I do not recommend this vet. We went here a few times over the last year. The first 2 times were summer 2017 and the vet was ok. He sounded like he knew what he was doing. I was happy with what we were told about my dog. I went back with another dog in may 2018. My girl had kennel cough. The vet could barely get around. He has gotten ill i think and isn't doing so good. He gave her a shot of stuff she didnt need. I ended up taking her to a different vet the next day. Read Less

The staff is very unhelpful and the doctor isn't friendly. But he can take my money but can't answer my questions. πŸ€”He just ignored me completely and proceeded to give my dog a shot without my permission. Which is highly illegal without having the proper documents for me to sign. I just wanted him to look at a scratch on my dog's hind leg. It wasn't severe enough to where he needed a shot. The facility is dirty and the receptionists dress inappropriately. Take your animals elsewhere. Read Less

I took my dog (Cooper) in with issues of not eating or drinking and having a hard time walking. After spending a total of 5 minutes (including the check in process) in the clinic, the vet gave him a shot. I asked him what was wrong with Cooper and his words were, "Well, I don't know since I've spent a total of 3 minutes with him." He then told me to bring him back in the next day so he could see how the shot helped. I then asked him what the shot was for if he didn't know what was wrong and he told me it was for a pinched nerve. Within 2 hours of receiving this shot, Cooper was dead! My mother called the vet back to ask what he treated Cooper for and he told my mom it was a slipped disc in his back and that the shot was a combination of an antibiotic and a pain killer. I should have turned around and walked out as soon as I walked into this "clinic." It was dirty, nothing had been updated since the 80's (including equipment), and when we went back to the exam room to see the vet he had a table of medicines with a syringe on that table next to the medications. I'm sure he had used this syringe on other animals and I didn't see him clean it off before or after he used it on Cooper. This vet needs to be put out of practice so no other family has to suffer like ours did. Explaining to my 5 year old daughter that her dog had died while she was at school was something we shouldn't have had to do that day! Read Less

I just brought my standard poodle in. I was in and out in 15 minutes. We believe it was an infection at the root of a tooth. Total cost was $45.00. That included a steroid/antibiotic shot, time with the doctor, and a full round of take home antibiotics. My standard poodle is already up and wagging his tail again. This clinic is great. It does not have all the bells and whistles of many vet clinics. But, what it lacks in fancy style does not take way from the pure talent and efficiency of Dr. Martin. He does not talk alot. He does not try to sell you on things your animal does not need. He just finds the problem and fixes it.Read Less

When I picked up my cat, i asked him several questions about what to watch for or expect during healing...he barely answered me and treated me as if i were stupid. His front desk assistant is nice though. I was given no receipts upon drop off or pick up of my pet, no receipt of payment....nothing! He did not request that I come in for a followup post-surgical check up, didn't even so much as offer me the courtesy to call back in if i felt there were any problems or warnings. This vet is a quack at best. Took my cat in this past Monday to find out why he was not eating and losing weight. Without even touching my cat he said he wanted him to fast so he could draw blood. I told him he had not eaten in almost 2 days and had drank very little. He still said he wanted him fasted and he wanted him to stay over night. I agreed thinking my cat would be in good hands. They never called me once I had to make 3 separate calls to the office to get updates and on my 2nd phone call I found out they sedated my cat to just draw blood. Needless to say I hit the roof that they would sedate a sick animal just to draw blood and not give a phone call to the owner to let the owner know this. When I placed my 3rd and final call they said my cat was awake and ready to go. Awake yes, ready to go?.....Hardly. He was so out of it he couldn't even stand up. Then I was told it would be 1 to 2 weeks before they would know what was making my cat so sick. 1 to 2 weeks really? Then they billed me for $97.00!!!! I ended up calling another vet that I heard about through my co workers and made an appointment for the very next day. Long story short I took my cat to the new vet whom is a lot better and within 1 hour we knew all my cats problems and they were all not good. In short my cats organs were shutting down and nothing could be done. I told the new vet what Dr. Martin's office had said and the new vet said he wouldn't have made it to the weekend. This "vet" should lose his license!! I brought my senior dog in with an upset stomache. He gave him a shot and told me to bring him back the next day. I did and he wasn't any better. He gave him another shot and told me to bring him back again. I did and told him he wasn't much better. I tried to stress to him that his stomache felt hard to me and he didn't even check him. The girl said, "well do you want to give him his shots?" i said, "only if the doctor thinks he's well enough". without a word, the vet walked over and gave him his yearly shots...a few hours after being home, my poor boy couldn't even walk. i had to hand feed him. i took him to another vet the next day and he was diagnosised with stomache CANCER! needless to say, my dog died that day! The shots had sent him over the edge! This vet should be shut down! He does not have bedside manners. He doesn't tell you what he is giving your dog until it's over and the rest of the staff are uncaring and rude! I know two other people that took their dogs to this idiot and one had a broken back when this doctor said he took xrays and said it had a broken pelvis! This dog suffered months of pain from lack of knowledge and being misdiagnosised. Another friend had their dog treated with this "vet" for an eye injuring. The eye was buldging and should have been sewn shut to heal. the doctor told her it wasn't necessary. kept giving her dog a shot and telling her to come back for 8 days straight, charging her every time. after the 8th day, she took her dog to another vet who said the dogs eye should have been sewn shut to heal....now the dog is blind!!! I have heard other stories of BAD BAD CARE!!!! BEWARE!!!! STAY AWAY!!! Read Less

Not knowing which vaccinations were legally required, we asked Dr. Martin to only give those which were, trusting he knew and would respect our wishes. He proceeded to give our animal four shots, none of which we found out later, are legally required. As a Vet, I would assume he knows the legalities, so the only conclusion I can come to is that I was knowingly lied to. He was not very communicative and we left feeling very uncared for. Also, they don't take debit cards, and who carries cash these days? The vet tech was friendly though. Read Less

My husband is in the Air Force, and is on a temporary duty. My daughter, two dogs, and I came to Cabot to stay with my parents for a few weeks. During that time, my dogs needed just one vaccination each. Even though they didn't ask for the dogs' shot records, I told them exactly what they needed. I even emphasized that they didn't need the rabies shot, because they had it in November in Mississippi. After the vet gave the dogs their shots, I said, "so we just go up front now?" and he said, "yes, she'll get your some rabies tags." Surprised, I asked if he gave them rabies shots? I told him again they weren't supposed to have them. He said, "Oh, well, uh, we'll just mark it off." Of course, the dogs had already been given the vaccination again. He said that they shouldn't have any reaction because of it. Either way, I feel that it leaves no room for me to trust him with my animals again. In my opinion, it's just unacceptable, whether I have to pay for it or not. Read Less

Read Less
