Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic

Tucson, Arizona
General Info
Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic in Tucson delivers veterinary experiences that unfold with meticulous precision by adjusting light space and contact to gently guide animals through every medical step in Arizona. Upon arrival pets gain permission to investigate their environment. The process embraces scent-mapping slow movements and selective engagement as integral components. Members of the clinical team observe the animal's responses to floor texture ceiling acoustics and vertical presence. Each visit emerges uniquely distinct—some start through gentle palpation while others commence with visual examinations or social acclimation steps. The invitation extends to owners to disclose information about their pet's resting places at home, their noise aversions, and the altered rhythms of their mealtimes. Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic provides support for services such as injury evaluation immune system diagnostics muscle elasticity checks sensory aversion handling and chronic illness co-management. Exam structures undergo modification through breath cycles freeze signals gaze breaks or limb withdrawal. Every examination space contains equipment for immediate adjustments including portable stools adjustable lighting and optional barriers to minimize visual distractions. The care process extends beyond the procedure to finish at the decompression stage. Pets are allowed time to reorient before leaving. Behavioral pacing guides are distributed to owners detailing the appropriate waiting periods before stimulus reintroduction alongside instructions for offering food or touch while identifying signs of emotional lag and physical soreness. Sahuaro Vista Veterinary Clinic engages with pets from Tucson and nearby Arizona regions to guarantee that every visit phase including entry treatment and recovery aligns with animals' understanding of movement space and sequence.

The first time I went there was fine, and I didn't even have an appointment but needed a rabies shot for my dog so he could still have grooming at the very best grooming place I know, Wags. Well, my dog and three others here went to our dog park, and think it had been sprayed, and they all threw up. But, I wasn't sure if it was the rabies shot or the dog park, or the Norovirus which hit our place so bad the health dept. almost closed it. I took him back, and asked if I should bring a stool, and they said it would be $62 if I did. I had to toss out $127 of dog food, because not sure why he threw up for two days, The first visit, the "helper" was wonderful except she did say my Vet Speciality person was "crazy." and that wasn't very professional. This second time, I was very nervous, the doctor look quickly at him and had the tech take him back and I heard him scream and holler, I know his voice, and he never does that. He was really hurt. When I got him back his back was bleeding! She (tech) said white dogs bleed more! She said she had to use a thick needle to hydrate him. I never got the answer to if the Norovirus carried over, and I got some pills. I am 80 yrs. old and can't read fast the small print. Emily, the hard-boiled tech my dog was afraid of from the start, grabbed them out of my hand and read how much to give, then I asked "together?" with or without food," she said it didn't matter. Later, I got home and found out it had to be taken with food. I went back to get some food, and complained when they gave me the wrong food. Besides, I just wanted a few pills the first time, and got 28 and it was $74 for the pills, they were Apoquel and that might have been what made him sick. I found they cost $1.74 elsewhere. Both times, my bill was over two hundred dollars, so I wasn't going back anyway, but they sent me a letter to not come back! I want you all to know about the rough treatment and the high prices. And, I saw the actual doctor just a few minutes. So, going to Marana where they will clean his teeth at less than 1/2 the price they charge here. Watch out for teeth cleaning these days, these places are costing a fortune, my friend paid $1,100. I'm paying $175. where I'm going. Too bad people have to act that way, I miss my old vets in Texas and can't wait to move back there where they are nice, take time, and do not charge that much. Read Less

When we went sahuaro vista they identified the problem and worked with us to figure out a solution. Unfortunately since i wasted so much time at the other vet my dogs situation had gotten beyond repair and unfortunately had to be put to rest but the staff made this difficult time much more comforting. We discovered this clinic--Dr. Andy Carlton and his excellent staff--when we moved to Tucson 23 years ago. He has provided excellent care for each of our previous dogs. The first, who moved with us to Tucson, lived to be about 17. The second, a rescued stray, survived several years into renal failure--plus, during that time, recovered from a severe infection following a life-threatening attack by a neighbor's large dog. Thanks to his care, she lived to a ripe old age of about 19! He also advised and helped console us when the time came to let each of them go. When I picked up our current dog from sick bay at PACC 4 years ago, my first stop was at Dr. Carlton's, for treatment for her kennel cough. He continues to provide exceptional care. This vet is amazing! My husband and I were visiting the area with our dogs and one of them injured their eye while we were in town. I did a quick search and came across Sahuaro Vista Vet Clinic and I am so glad I did. I was able to make a same day appointment and we got into to see Dr. Carlton. We left with some eye drops and when those weren't working they were willing to call in a new prescription to a pharmacy in the town we were visiting next. They also call frequently to check on our dog to see how he is doing. Their care is fantastic and I am so glad I found them while visiting. They really are a world class team and a world class veterinary clinic! Read Less

I worked there for 3 years and then moved out of state. This clinic has the best protocols I have seen in years. From calling in to make an appt or to ask as questions, to techs and Dr's working as a team to managers willing and happy to step away from the desk to help ANYWHERE help is needed. From the front of the parking lot to the dumpster they care about everything and everyone! All the staff and managers were amazing easy to work with and fun! You must have fun at work. Both Dr's love to educate you to help you grow. I miss everything about this place. I watched the YouTube video but it made me cry and miss you all because of how wonderful you all are. Miss you all very much and thank you for all the education -Airbear Read Less

They have helped me put 3 dogs to sleep all 14 years years old. 2 experiences were 5+ the other the dog didn't like going to the vet and they didn't give her a sedative until she was upset ( this was with a vet who was new and is no longer there ) Janice is wonderful and stayed with another dog even in the crate to calm him down... I have been going there for 10 years and usually have quick service with little wait times and compassion for the animal. Read Less

The service was prompt and reasonably priced. The employees are approachable. It's a smaller business so I could imagine the staff getting to know customers very well.
