in perfect condition and strong as a bull, but what if he wasn't. Poor guy was dying for a drink when i got him home. Had to put my kitty to sleep in May.. I went in there expecting gentleness and love and apparently terrible things happened... my kitty got loose in the back because he wasn't restrained and he bit one of the people there and they did not tell me everything that happened before they finally gave him something to calm him down and I was waiting room forever and when they finally brought him into me.. he of course was sort of out and tightly Bound in a blanket and I could see some kind of green tape around his chest and I don't know why that was there... when it was over they told me that they would have to test him for rabies and I said what does that entail and the guy told me well you don't want to know and he was rude about it... .. the next day I believe it was Mark called me and said he watched the video tape and apparently his people needs training of how to do these procedures correctly and that I didn't have to pay for the euthanasia and that he didn't have to he checked for rabies...I will not go back there. it hurts so deeply to know were I took my kitty and what he ended up going through... and when I got my kitties remains back the staff had even given the lady who does the cremations the wrong date of his death and I had to call the lady myself to get it straightened away..... the front office wouldn't even call and by the way the lady who does The Cremations is an angel .....she was very very nice and sent me a new corrected label to put on his cremation box....... I am posting this today because I'm having to put his brother sleep today and even though I will not go back there... it still scares me but the new vet did tell me that it will be gentle and caring....... *****Just a afterwards here... I did put my kitty to sleep today and I cannot express the difference between Ina Road hospital and where I took my kitty today ..my goodness..it was so gentle and so loving and done with such respect and love totally different than the way on ina road hospital did their euthanasia.. I was shocked ..and so happy. .. there was no stress. there was no anxiety for my kitty .there was just gentle talking from the staff .General touching from the doctor ..lovingly touching him and soothing him.. they gave him the shot while he was in my arms to relax him and when he was all relaxed and comfortable then they went and put the needle in and brought him back to me .... when the doctor carried him... she cradled him in her arms and talkd to him and loved him .. it was amazing.. and then he was gently put to sleep when I was ready ...with so much love in that room.. . I cannot thank them enough .. I would not recommend using this place to have your loved one put to sleep ..they do not do it with the love and the gentleness that I experienced today ...Read Less

I had to take my beloved Chihuahua here a week ago. We still don't know what she had, as the parvo tests came back negative, but that didn't rule out parvo completely. She was 11 months old and in good health until the last days of her life. We couldn't make her suffer and make her try to fight whatever it was. Her breathing was already heavily declining, and she was shutting down from the inside. The vets of course gave us some options to try to help, but we decided to put her down, as we couldn't put our beloved Padfoot through misery. Our princess Padfoot was put down here on 9/14/2016. The vets were very caring and loving in what they were doing. Today, a week and a day later, we received a hand written condolence letter from the Ina Road vet staff. There were messages of sympathies and sharing our sadness for our loss. I have never received anything other than a printed out poem of "Rainbow Bridge" for the loss of a loved dog and companion, that was mass printed and produced. The hand written notes from the employees were not expected, but were so very much appreciated. The first time I took my dog to Ina Road Animal Hospital was Christmas Day, 2013. I'd given her a marrow bone and two of her bottom teeth got lodged in the hole in the bone. I was frantic although my dog wasn't (she just kept licking the stuck bone). I called and they told me to come right in. It took some doing but they cut it off her teeth while keeping her calm. Six months later I had to take her in because one of her back legs went lame. Dr. Reed does acupuncture and we did that for a few months. Each treatment was a lovely exercise in quiet and tranquility. Dr. Reed would pet her and talk quietly and softly to her. Dr. Reed and the rest of the staff have been wonderful. They treat my dog (and me) as if we're family, are always happy to see us and do a good job. They're gentle with my dog; pet her, soothe her and generally make her comfortable in surroundings that can be scary in the best of circumstances. I really like this animal hospital. Read Less

I called them September 29th 2017, the last of my elder kitties needed an emergency visit, they were able to get her in.

I really like the staff. Read Less
