Do not take your dog to this Vet if you love your dog! I took my dog in November and by April he had lost 30 pounds, she prescribed a medication that made his disease worse! I was force feeding him for almost 2 months, I would call and ask if there was anything I could do, they kept telling me to continue to force feed him! He had valley fever and couldn't take the medicine it made him sick, I kept asking if there was anything else, she never bothered to tell me about the valley fever specialist, because then the money hungry witch wouldn't of gotten the hundreds of dollars I paid her to get my dog better. I asked her about an x-ray to check for cancer and she told me as my boy was having a hard time breathing that an x-ray wouldn't show cancer! She gave him a steroid and steroids I found out from the great new vet I took him too Can make the valley fever worse! Also guess what? None of her records show her giving that prescription to my boy! When I took my boy to the new vet the first thing they did was take an x-ray, showed cancer, filled with fluid and the new vet said the worse case of valley fever he ever saw! Also said I should never have had to force feed him for almost 2 months!! This vet is only out for the money, I have another dog that is a diabetic and she wanted to charge me a $100.00 to show me how to check my dogs sugar! Yes a $100.00! Don't walk away from this vet, RUN!! If you love your dog please don't take them to her! My boy is gone, due to misuse of prescribing medication that made his valley fever worse, and not doing the proper testing! Or referring me to another doctor that could of helped my boy! Josie especially, with the tumor we had removed and more recently a scare when she plugged herself up and would not eat and became very ill. Our 12 year old black lab suddenly lost her eye site due to diabetes we were unaware she had. She lost 10 lbs in two weeks and was completely emaciated. The care the staff, especially Dr. Boyer and Robert showed to our sick pup and the rest of our family, could never be matched. When looking for a vet, honestly I was looking for affordable, I had no idea I would not  only find an affordable place but the level of care is superior to some of the most expensive places in town. Extremely friendly and caring staff.  We just relocated to Tucson and had a new puppy who wasn't feeling well. They fit her in that day and handled her treatment very honestly.  They did not charge me for a lot of things I didn't need and their prices are incredibly reasonable. Dr Boyer and her team are nothing short of angels. After going from vet to vet and leaving unsatisfied or with unanswered questions or lacking a connection between the dr and my pet, Dr Boyer is a breath of fresh air. Our technician , Raven, was very helpful, sweet, and respectful. Dr Boyer was amazing, wonderful bedside manner, and actually cares about the animals. You would think that caring and having a connection with every animal that comes through the door would be a prerequisite to become a veterinarian but have found through my experience with vets in Tucson, that is not always the case. They are thorough, detail oriented, affordable, clean and well kept; they have xray equipment on site and were pulling films within a few minutes to get immediate answers. We absolutely love Dr Boyer and her staff! We have taken both our dog and our cats here and they always remember them and ask how the others are doing. We've never had any problems getting appointments and the staff is always very upfront about anticipated pricing and what is and is not necessary. Just this morning I called to get an emergency appointment for my cat because he was not urinating. I've been taking my cat to Dr. Boyer for almost 10 years and she is hands down the best vet I've ever had. All the nurses and techs are great and are highly skilled at dealing with stressed out/difficult pets, like my cat. Everyone at Speedway Veterinary is friendly, knowledgable, and extremely helpful. I couldn't have been more happy with the service and the staff! They were extremely knowledgeable, professional, and it is clear that they really love what they do. In addition, they were honest. I asked a question to a tech and he admitted that he didn't know the "best answer" and that he would do some research. I wish there were 10 stars. Dr. Boyer or as I like to call her, Dr. Dolittle, saved my ferret's life when there was very little hope. He had a huge hair ball stuck in his digestive track and didn't show noticeable signs until he was extremely sick. Dr. Boyer and the whole staff teamed up to save his life and showed amazing compassion for the little guy. Thanks to her hard work and immense compassion, my little Georgie is alive and playing as if he were a young kit again. Just a single story among many: We took our elderly dog in for his annual shots. Dr. Boyer took the time to examine him and ask how he had been doing. We said that he was slowing down in his old age - that all he wanted to do was sleep. Dr. Boyer asked if we wanted to try an arthritis medicine for him and gave us a free sample. The next day our dog was jumping up and down and dragged me along on our walk! I had thought our dog was tired and old, but Dr. Boyer recognized that he was in pain.The last two years of his life were wonderful thanks to her. I cannot recommend Speedway Vet highly enough. Would highly recommend Dr. Kayla Boyer and her staff to anyone that has a pet. They don't treat you like a client - they treat you like family!! Dr. Boyer is wonderful about explaining things to you from test results to medications to procedures and making sure that you understand what is going on so you can make an informed decision. Her staff is kind and caring and reflect Dr. Boyer's attitude. They are willing to answer questions and provide you with needed information. Dr. Boyer is willing to go that extra mile to determine what is wrong with your pet. My cat Alana was very ill and I can only imagine the amount of time Dr. Boyer spent in doing research, making phone calls, going to see other vets and specialists - and all on her own time, to try to help my girl. We were finally able to make a determination on what was wrong with her and treatment started right away. She is the best pet advocate out there!!! And when she loses one (or in my case, two recently), she takes it almost as a personal insult - but she was with me and my girls at the end and she and her staff felt my loss as if it was there own. But I think the best thing about Dr. Boyer is that she listens - actually listens to what you have to say. If you tell her that something is off with your pet - she believes you....actually takes into consideration what you see and observe and feel and uses that information appropriately. if I were ever to adopt again, would certainly make sure that Dr. Boyer takes care of them. We brought our puppy to Speedway Veterinary Hospital because of its convenient location. What we found was the best veterinary service I've ever received. Kayla took the time to discover our dog's individual needs and integrated her diagnosis based on the dog's needs and our lifestyle. She was always honest, straightforward, and extraordinarily helpful with her advice. Moreover, whatever she prescribed was always tailored very specifically for our dog's needs. Her office staff has always been friendly and knowledgeable, and always responds promptly to our phone messages. Our dog has become much healthier and better-adjusted (she was a feral dog with a lot of fear and behavior issues) since our experiences at Speedway Veterinary Hospital, and I wish that my own doctor was as good for me as Kayla has been for my dog. The first things I noticed about this hospital was the clean environment, and the staff were friendly and knowledgable. My dog was welcomed so warmly, and the service was excellent!
