Dr Pate is hands down the BEST. She has been giving excellent care to our family for several years now. We trust her implicitly, and we're pretty hard to please, especially when it comes to our kids. As a past employee, and have worked at other clinics since Bellevue, I would highly recommend Bellevue Animal Clinic. Their staff has by far been the best staff I have ever worked with. All of the staff there care about their patients and clients and their top priority is the well being of the pet. Dr. Marvin and Dr. Pate also ensure that their staff has what they need to stay safe and to do their job. The other clinics I have been at, I cannot really say the same. I took my dog to Bellevue Animal Clinic for grooming ONLY, they were close and could get her in quickly. I understand why now! The groomer at Bellevue is awful. If she can't handle a dog, she claims, "can't be still", then she should find another profession, or decline the appointment if she can't groom a 55 lb dog. My dog who has 10 pups at home was dropped off at 7:30 a. m., I ask the staff to call me when she was done and I would come right up and take her home. Did I get a call...no!!! At 1:15 p.m. I call and the staff told me she was ready and there was no charge because the groomer couldn't do anything with her. (My dog has been to several groomers and they do just fine with her). The staff puts me on hold for 5 minutes, came back to the phone and said the groomer had left. Not only did she skip the grooming, she didn't even bathe her, said she didn't want to throw her back out. FIND ANOTHER PROFESSION!! I wasn't called by anyone to pick Bella up, as they told me they would. That means she was in their kennel, with 10 pups at home, from 7:30-1:15. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL AND DISRESPECTFUL! I will never go back there! I highly recommend Pleasant Valley Vet! They are awesome!! I wouldn't give Bellevue Animal 1 star but I had to in order to post my review. Read Less

So, we boarded our dogs here for a full week. The price was comparable to just about everywhere else, and our dogs came back without incident, perfectly healthy and happy.**Sidebar, they can be slow by e-mail, so if you're traveling abroad without a phone (like I was) For more details - they're excellent on the phone, which was very helpful, they gave us a small discount for asking that our dogs be boarded together (they're best buds, so they're more comfortable that way) and we brought in our own food. And, for dogs, they base price/day on the dog's weight.Also, extra perks, they seem to be a pretty popular boarding space, so our dogs had plenty of friends to play with :) Oh! And there's an outdoor run too, so the dogs do get outdoor time aside from walks. Where things went according to plan, Bellevue was perfect! Where things did not go to plan, they were a little more mixed.The GOOD: my return trip was delayed, so I wasn't able to make the scheduled pickup, and didn't have a phone, so I couldn't call ahead. I did e-mail, but that wasn't received for several days (told you that wasn't reliable) so, we didn't show up for a Saturday pickup, and then they were closed Sunday, so our pups stayed over an extra two days. The good part is they completely understood, and didn't charge a late fee aside from two extra days of boarding, that was really nice.The BAD: Bathing is considered an "extra" along with things like grooming or nail-trimming, so if you're used to clean (ish) dogs, they will come back with a side of extra dog. You can get these services of course, but they're pretty pricey. Also, our puppies were found to have worms, and were treated for them (that was good) as well as extra worming medication for follow-up (also good). BUT, we were charged on-pickup for the medication and fecal testing they performed - which was a significant extra charge that we weren't notified about ahead of time. Also, both dogs came back with several big, fat ticks. Not visible exactly, but very obvious with a quick once-over :PAll in all, it was a very positive experience, and I would happily recommend their boarding, veterinarians, and staff. Took my fur baby in this morning. He seemed to be in pain. Then he pooped in the exam room and seemed better immdiately. We had a full exam while we were there. Everyone we came in contact with at Bellevue was amazing and friendly. They truely care about the animals. The doc explained things in simple terms so I could understand. I can't say enough nice things about the staff at Bellevue Animal Clinic. I've been taking my cats there since 2007 and would recommend them to anyone. My daugher took our 7 month old maltese here to get groomed and RoRo "our dog" came home looking showroom ready.....My daughter said RoRo behaved really good. I love the care my animals received here but it is terribly expensive. Each office visit costs me around $70. JUST TO SEE THE VET! This is BEFORE the medicine, blood tests, shots, etc. Pleasant Valley Animal Clinic is much more reasonable and I receive the same love and attention.Read Less
