Reception was nice, never got to see a vet. If you go in for an "emergency appointment " be prepared for a very long wait. I'm not talking 20-30 minutes, I talking about hours.

My dog was throwing up and after the recommendation to run every test they had available I walked out paying $1000 to get x rays and medicine I really don’t think my dog needed but was guilt tripped into it. I've been here twice. The first time was a good experience but unfortunately the second time was not. The staff was unfriendly and rude. I had to give details several times and they still didn't get it correct. They did not explain the situation or options (a result of poor listening?) but did provide me with an estimate of $650-750 after I gave feedback that I wanted to try the conservative route (it was Sunday and I wanted to get her through to see her regular vet). The service was horrible. My dog was bleeding from her nose and we took her there. They didn’t give us any answers, they didn’t diagnose her and they told us that she was old so we might as well put her to sleep forever. We were about to sign because we didn’t know what was wrong but at last we decided to take her home and take care of her while we could. The next day we took her to Paws 🐾 and their service was outstanding. They were able to tell us what was wrong and they gave her medication. Now, my dog is alive and looking better than ever. If we did what Pima Pet Clinic told us to do, our pet would no longer be with us. Read Less

We came in because my dog was attacked at 7am, and my regular vet wasn't open. The person who checked us in was rude, but the vet tech was really nice, so I began to feel okay about being there. My dog had a large gash and was unable to walk properly. After an hour, the vet finally came in, didn't even look at the gash, determined that she needed surgery and a plethora of tests before, and that the total would be about $1600. I was not feeling comfortable leaving my dog there, and her regular vet was open by this time. I paid the $85 fee for taking her temperature and making an estimate, and took her to her regular vet. I had a very well trained family dog, nothing phased her, you could touch her feet, pick her up for loves or for fun. She would lay on the floor and allow me to clip her nails. One of the veterinarians who saw my dog for shots, nail clip, and a rabies certificate. Upon picking her up after she was done she seemed skittish. The veterinarian commented on her being a wimpy dog scared of everything. I told her shes not a farm dog but a gentile  family dog. My dog  was hiding behind me in fear of the vet technician and veterinarian. Four years later I still cannot pick up my dog with her wiggling in fear. Trying to clip her nails is a huge chore, the veterinarians that work on her today have to sedate her to clip her nails. I would not ever recommend Pima Pet Clinic! Read Less

Worst experience ever! I work in behavioral health and I also teach customer service. Wow never had such horrible customer service ever. They never hands on examined my pet, would not let me talk about my pet in any way (besides symptoms)and what she means to me, as they completely interrupted and explained fees. May I add there was no other people there to make you think, oh maybe they were busy. They said they can do 4 x-rays and a blood panel for 748.00 that they did not have any idea why my dog had her symptoms. I refused the additional cost and paid for a full exam I never got. I took my cat here in January. They gave me plenty of expensive short term care options, but no long term care options. They refused to let me see my cat despite my asking repeatedly to see her and simply kept coming back to me with piles upon piles of estimates when I told them I couldn't pay their fees. Dr. Parker yelled at her staff whenever I wouldn't accept an estimate. I was scared they would euthanize my cat without telling me since their forms were confusing and seemed to specify that they could treat my animal without my consent or they could wait to call me and took no responsibility for the animal's death by not treating them in a crisis. The people in the lobby were rude as well because emergency patients were taken back before appointments. So if you make an appointment (I don't see why you would) expect extremely long wait times.Read Less

