I love these people! We have shown up at different times with and without appointments and they never make us feel as if we are not welcome and they will not help our animals. We drive from Otter Creek to Jacksonville because we love the doctor's "no fluff" consultations, the super friendly & helpful front desk staff, the new facility, and the affordable fees. I had to make that tough decision to have my old companion of 16 years put down last Fall and I was just devastated. By "no fluff" I mean that when I needed his professional opinion, the doctor gave me all options and even though I wanted him to make the decision for me, he knew that I needed to do it on my own. They took care of EVERYTHING in a gentle and loving manner and sent two condolence cards to my house that were hand signed by everyone in the office. It really made the pain a little more bearable. Absolutely a GREAT experience! I had taken my pup to the hospital at 1am...due to breathing problems and seizures! 400 dollars later they couldn't tell me what was wrong, just wanted 900 more dollars to keep him overnight! Needless to say, I didn't have 900 so we left and came here the NEXT day! $20 dollars later he tells me what's wrong and gives prescription! No problems since! Best BY FAR! Read Less

I am so happy with this Animal Hospital!!! They jus saved our Lil Ritchie! He had Parvo. I was reading the previous review n was shocked! I have never seen anyone treated differently due to race. I'm really unhappy with the racist attitude you all project toward people who aren't white. The vet's wife completely refused to acknowledge my friend. They treated her this way in front of HER SIX YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. I hope you feel good about yourself. I'd just really love to know the lies you tell yourself to justify your ignorant attitude. My friend is a very sweet soul and didn't deserve the way you treated her. Not sure how you all stay in business with a racist attitude like that. I am posting this review on behalf of my friend, who had a very upsetting encounter today at Dr. Misak's office. My friend posted this on her personal facebook page today, but the Jacksonville Animal Hospital needs to be made aware of this and change their ways before they ruin their business with sheer ignorance. "Ok long rant.....My feelings are crushed!! I'm hurt, I have cried, yelled and felt every emotion this morning. Ok so me and (my daughter) go to the Jacksonville Animal Hospital in Jacksonville and I experienced the most racist person ever. Y'all my heart is so hurt!!! As I walk in there is a man in line, a lady on a bench and another lady on the other bench. I was standing in line behind an older white gentleman that was speaking with the front desk person. I stood patiently while awaiting my turn. As they are talking another white guy comes from the back and gets in line behind me. After they are done talking I move up in line where I am now face to face w the clerk. She looks around me and goes to the young guy behind me...I think okay you're over reacting and it's ok. So I then move over and let him around me, he even tells her I was next and she says "no it's ok, how are you paying?" I brush it off as I'm tripping!! So he had trouble with his card and needed to go outside, so he leaves and I move back up in line. The clerk then looks around me and goes to the bench. She never says ANYTHING TO ME!!!!! The girls on the bench explains that she's OK and just waiting and the clerk then says it's ok I'll help you. I AM STANDING IN HER FACE and SHE NEVER SAYS ANYTHING TO ME!!! I then say to (my daughter), "our business is not wanted here" and we walk out. The guy who was in front of me is now outside and as we leave he says, "I'm sorry you had to deal with that." I am in tears and I just said, "it's ok, thank you!" Y'all never in my life have I experienced RACISM!!! I have read about it thousands of times and always wondered what my reaction would be. I can tell you know that I am sitting here at IHOP a hot mess that it hurts y'all. It hurts bad, it made me feel so ughhhhh. I honestly think it touched emotions that haven't been touched in a while. Needless to say I need to find a new vet bc I will never give Dr Misaak my business again after my encounter with his wife this morning. Some may have excuses for this non sense, but let me tell you I am the most caring, loving, open minded, full of God individual and I completely EXPERIENCED RACISM this morning. *****Update...I just called up there and spoke w Debbie who is very sweet. Then Ms Nikki (the lady) got on the phone. I explained to her everything and she says that she doesn't remember a black lady coming in. I told her everything from the time I entered the business and she acknowledged that I had to have been there. She said that she was so caught up in everything going on w their busy morning that she was just trying to help everyone (except me)?! That she didn't mean to overlook me at all. I told her a simple hello, I'll be right with you or something would have changed the entire situation!!!  She then apologies over and over and ends up crying very hard. She told me that she would never be that way to anyone and that she is not racist in any shape form or fashion. She offered to make it right and for me to come by and get free pills and a face to face apology. I told her that I appreciate her phone call and her offer. I also explained to her that I am thankful for her apology. She seemed very sincere with her tone, tears and apologies."While I am happy to see that an attempt was made by this woman to make amends, it doesn't change the fact that she deeply upset my friend, as well as her daughter who was with her. No one, regardless of skin color, religion, sexuality, gender, etc., should be made to feel inferior or like their money doesn't spend the same as the next person's. This is unacceptable and I truly hope that this never happens again in Dr. Misak's office. Read Less

