My husband and I both grew up in the country with pets and around lots of farm animals. I have plenty of experience with vets and all kinds of animal health and injury issues. I have been in Tucson for 20 years and never been completely satisfied with vet care around Tucson like I have been with Dr. Miller. I’m so glad I found him, he reminds me of the laid back country vets I grew up seeing. The care he has provided my many pets is fantastic. Recently my dog was attacked early in the morning and needed emergency care for a large wound. I took her in first thing in the morning and he was able to fit her in and close up her large wound same day. There were no extra emergency care charges and the cost was reasonable. The staff was so caring and willing to give my dog the extra comfort she needed after a traumatic event. Finally I have found a vet office that feels like home and I can trust. Thank you Dr. Miller and staff. Read Less

If you want compassionate and good care for your pet DO NOT GO HERE I am new to Tucson and went to this vet on the PACC's recommendation, where I adopted my dog from. My dog was in pain and not moving well. I took him into Dr Millers office and this was our third visit there. I had always paid for visits and meds upfront previously, even though it's a very expensive office visit of $73.00 Dr Miller came in and had me get him from his lying position into a standing position, which was difficult for my dog. He had him walk around a bit BUT never touched my dog, never tried to palpitate his limbs or anything one would expect for a dog that was suffering like mine. He then recommendrd having his anal glands excised and told me to leave him standing so it would be easier for the vet techs to do this. He then left and my dog and I were left for well over an hour!! I couldnt keep my poor dog standing that long. Finally two vet techs came in and did the excising. They told me to call back.the next day if he didn't improve. He did not. I called back and they told me the doctor was not in, which I found out was not true later, and unless I could pay the rest of my bill, all of $38 plus whatever the pain medicine cost, which turns out to be like $5.00 and should have been offered when I was there, they told me to.go.to.an emergency room!!..? Luckily I have a nice friend who volunteer's at PACC and when I told her this story she recommended Rosemont Vet Clinic. EXCELLENT vet place where my dog got the treatment he needed. Read Less

I've been bringing my cats to the Graham Miller Pet Hospital for years, and I have always appreciated the quality of care and the professional staff. Both cats are absolutely terrified by each and every visit, and that's before we even get there! I have always been able to make an appointment the same week that I call, even for simple things like vaccinations.Over the last five years, I've had both cats vaccinated, neutered, and declawed (which was really well done), plus teeth cleanings and extractions on one of the cats. The poor cat doesn't have many teeth left, but he does seem a lot happier with them gone. Dr. Miller explained the resorptive lesion disease that caused all of the tooth damage when it appeared during an annual exam. I never really see the cats' teeth and I was shocked to see how bad some of them looked (that cat was only 2 when he had it happen the first time). Dr. Miller was also able to answer all my questions about it.If you're reading about veterinarians on Yelp because you want somewhere you can really trust with your cat, this is what you're looking for. I had been to several other vets with a previous cat, and when I got a new cat, I chose Miller Pet Hospital on the recommendation of a friend. I drive 10 miles to get there, so I guess I feel like it's the best choice within 10 miles. I don't think you'll be disappointed. Read Less

