I brought my dog to Mountain View Animal Clinic for the first time, after using other local vets for our previous pets. The place is great and I recommend it to anyone in the Vail area. First let me say the people at the clinic are great and so is the vet. Who is not is the owner. Here is what I am so unhappy about. We had a stray puppy show up at our place a month ago. The poor dog was in tough shape, very hungry and dehydrate and was leaking urine all over herself. We brought her into mountain View Animal Clinic. First visit was over $250.00. They suggest a work up of $750.00 For more test let me reminded you we are talking about a stray dog not one of our children a dog, a animal, we love our dogs but come on $750.00. Anyway we got some pills for a UTI and went home, a week later still no change, so they ask us to come back we did, and another $240.00. Well we are still at the same place with this puppy and now with some more pills we are now over $500.00 and they now expect us to keep pouring more into them, the clinic that is. I explained that we thought we had taken the dog into professional's and that I did not think I should keep paying for a professional mistake and said they should cover finding out what was wrong after that much expense. I was told that the owner not the Vet or the people that work there, has set cost and would not allow any work being done without payment. Well people I for one do not believe that we should keep being charge for improper care, or care with no results or answers. I for one will not go back when GREED is more important then the quality of the dogs care. They play on you hearth felt feelings for you pets. Dr Viv and her staff are so kind and caring. Both of my fur babies need a dental cleaning, and they offered a discount that really helped with the cost. She even called me after hours to discuss their blood work and what the treatment plan would be. Dr. Viv and her assistants take time to really examine your pets and give them the best care ever. I cannot say enough good things about this practice. Have been going here for 6 plus years and have always been very pleased with the results for my dogs. I love mountain view animal clinic! We have two dogs, six cats, and 9 rabbits that are all seen there as needed. We had one incident where our new kitten caught pneumonia and was salivating and having trouble breathing and they squeezed him in on such a busy schedule so we didn't have to spend thousands of dollars on an emergency clinic. They are so reasonably priced and you can tell the staff there really care about animals and there well beings. Read Less

Took my dog in today to get his shots. He has been here before so I figured it would be a routine check and his shots. A woman comes in and tells me she has to check his prostate which they never had before so I asked this won't cost any extra right? She tells me no and gives him his shots. I get out to pay and there is any extra $50 on my bill! I asked what this charge was for and was told for his prostate exam. When I told them that the woman in the back said that it wouldn't cost more they said oh it's because she is new and didn't know. This is so frustrating because it seems every time I go here they charge me more than they say it should be. They are just out to make money. It's so hard to find a place you can trust. I won't be coming here again and will just go the extra distance to find a place in tucson. Read Less

I can not say enough Good things about Mountain View Animal Clinic. We had only been here two weeks when we found Cancer on my German Shepard/Malamute and had no Idea who to use and we went with them and with in one day they saw him diagnosed him and removed it. Dr. Amy as I call her is awesome as are the other to but you cannot put your pets in better hands and the staff Jennifer and Cyndi up front are excellent and the techs are extremely knowledgeable . But when they came out to update my horse's vaccinations they charged me a $55.00 dirt road fee on top of a $95.00 house call fee, along with a $70 exam fee! This was added on top of the vaccine costs! And they gave my horse a Dexamethasone shot without ever asking and I told them my horse had never had a reaction to vaccines in the past, but I was still charged an extra $35.00 for this shot. Being only 12 miles from my house, I made the mistake of assuming they would be more affordable than vets who are 20 or more miles further, boy was I wrong! I informed them they had lost my business for both our dog and horse after they refused to take any money off the bill. Read Less

My visit to Mountain View Animal Clinic was an awesome experience.  I have had several bad experiences at my past vet office.  A few weeks ago I was talking with a Blue Buffalo rep and she told me about this office.  Everything she said was true.  They are very friendly and willing to listen to all your concerns.  They are not all about the bottom dollar.  They truly care for you animal and there needs.  They give you different opinions and let you make the final decision that best fits your needs.  I was also pleasantly surprised when the vet called me a few days later to see how our dog was doing.  I highly recommend this office to any! I hAve taken 4 dogs, 2 cats and 1 horse to Dr. Monika here! I have been thrilled with not only the visit but the outcome. The office staff is friendly and kind and do their best to see my critter kids asap. Dr Monika will use both traditional and herbal non traditional meds and is so loving and caring. An additional plus is my checking account is not deplete when I leave. Having just moved to the area a few months ago, we were on the search for a new Vet for our three pets.  We called a few places and asked some questions.  We were most impressed with the answers that Mountain View gave, so we made an appointment for our dog and two cats.  They got us an appointment for the time we needed easily.  They called us with a friendly reminder the day before.  Upon arrival, the staff that greeted us was friendly and helpful.  The Vet Tech that came into the room first was thorough and knowledgeable.  The Vet spent all the time we needed with us.  We did not feel rushed and all of our questions were answered thoroughly.  We were provided alternatives for treatment and diagnostics and given the pros and cons of each.  When we checked out, the staff provided us with estimates for any diagnostic tests needed.  They gave us all the information we needed to administer the medications to the pets and made sure we understood everything.  To top it off, the office staff did everything they could to give us any available discounts.  Overall, a great experience.  Friendly and knowledgeable staff.  Caring environment.  No pressure "salesmanship" as we weren't made to feel we needed to have certain tests done.  Recommend to anyone who is need for a Vet for their family pets.
