My wife called to make an appointment because my dog was throwing up every time she ate or drank. Instead of making an appointment, they said to bring her in right then, then proceeded to charge us a "non-appointment" fee of $75. They provide great care to the animals, but that's a little much in my book, especially since it was they who told us to come in right away instead of making an appointment the following day. I've taken my dogs here for 6 years. The staff is always sweet and understanding. They have one vet I don't care for, but they let me pick vets and don't mind if I say "hey I don't want her." I use Dr. Kessler or Dr. Belt most of the time with no problems. Read Less

I have used Dr. belt for the past 4 years with both of my dogs. Today I had the worst experience ever and it had NOTHING to do with Dr. Belt, it was the rude receptionist, Carolyn. My dog got ran over last night, I paid $720 for her to stay the night at the emergency clinic. She had a laceration on her stomach that needed to be stitched up. I called and spoke to Carolyn and she told me in a VERY rude, inconsiderate tone, "I have 2 doctors and they're both booked, I don't know what you're going to do." A little bit of kindness and compassion would've gone a long way. I accepted the fact that they were booked but she didn't have to be so rude. I have decided to remove my dogs from this clinic and she is currently at a new vet, getting taken care of! I will miss Dr. Belt dearly, but for Carolyn I hope you gain some respect, courtesy AND compassion for what you do.Read Less

I have used this vet for years. The front staff is awesome but when I have been in real need for major issues with my pets I have experienced the worse attitude from the actual vets that I have ever experienced here. The vet with short brown hair, I will not call by name, is by far the most insensitive Ill Mannered person I have dealt with. Our pets are our family and when we reach out for medical assistance you don't expect rudeness or blame for your pets sickness. Years I have bragged about this vet but because of the service I have received over the last few months, concerning multiple animals, I now find myself looking for a new vet. They have helped us through a couple pet emergencies, they have helped us after we lost our sweet cat, they are always friendly and helpful in person and on the phone. The vets are great, the staff is great, everyone is great. I have no worries when I bring my animals here, I know they will be treated with love and given the best care. Fantastic vet. They really do care about your pets. I called an hour before they closed on a Saturday morning and they still allowed me to come in. I was most likely overreacting but they still did everything they could to make me feel comfortable and they don't run unnecessary tests or do things that don't really need to be done just to make money. I also have a dog that no other vet has been able to touch because he's so aggressive but he loves everyone at Benton Vet. I unfortunately had to have him quarantined due to biting someone but they didn't treat him different than any other pet. He was there for 10 days and I called everyday to check on him and they were kind and understanding every time I called. They didn't charge near what other places were going to charge to keep him. Words cannot express how much I love this place. We've used Benton Vet for over ten years and will always use and recommend them. Dr Kessler has been amazing through out the whole experience with both Freckles and Grace. Dr VanPelt and Dr Belt are both extremely knowledgeable and it's very obvious through our experiences that they care about the animals and the owners of them. They realize that these are more than "pets" they are loved ones that deserve the same care as people. Dr Entricken was the best 8 years ago when Freckles was diagnosed with Addison's disease and was amazing throughout getting all meds and levels corrected. I never feel afraid to ask anything of them. When I'm in there they've always been helpful!! The sentiment we recently received by Amberlee after Freckles most recent diagnosis was the most heartfelt thing I've ever heard. And Mrs. Carolyn is fantastic and always so helpful. All of you guys are great!!!! It's even obvious the staff I don't know takes pride in their work!!! Thanks so much guys. Terrible. I made an appointment my 2 cats and 2 dogs. I made this appointment a week in advance for the very first appointment time (8:00am) of the day to avoid "running behind" that's normal for an scheduled work at times. I was assured that I would be out of there in a hour's time. 2 people were in the waiting room when we arrived. The woman I was trying to check in with, was blatantly rude, and obviously clueless on what her job responsibilities were. We took our seat and waited. More people had come in with appointments and others came in as walk-ins. At 8:50 when everyone that was before us and everyone that came in after us had been called back or they were being called back and were already gone. We loaded our 4 fur babies up and walked out. We think these folks are great. Dr VanPelt and Dr Carroll are very competent and clearly like pets. We are always pleased at the reasonable fees and availability of the staff. It's an hour round trip drive for us, but we wouldn't take our Yorkies anywhere else. Read Less

I have used Benton Veterinary clinic (Dr Carol) since 1982 with horses (at the time--she does not Doctor horses now) 5 dogs and cat. I would recommend this clinic to anyone looking for a good Veterinary, plus wonderful staff. I moved out of town few years ago, I tried 2 different Veterinaries at the time. Thanks but no Thanks. I started driving the 34 one way back to Benton Veterinarian Clinic, Dr Carol. Thank goodness, I have moved back to Benton and Benton Veterinarian is still my number one choice. Hi, this review is more about the doggy day care I'll be dog gone doggy day care recommend by Benton veterinary I'm new to the area and took their advise , I highly regret that. My little buddy came home with scratches all over , only half his food was given to him and none of his treats . I called and of corse no one new anything . They misdiagnosed my cat countless times over a years time. Antibiotic after another and nothing helped. Should have been a red flag to professionals because it was to me and had they looked a little harder they would have found the cancer. Never put on cone on our dog after getting him fixed so naturally he licked and tie out stitches and no one even knew till we came to pick him up so then with just a numbing shot stapled it back very incompletion would never take another dog back I mean your a vet a cone would be the first thing you'd do I would think geez Read Less

I brought my dog in with double ear infections and they were able to fit me in without an appointment. Having a bark-y dog and toting a 16-month old was a lot to juggle and everyone was super nice and very accommodating. They understood my dog, who is terrified of other dogs and it comes out in aggression, and treated him as I would treat him. I wasn't able to spend much time with Dr. Belt, as she took time out of her lunch break to treat my dog, but she was very sweet and knowledgeable. I had a 1 month old puppy with a cleft lip that I was nursing. Took him and his brothers to get checked out I was told his brother had a hip or leg problem that would need testing to see what surgery is needed, now he is running and just fine. The sick puppy is doing great too, I was told he should be put down because of fluid on his brain, well now he eats mire than his healthy brother and runs and plays with them. I haven't seen the horrible seizures he was said to happen nor the not eating or thriving. I was not happy.