We've been taking all of our dogs to Dr. Miller for a while now. He and his staff are wonderful. Our oldest dog recently had a piece of toy stuck in her intestines. Dr. Miller did all he could to avoid invasive surgery. He even arranged for x-rays and IV fluids on Thanksgiving day! When we ultimately had to go that route (i.e. surgery), he was very generous about helping us keep costs down for all the care he gave us. Wonderful! I'd give 15 stars if I could.  Dr. Miller is a saint.  Recently, our dog swallowed a piece of toy.  Dr. Miller did all he could to diagnose and treat her, even arranging for a follow-up visit on Thanksgiving!  We ultimately needed to take her for surgery.  When we went back for a follow-up visit, Dr. Miller knew the costs had gotten up there and was very reasonable with all of the charges that had accumulated, even waiving some.  He was in constant contact with us, and showed a level care you just don't expect from a vet.  If you're looking for a vet in Tucson, look no further.  We love Miller Pet Hospital.  We may be moving away from Tucson for work reasons, and are already dreading leaving Dr. Miller. He is an outstanding, dedicated vet with a competent and ever-present staff. You will always know your options when you have a sick animal -- Tom is compassionate but straightforward in his approach. I recently had to euthanize a dog who was incredibly special to me. Tom was in a car accident that morning but still came in and helped my dog in his transition to the next life. What an amazing man! We took our animals here when we lived in central Tucson, and the staff was excellent. Always very friendly for check-ups and shots! Plus, when we had a minor vet emergency one afternoon-- our Pomeranian's face swelled up like mad and we panicked-- they were able to get us in within the hour, reassure us that our dog was just having a mild reaction to a bee sting, give him antihistamines, and keep an eye on him until all was back to normal. Whew! He had to put our kitty down recently and didn't even charge us for the euthanasia.. just the oxygen treatments and office visit. The office visit price is almost half of what you would pay just down the street across Swan at the 24 hour place (which is a major rip off btw). I worked for Dr Miller and here are the Pros and Cons. I will not give my name nor will i hint at it. At first, Dr Miller was great then he seemed to turn into it for the money as the economy got worse. Clients who had been there for years all of a sudden were no longer to do payment plans unless they were his ""pets,"" good buddies or they kissed his...., you know. Everything was completely unorganized there. Cathy was the worst one to work for, a horrible office manager. Dr Miller was an amazing educator and i learned so much but because I had Cathy as my superior, the job was ruined. I had medical issues with Dr's notes and was told if i didn't work i would loose my job. Dr Miller does care about the animals but slightly may be loosing interest, tiring out. His strategy is helping the animals the most affordable way possible for owners yet able to get what he needs done. Now think about it, he's been working 6 days a week for probably 30 years now as a vet, surgeries 4 days a week, wouldnt you be tired and start to loose interest too? Read Less

I have known Dr. Miller for about 6 years. He has cared for my pets as well as my mother's dog. About a year ago one of my pets was picked up by animal control and even though all shots and immunizations were current he had to spend 10 days in quarantine. Dr. Millers office agreed to keep him so he would not have to remain at Animal control. After my cat had been there for about 3 days he questioned why they (animal control) would have deemed him such a bad cat. He then commented on his good behavior. My cat was happy there even though he was not in his home. I visited him every day. His kennel was immaculate and litter box clean. I even brought in a special diet. He was clearly given the best care during his 10 day stay. I will certainly recommend Dr. Miller to all of my friends and family. Read Less

I've been going to Dr. Miller for approximately twelve years. My families cats and dogs have all been cared for through Miller Pet and we have had many! Though I see negative reviews on bedside manner and sending people away with ""only pills"" I must say I will return. Dr. Miller is not an overly enthusiastic man, but I believe he is experienced and puts together a great team to run his business. My families' animals have never been the healthiest and we are by admission not the most careful pet parents but Dr. Miller did not overtly judge or purposefully mistreat one of my animals. A man must see many terrible things in the vet's office so I can forgive a somber attitude if it is replaced by experience and good direction. My good treatment by Dr. Miller and his staff has never gone unnoticed and being able to pay in payments has been one of the greatest blessings to my family. I cannot reiterate enough how helpful and accommodating Miller Pet Hospital has been to my family. If you need good care for your pets (and you) I would definitely recommend trying Dr. Miller. ""Hello Doctor Miller, Cathy, and tge entire staff at Miller Pet Hospital"", This Milton Kent Chalifoux. I first came to Dr. Miller's Haven for pets in 1992 to get his help with my dog who was eating 50 pounds of dogfood a month, but was extremely skinny, and loosing weight every day. I had declined going to a veterinarian, due to lack of funds for payment of services. My neighbors called Animal Control of Pima County, and after they seen, and checked my dog over gave me a manatory order to have him examined by a veterinarian, or criminal charges would be brought against me. Dr. Miller kept my dog for 2 days, and I spent as much time possible visiting him!!! He studied the labatory results, and the hound dog's condition, and his diagnosis was that dog food I was feeeding him caused him to loose weight. He gave me vitamins, a small bag of good dod food , and let me pay off my bill, in monthly payments that I could afford. I've been with Miller Pet Hospital now 16 1/3 years, and the care my pets have received has been in supreme excellence, unsurpassed by any other known pet hospital. I would gladly refer anyone to receive the professional animal care, the caring, and completely dedicated staff. But most of all, the love for animals, and the devotional care the entire staff bestows upon the sick, and injured animals in thier care is in my opinion is of 10 Star********** Excellence. Unfortunately I had a rather negative experience with Miller Pet Hospital. Our dog was very sick, and we weren't too sure what was going on with him. We were sent home from the first visit with some pills, and told that this should help clear things up if it was what he thought the problem was. Our dog reacted very well to the medicine, and all was fine. Well, fine until our dog could not keep any food down a few weeks later. Again, our dog was sent home with some meds. But, a few days later, he was unable to walk anymore. To make a long, painful story short, after multiple trips to the vet and constantly being treated like we were over reacting to something that we felt was a serious problem, our dog died a very painful death. At no time were we advised that what he had was very serious, or that we might want to condsider having him put down. Dr. Miller kept mentioning that the tests that needed to be ran was not in our budget (not that he knew what my budget was), and wouldn't give me exact answers when I asked what needed to be done. He just kept sending us home. I'm not sure if I was spoiled by my previous vet back in my hometown, but I have learned the painful lesson to trust my gut more, and get a second opinion if necessary. I will also like to add that whenever we called like we were asked to update, the Doctor always had to call us back, and it was never the same day. I'm not sure if we're just the exception when it comes to his clients, but I thought it fair to warn others when looking for a vet for their furry loved one. If you do choose Dr. Miller to take your pet to, I wish you the best of luck, and I hope you have a positive experience. I will say that the staff is very nice and understanding, and the office area is very clean. Read Less