Very sad situation all around. An unfortunate part of this was the way the owner handled talking to the media. How could you base a life off of money in that manner? Less than 3 hours, and you don't call a rescue group before making that decision? Humans have a right to be treated for emergency services, and don't get turned away for not having money upfront. There are multiple people coming forward stating they would have made donations, even RESCUE GROUPS. This is bad business, and has nothing to do with quality of life, only quantity of dollars. A beautiful young boxer was hit by a car the Good Samaritan brought the boxer in and was explained that was treatable and requested $1,100 to treat the surgery the Good Samaritan was expecting updates and calls on the boxers condition and there were also two rescue groups that called in and offered to pay for the full surgery and we're actually turned away as well as countless numbers of people offered to donate and were also turned away saying they were not accepting any donations, why??? Within 3 hours of the dog being in Pima pet clinic care the Good Samaritan was called saying that the dog had been put to sleep countless numbers of effort were out trying to find the owners through Facebook groups and people comming together trying to rectify this Injustice and murder. Sure enough the real family was found and this poor young boxer that had a chance and such a long life to live still was murdered this boxer had a family with young boy dancing in the back yard with his best friend now came home from vacation with his family to find he had no more loved family member. After posting this tragedy on Facebook and several people coming forward with the same circumstances with their animals I come to realize that this is just not a freak accident this is happen countless numbers of times with other people love pets. It's just such a tragedy that we trust a doctor to help someone we care about and love that relies on us, is just consider just another number just another paycheck. I have seen and read what is being posted about Hope the boxer. It is tremendously sad and unfortunate and I can't imagine how I would feel if it was my dog. I will say that I have been to numerous pet clinics and emergency vets here in Tucson, and a few in Phoenix as well. As a momma of 3 chihuahuas and 2 cats, we have frequent trips to the vet. When my chi, Lucy, was diagnosed with congenial heart failure, my husband and I found he best cardiac specialist in the state, Dr Church, to help with her care. Unfortunately he was in Phoenix. Dr. Parker at Pima pet clinic was the ONLY vet in Tucson that worked with us and Dr Church to help Lucy live as long as possible while still being happy and pain free. Literally, other vets turned us away and gave up our little girl. Dr Parker, Monica, and all the other staff at Pima have been excellent to us and our fur babies. I can't imagine all the tough decisions they have to make every day when caring for our animals, but I know they are giving 110% every day to make sure our sweet babies are cared for. We adore Dr Parker and Pima Pet Clinic! Thank you for taking such good care of our pets and doing all you do!Read Less

Came to this place on a Sunday morning after I had discovered that my 9 month old dog had vomited up gravel from our backyard overnight. After reading terrible stories online about some dogs intestines being blocked by rocks and my dog was acting funny I was worried so I headed into Pima Pet Clinic because it's close to my house and open  24-hours. My main concern was that my Dog would need surgery to remove any rocks. Right when I walk in the receptionist told me that there was an $85 emergency fee and then they would give us estimations about how much the rest would be, I said fine that's not a problem. Everyone seemed very nice and they took us into an examination room where I explained to a tech what the problem was with my dog and she later sent in a vet. After the vet told us she wanted to take a few x-rays of my dog they brought me a sheet to sign stating that the trip would cost under $300 and I acknowledged it and signed it. They then took my dog back for x-rays and the vet came back with the photos, stating that it looked like there was just some sand in my dogs stomach and no rocks and she would not need surgery (which was a huge relief to me). She then explained to me that they wanted to keep my dog there overnight hooked up on an IV to keep her hydrated and If for some strange reason I didn't want to do that, they could inject fluids into her so she could go home that day and hopefully poop the sand out. The vet tech then came in with paperwork for both the overnight option and non-overnight option and the overnight IV option was $1,100+ since my dog didn't need surgery I didn't plan to do that option, I'm sorry it didn't seem worth it. When I chose the other option (which was still a fair amount of money costing $558) the vet tech said okay and brought my dog right in. They told us they had some medicine for us and it seemed like because we chose the less expensive option we were then treated like scum. We waited for over an hour for the tech to bring a poopy rock moving medicine to us, when all I wanted to do was get my rock-eating, liquid filled, tired pup home. After the tech gave us the medicine she said we could not leave until the receptionist came back to the exam room and charged us out. After waiting yet another hour I left the room and approached the counter to find the receptionist just sitting there, I asked if we could just pay for our services and she said "oh yeah okay" I don't understand why they told us to wait for her to come back there!!?? Disappointed that after I spent $550+ we were still treated so poorly. Also, the tech mentioned that they would follow up with us and they never did. Poor service. Wish I had read these reviews before I left in such a panic with my silly, rock-eating doggy! Read Less

They started off really friendly. I have had to bring my dog to the vet multiple times this month. The diagnosis has gone from Valley Fever to possible parvo to Hypertrophic Osteodystrophy. They gave him anti-inflammatory which he did not respond to.They then wanted me to drive 2 hrs away to see a dog neurologist when there is a neurologist here in town. When I asked why I couldn't just go to the specialist in town, they couldn't give me a straight or valid answer just, "we prefer the one in Phoenix". They double charged my debit card and when I called about it, they stated that it's an issue with my bank and that I should call my bank. I put down a deposit but at the end of the visit they had to refund me part of the cost as it didn't amount to the total of the vet stay. Pima Vet Clinic has my card on file and charge me over the phone when I am not in town. They had absolutely no issues charging my account via phone, however, when it came time for them to refund the money back to my card they said that they could not as they didn't physically have my card....so you can charge my card without it physically being there but you can't refund it???The only reason I found out that the refund did not take place is because I checked my bank statement, they never called me to tell me that they needed my card to process the return. I called again to ask for my pets medical records, the assistant on the phone (Stephanie) was not only really short with me but she told me to call back later stating, "I just can't do it right now". I asked if she could relay a message to the doctors and she just said "well neither of them are in the office right now and they won't be until Monday, what do you need to talk them about?" She was really rude. If you need vet care whether it's emergent or not, I do not recommend this place. While majority of the staff are friendly, the few that are not stick with you. As far as the vet care, the vets are nice but it just seemed like they didn't know what they were doing. Read Less

