First let me begin with that this post is not generated to attack or belittle a company or person for who they are generally, but to share what I saw happen based off of actions that I experienced firsthand today. So take from it what you will. With that said, this morning I took Sulley to a pop up vaccination clinic. At this clinic a lady (whom I did not get a name for but said managed Suffolk Hills Pet Clinic) met me in the parking lot with a chair and asked me to sit far away from the other dogs and after rolling my eyes because I knew it was because of her breed (pit/mastiff mix) she quickly said "Oh no its not that at all. There are just a lot of dogs here." There were 5 dogs. One of which that had to be muzzled for biting a hole in his owners hand but was still able to sit close to the other dogs and owners. But my sweet gentle giant was removed from the general area and asked to sit in mud, yes I know there was mud everywhere because of the rain, but where everyone else was sitting was under tents and on clean concrete. Then proceeding that, after sitting there and waiting for almost an hour, two people who got there after we did, got to go before us and get their vaccinations. It was almost like we were forgotten about and meanwhile all this is happening I keep overhearing an older lady and her husband talking very loudly how uncomfortable Sulley made them because " she would snatch up their little dogs." Whom by they snarled and snaped at Sulley while they walked around us to get weighed. Can you guess what Sulley did? If you guessed that she sat there and did nothing but let out a whine you guessed right. I knew that when we picked out Sulley that we would experience comments, looks and an overall fear because of the reputation of her breed. I knew that that these moments would happen. However, I never thought they would happen amongst people who work in a vet clinic where their job was supposed to care for all animals. I am angered and saddened by this. Please know that this is not meant to bash anyone but simply state the experience that happened to me. I am not trying to be hurtful in any way, Read Less

Dr. Nunn completely missed symptoms of my dog having just had a seizure and gave her penicillin for no reason after x-rays showed her heart looked "normal". As a result, her brain tumor went undiagnosed for 6 months which shortened her eventual lifespan. Dr. Nunn did not ask good questions or listen to what I was describing (the seizure). I left having no idea what had just happened to my dog. I now do not trust his judgment and won't return to the clinic. Dr. Koski is good (I could not see her due to the emergency nature of the visit after the seizure) but is impossible to reach; the staff keep you from asking her any questions except during the brief time in the exam room. After a surgery I could not get access to her at all. Also the staff kept misplacing my dog's records. Very unprofessional. Read Less

Have been using Suffolk Hills Services for about four years and never had issue with either vet not being friendly and professional. My issue is with Sarah Nunn who told me via phone my dog tested positive for valley fever. A prescription was called in, and I was told it would take 30 days for cough to resolve. Thirty days later, she was still coughing so i brought her in for appt with Dr Nunn. He said he didn't think my dog had valley fever because she didn't have any other symptoms and, basically, faulted his staff for making that diagnosis. He x-rayed my dog, and as a result, found she has collapse in her trachea and lower airway collapse. He sent us to Vet Specialists of Tucson where she is currently being treated for chronic sterile bronchitis and allergies. Many times, I would bring my dog in and report her coughing, and Dr Nunn would always say that allergies were exceptionally bad now. I would ask if there was anything else that Would be causing her cough, but Dr Nunn never took a look at her lungs until after the valley fever misdiagnosis. Would my dog be in better shape today had she been x-rayed and diagnosed sooner?? Probably. I would caution anyone reading this, no matter where you take your pet, to think about getting a second opinion. Read Less

Although the doctors seem knowlegeable, they have always been very deceiving about tests and services our dogs absolutely need, I believe to try and make more money. Vets aren't cheap to begin with, and we love our puppies, but dishonesty and manipulation should not be tolerated. On top of that, the rest of the staff are very rude and disrespectful, and having an appointment time means nothing. We always wait at least a half an hour after our scheduled appointment time, and then only get a few minutes with the Doctor. Lastly, we have a older dog whom we've been told developed tick fever, and the doctor was concerned about valley fever, so we waited for that test which was to take another day, and it took a week for them to give me the results, and we're very rude about it. Will NEVER bring any of my animals there again, and if you care about your pets, you shouldn't either. Read Less

After days of research I decided to take my doberman puppy here for her ear cropping even though at the time it was an hours drive away. The surgery was an amazing success and they perform all of the after care included in the price which entails weekly bandage replacement. You take your puppy at 8am, they take the bandages off allowing the ears to breath, they assess how the ears are falling and re bandage accordingly, and you pick your furbaby up around noon. To the smallest detail her ears are simply perfect. I also had her tail "re-fixed", she was a rescue puppy and had been docked as a newborn but it seems she licked it causing uncomfortable calluses that she never seemed to stop thinking about. While she was under for her ears, he stretched the skin creating a perfectly docked and comfortable tail for her. Today I live in Phoenix and I am driving up next week to have her spayed there too, I just can't take the risk of taking her elsewhere if I know I have a quality vet 2 hours away. Ear cropping and tail docking isn't for everyone, if it's offensive to you that is not my intent, but if you are looking for the best vet in AZ for the task it is at Sullfolk HillsRead Less