I am not one who usually writes reviews but once I read the previous review I could not hold back. I have taken my pets to Dr. Miller for the last 12 years and have absolutely no complaints. I recently moved from Tucson and I am woried I will not be able to find as caring and understanding a vet as Dr. Miller. I have what you may call a ""difficult dog"". He does NOT like getting shots. Shot time is usually very tramatic for both my dog and myself, however Dr. Miller really worked with us and was so incredibly understanding. I believe Dr. Miller has a real passion for animals and it shows in his vast knowledge of the animals (all the animals) he cares for. For any question I have about new diseases, treatments, or shots he always has a thorough response. He never EVER recommends treatments you don't need like many other vets I've tried in Tucson have done. At other vets I felt like they were trying to sell me every possible shot or treatment under the sun. Dr. Miller is extremely knowledgeable and knows what you do and do not need. I have never felt like he was trying to sell me something I did not need and on several occasions he has advised me not to get something I was thinking was neccessary. On top of all this, when I had a sick cat that needed xrays and I was worried I did not have the money to pay, he told me not to worry about it, that we would work out a payment plan. I would trust the opinion of someone who went to this vet for 12 years rather than a person who had one unpleasant visit. Read Less

Being new in Tucson, I took this vet as a recommendation from a neighbor. The staff were caring, but this doctor could not have cared less. No bedside manner whatsoever and even seemed to dislike my pets. I got the distinct impression he was not happy in his profession and was only doing it for the money. Beware, there are much better vets in Tucson. Try Dr. Jody Miller at Valley Animal Hospital and you will not be dissapointed. Read Less

Read Less

Read Less

Dr. Graham Miller is WONDERFUL. He loves his patients (pet ones) and their owners. The staff is friendly and Dr Miller was more thorough than any other vet I have seen in town. He was wonderful and he remembers me and my family even when I see him at places outside of the office. The person who wrote the bad review must have been overly sensitive the day she went there. I would recommend Dr Miller to anyone. Read Less

I don't know what happened to the individual who wrote the negative review of Dr. Miller. Maybe he or she is overly sensitive. Maybe Dr. Miller was extremely busy that day. I have worked for two different veterinary clinics in Tucson (not Miller Pet Hospital). A close family friend is a small animal vet. When I have to take my dog to a vet, I go to Miller Pet Hospital. Dr. Miller is patient, kind and understanding. He always spent much more time discussing my pet's condition and options for treatment than any other vet I have seen. He was very kind to both my pet and myself. He was also very understanding of my limited budget. That is difficult to find in most veterinary practices. kirsten Read Less

Read Less