I recently adopted an Olde English Bulldogge and never noticed anything out of the ordinary with her until one day she just couldn't walk and seemed to be in pain. I called Pima Pet Clinic and they told me I could bring her in to be seen. I picked up the dog on Christmas Eve, and this was around May. I wrote down the animal's age or what I was told, and right away the staff told me she was older, even referring to her as a geriatric patient. They assumed she had arthritis or pulled a muscle but couldn't be sure without X-rays. Anyway so the lady helping me was really asking me a lot of questions about the food I feed her, how much I feed her, do I walk her, have I owned a bulldog before, etc. My dog looks really rough around the edges and was a stray who was rescued in the Arizona heat which Bulldogs are heat sensitive so she just doesn't look like some puppy store bulldog. She looks rough, her nose is permanently cracked, she has tear stains, etc. I felt kind of like the lady was implying maybe I didn't know how to take care of her... But I clean her face and wrinkles daily and her eyes. I do everything that I can to help her. It's just she looks like she's had a hard life.. And she has! She did give me some pointers and tell me that she is probably 7 when I was told when I adopted her that she was about 3.5 years old. So again, that was a bummer. She also told me that my dog was 12 pounds overweight which was crazy to me because she had lost weight since I adopted her. She actually seemed to gain muscle mass since I got her. I felt uncomfortable and like a bad pet owner because I'm not a bulldog know it all like the lady helping me. She made me feel like I was doing something wrong but in reality I know I'm doing everything I can. The one plus is that they did fax records of visit over to my dog's primary vet who then called me to check on her. :) Read Less

This place is running a scam! I have two pugs who are practically my children. I worry whenever they aren't feeling well. I have taken each one in once, and both times I was accused of giving my dog Marijuana. This is impossible, because this substance is nowhere in my house, and no one who comes over has this either. As a good pet owner, you obviously want to prove that the dog doesn't have this in their system- which along with the emergency fee, costs around $120. It is a scam. Do not go here. They are desperate to get money and run costly and absurd tests. Read Less

My little chihuahua puppy who is 4 months old started throwing up and looked like she had lost a considerable amount of weight quickly. I was at work when this was happening and couldn't get her to the vet so my boyfriend called around but most places needed an appointment scheduled first and couldn't get him in so he took her to this place. I met him there as soon as I got off work. They charged him $85 just to be seen! It took an hour and a half for someone to just come in the room to speak to him. They said to do anything further would be extra charges. They brought back an estimate. Now the bill was $280, which was for a blood test and stool test, as well the check in charge ($85). They made us leave the room for the blood and stool test, which is understandable. We could hear her crying bloody murder from the waiting room. After about 10 minutes they called us back in and said we could be with her while they ran the tests. It took an hour for them to come to us with the results. She tested positive for parvo (at least that's what they told us). Our options weren't looking good financially. They gave us a new estimate for hospitalization and IV fluids and the cost was now at $900, and then $500 per extra day they had to keep her there. We declined because we didn't have that much, obviously. We kept asking what we could do at home to treat her and they kept avoiding the question and explaining that she should get hospitalized asap. We asked what we could do to get her through the night. They wanted to give her an IV of fluids, and vitamins in her system. We wanted to give her a chance so we accepted the fluids. Our new bill came out to $478. We were able to take her home that night. The next morning we brought her to a clinic in Mexico (prices were actually extremely reasonable) to see what they could do. We checked her in and left her overnight. They called us the next day with the test results and said she tested negative for parvo and she has been eating normally and her stool was normal as well, which wouldn't be the case if she had parvo. They also said she gained her weight back and we could come pick her up. Not very happy with the first clinic and the prices they charged us. It is completely outrageous what they billed us with to tell us she had parvo when she didn't. I won't go here again.Read Less