We were in town for the holidays, and thought we'd take our dog for a hike. All well and good until she pulled up lame... holding her foot up, licking it like a mad woman, not putting any weight on it... Oh yay, we thought, our dog got hurt on Christmas Eve eve. No fun. So we panicked and drove her to Suffolk Hills Pet Clinic, and the staff was SO nice to us. We explained what happened, they took her into the back, talked to us, and determined that nothing was really wrong because of course she started walking fine as soon as we got there. But the fact that they took the time to actually examine her leg and deduce that she didn't have any breaks or tears, was such a relief to us. And then they sent us on our way! Easy as that, no bother, no hassle, all smiles. We felt SO much better, and the staff members at Suffolk Hills TOTALLY understood, and helped us out. They'll be our emergency vet for any future trips to Tucson! Thanks guys! Read Less

I took my dog here after a horrible experience at NW Pet Clinic.  My dog had dislocated his hip and after a week and a half of dealing with NW Pet Clinic and testing that had nothing to do with his injury and $2000 and my dog is no better off than he was when the injury first happened.  So I called Suffolk Pet Clinic and they were able to get my dog in after 20mins of making my call to them, they were honest that due to his age and arthritis in his hip he would need to have the surgery and quoted me a reasonable price which was $1300 less than what was quoted to me at NW Pet.  They gave me medicine for his anemia to get him ready for his surgery that we scheduled for Tuesday morning.  Today's office visit was extremely affordable ($63) that included his medicine and I left feeling confident that when my dog goes in on Tuesday he will have a successful surgery because that staff really does care about your animals.  I will continue to take both of my dogs here from now on. My family began taking our cats to Suffolk Hills when we moved to Oro Valley in 1986, and we've been so happy with their care over almost 3 decades.  Even though I moved to central Tucson, I continue to bring my pets here.  First there was just Dr. Nunn, who saw us through regular check ups and the death (at old age) of my mom's first cat.  My parents and I have adopted 3 cats between us since then, and all of them have been spayed or neutered at Suffolk Hills, and go there for their regular shots (they send helpful reminder postcards!).  Dr. Koski and now Dr. Heller have been excellent additions to the veterinarian team.  I never worry with whom to schedule an appointment because I have had great experiences with all three vets on staff.  Dr. Heller is even available after hours. When I had my cats neutered there five years ago, their recovery time was excellent and there were no post-op complications.  This past Thanksgiving I turned to Suffolk Hills again for help when one of my guys started behaving strangely.  It turned out he had a urinary tract obstruction, which is common in male cats but can be very dangerous.  Dr. Heller hospitalized him for two days on fluids and a special diet, and by Thanksgiving day he was home and happy and urinating without difficulty.  The staff were always happy to give me an update on him when I called during his hospitalization.  Except for a few diet modifications, which Dr. Heller discussed with me on the phone so I would not have to bring him in, he has had no further issues.I cannot recommend Suffolk Hills enough, and I'd also like to echo what some reviews have said about the staff: they are so kind and helpful! My family has been going to Dr Nunn and his young associate Dr Koski for over 15 years and have always received the very best care. I'm sure that to be a vet, you pretty much have to be caring, loving and an incredible person and these two definitely fit the bill.Their prices are reasonable and the staff is extremely accommodating. The doctors will never gouge you with unnecessary treatments or return visits. I was there today with my 10 year old Lab because of his worsening discomfort due to hip dysplasia and Dr Nunn actually spent about 20-30 minutes just talking to me in the exam room about taking some weight off my dog to help with his condition. He understands pet owner guilt for not being home enough and how we tend to overfeed and give too many treats in an attempt to compensate. He didn't scold me; he took the time to talk about animal behavior and made sure I understood. And when we were finished talking, this kind, gentle doctor gave my dog a pet then turned and gave me a hug!Ten years ago  we were there to put our Golden Retriever down and my family and I sat on the floor in one of those small exam rooms.  We layed on the floor with our beloved pet as we cried, kissed and hugged him while Dr Nunn administered the drug. Dr Nunn subtly got up to back out of the room and give us some privacy but not before I looked up and caught his eye as a tear slowly rolled down his cheek. I know the day will come when Dr Nunn retires and am so thankful he found such a great, caring young associate in Dr Koski. There really is no better care in Tucson and I can't imagine going anywhere else.

Read Less

I have come to the conclusion that Dr. Nunn does not like cats. In October, he examined my 14-year-old cat and did blood work. I called and they said the blood work was normal. Less than three months later, my cat was dead from cancer. Also, while examining him, he whined that my cat scratched him. He was an extremely docile cat who just happened to have long claws. They kept sending me reminders in the next few weeks after he died, until I called and told them he had passed.

Read Less