This veterinarian saved a dog for me 17 years ago. I moved out of state and just moved back. Was happy to see that he was still there. I LOVE this vet and will not use another one. The vet is strictly concerned about the animal and doesn't care to chit chat, that's the best way to me. He will answer any questions that you have. Just make sure and ask. The staff seems to do the best they can. They are busy which should be a good sign. They are priced well and take good care of animals. I have NEVER had a bad experience here and will keep my animals there as long as he is in business. Read Less

I want businesses to understand that if you want a good fruitful business you must keep most of your customers happy. I just want to say this man is a total waste as a vet. And yes that is y opinion but I have had 4 other ppl at a different vet office this morning and my dog died BTW , but no one had anything nice to say about this man or his practice. Wonderful! Dr. Misak, and his wife Nicki, are super nice caring people, who care about your babies, and not about getting rich! I know they've had the clinic, since the 70's. Dr. is one of the most knowledgeable, and up-to-date, on all current treatments, and procedures, to keep your babies healthy! I've also heard, he is one of the few, and finest pet oncologist around! I absolutely LOVE Doc, Nikki and their staff!!! My family started using them about 20 years ago when we ran into some issues with the vet we were using in Gravel Ridge. A time pet owner, I am just as new to the dog world as my 8wk old puppy. This office has been so kind and helpful!! They are informative and as swift as possible with the high volume of customers. I took my 7 week old puppy, Marley, today for her first set of puppy shots. The staff was so friendly and helpful. While I was waiting our turn, I watched the interaction of the staff with other customers and their pets and couldn't keep myself from smiling. It is very obvious that they are very caring. I brought my 7 month old English bulldog here after having a bad experience at her first vet, and I love this clinic. Although one of the times that I have been here I did have to wait 45 min to be called back during their ''walk-in'' time frame (even though I had a scheduled appt) but I have to say that I would rather wait for a good vet that takes his time than to be rushed out by one who is trying to get out of the office by 5pm. I love that they have a walk-in time frame because I have needed it before and it is convenient. The staff has been patient with me so far, the vet is not much for small talk while working but he is very informative and takes his time with you to educate you on the issue at hand. I saw a lot of complaints on here about how busy they are and that the staff moves slow but coming from a vet that kicks you out quick, doesn't educate you, and a staff who rushes you to leave, I can appreciate a staff that may get a tad behind due to them working at a steady pace to ensure they are doing things right appose to rushing and making mistakes with peoples pets just to stay on schedule. Rushing caused my $2000 dog (whom I love to death) to almost have permanent eye damage and caused her to have to be sedated again to fix the issue....We want the staff to have patience with us customers, but we are all human so we should have patience with them as well....just my opinion. TERRIBLE. I called in advance to tell them I was coming in because my dog couldn't keep her head up and was shaking really bad and could not keep her mouth closed. It was very apparent that I was scared and she needed immediate attention. I get there and they say he is in the middle of a surgery but when he was done he could see her. I watched him get out of surgery and they let him go in to do another one. While I'm sitting there forcing my dog to stay awake. AN HOUR LATER I asked how much longer it would be and the women at the desk was VERY rude and couldn't give me ANY information. The did not care about my baby's well being whatsoever. Took my cat in to be neutered an declawed. Went the next day to pick him up, paid for pain meds, wasn't sent home with any, left him on the 10th, picked him up next day. Had to make a trip back out there to get pain meds because he was feet were bleeding an he was in pain. My cat still has the collar on because his feet are STILL bloody an hurting , never once thru this did I see the actual Vet or have they called to check on him. Do not take your animals here!!!!!!!! Loved them. They were packed and ran a little behind but it was because they were trying to get everyone seen before closing. There was not any beating around the bush either and I liked that. They worked 2 of my dogs in last minute as well. They are not expensive at all compared to most. The staff was very helpful with suggestions. I have a dog that's allergic to everything........ I took my dog to this place to get his teeth cleaned because the price was better than other vet clinics when I priced around town. They gave my dog too much drugs when they put him to sleep to clean his teeth and since picking him up he has puked twice and isn't eating or drinking water a day later. Idk what's up with all those negative reviews back in 2009 but I've been taking my husky here for 6 months now for grooming and vaccines and they've always taken great care of him. Heather is sooo good with him and he gets dried properly unlike other places. They are so affordable it's ridiculous! One stop shop for my furry kids. I refuse to go anywhere else! Read Less

If  you have a very large buddy do not bring him or her here. they don't have the room for them to move around, waiting room or exam rooms. They also do not know how to deal with a grande dog to begin with. We came in for appt. they said they would take him back, thought it would be to a room. Wrong, it was to a cage. He wouldn't go and pulled out of his collar. They brought him back and said so. "He,ll go with me. We went back they said it was a dog run it 6ft. long. My dog is almost that. Its a cage. Went outside with him to wait for our turn. Went back in for our turn. He was to big for the exam room had to go to the spare area. Just wanted antibiotics for a sist that we have dealt with before, worried about infection. They were ready to cut him open to drain the problem without knowing if there was infection. We have been taking our Yorkie here for about a year now.  Dr. Misak and the staff are very friendly and helpful.  He is very thorough and professional and take the time to answer my questions.He even cut us a deal on some flea treatment pills by selling us just two of the large size dog pills and having us cut them into 1/4ths!