This is the WORST clinic I have ever been to in my entire life! My little kitten was on the verge of death. He was crying out in pain and unable to move his legs. We brought him here because it was the closest 24hr clinic at 2am. We get there and this girl with multiple facial piercings comes out with a scowl on her face, and asks us what we need. We try to explain to her the problem with our cat but she doesn't seem to care. At this point we know that we need to get him put down and we ask if we can get this done. This woman doesn't even bother to look at our dying animal. Instead, she has us fill out the paperwork and lists these outrageous prices for the vet's time. We ask her politely why it is so expensive just to get our cat put to sleep. She rudely replies that its always the same price no matter the time of night. (Roughly around 200 dollars) We ask her if there are any other options because we are poor college students without any money to pay for not only a shot to put our cat to sleep, but an exam AND a burial. She rudely replies that we are paying for the veterinarian's time, and that we had no other options. Showing no remorse or sympathy for the tiny little 8 month kitten that was crying and dying in my arms. We eventually found a deal that we could work with at Southwest Animal Hospital. The total cost was only 97 dollars and they were very sweet to our poor little guy. They were very careful and nice with both my boyfriend and I, and our cat. I believe he was comfortable and safe when we handed him off to the vet. Even in emergency situations I DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES recommend this clinic. I could not be more unhappy with their customer service, prices, and over all services.Read Less

Pima pet clinic saved my dogs life back in 2007. She should have probably died, she was attacked by a pack of javelinas. She stayed 7 days at the facility and was cared for around the clock with a few operations to fix internal problems. She came right and was bouncing around just like before. Unfortunately 7yrs later she started having seizures and took her in 3 weeks ago. Dr Scott knew exactly who my dog was and my little Shih Tzu was over the moon to see her. She was acting like a puppy again around Dr Scott and does every time we see her. Sadly today Dr Scott by my request put my little girl to sleep. Her quality of life was horrible and I knew it was time. Dr Scott and the staff not only took care of my little girl but they also were able to ease my emotions at the time. I will always use Pima Pet Clinic. Over the years with my other dogs I've been to vets around Tucson. They have nothing on this place. Reading the other reviews, I must say. Having a pet costs money and we get that reality when the bills for vet emergencies come up. I was driving late one night from work down Speedway and found a dog who was hit multiple times by passing cars. I took the dog quickly to the clinic who was not far. I'm not sure what happened to the dog, but they were very helpful and took the dog in. This place generally loves animals. Read Less

I am in the medical field and had numerous questions rolling through my head while my kitty underwent multiple tests. After Dr. Parker completed the tests and thoroughly reviewed the results (showing us the xrays and ultrasound results on a laptop) and gave her final assessment and recommendations, she had answered all my questions without my needing to ask! My kitty is now stable and the Clinic always calls a few days after our followup visits, asking detailed info about our kitty. Dr. Parker is very, very thorough and I would highly recommend her! The veterinarian commented on her being a wimpy dog scared of everything. I told her shes not a farm dog but a gentile  family dog. My dog  was hiding behind me in fear of the vet technician and veterinarian. Four years later I still cannot pick up my dog with her wiggling in fear. I'm also waiting to hear why this facility killed the boxer when two other facilities were willing to take over care and when strangers were wanting to donate money. Not everyone has social media. Not everyone knows the places to call right away when their pet is missing. I sure didn't when I first moved here. Pima Pet Clinic, there are hundreds of caring people waiting for your reply. The longer you wait the longer it gives us reason to believe there is no real reason for this place to turn down the help given to you by true pet lovers. Read Less

Heard that today a female boxer was brought in after being hit by a car. There were people willing to donate to keep her alive because her injuries were not life threatening yet they didn't want to take the money, they wanted the owners to come forth and deal with the situation at hand. They put her to sleep without a life threatening situation, i am hurt and in tears for this little angel and i know others were as well. I will never bring my kids here nor will i ever recommend this place. You robbed her of a happy life, you robbed her family and all those willing to help. :( Read Less

My vet tech Jaclyn was very kind and caring and my vet was great! She didn't push any treatment/procedures on us, just gave us our options. She took time to listen and I really appreciated that. We are new to the area and have had trouble finding a good vet. I was very pleased with my service today. Read Less

Read Less

I thought it was infection so I called my dog primary hospital and it was closed but the voice mail gave me another emergency number which is Pima Pet Clinic so I called. They told me there is $85 emergency fee I was panic so I came in anyway. It turned out the spot wasn't from the fight but the hot spot. So the shaving costs $70. Two shots and some bring home medicine cost almost $400! I paid it cuz they are already doing the work. But when the lady brought my dog back I found another spot. I told the lady and she was rude and just pulled it till I said stop. Definitely not recommend !

Read Less
