I started taking my dog to Chenal Valley Animal Hospital when I moved to LR about a year ago. Though it was a bit pricey, I didn't mind paying more because I felt like it was worth it to get a vet who seemed to genuinely care & a groomer who was great with my dog. Even when I moved to Maumelle, I planned to continue using this establishment for my dog & even made an appointment for a Saturday 3 months in advance to ensure that I got to use the groomer who I prefer. Unfortunately, the events that followed caused me to completely change my mind about Chenal Valley Animal Hospital. I don't usually let one bad experience completely change my opinion about a place, however this situation was an exception. I woke up early & commuted to WLR this past Saturday so I could drop my dog off by 7:30 a.m. as they had requested. But when I arrived, the employee at the front desk informed me that there were no groomers working that day. She even tried to argue with me that my appointment was scheduled for the following weekend until finally admitting that someone had rearranged the schedule & they didn't notice it until the night before. The best part though? They weren't planning on calling me to tell me until Monday, which does me absolutely no good if my appointment is on a Saturday -- were they just counting on me forgetting or not showing up?? As I told the (very unapologetic) employee, they had ample opportunity to call & inform me that my appointment had been rescheduled -- the night the realized it, for example, or even early that morning before I drove all the way there with my dog. The most frustrating part was that I had made another appointment in LR for the same morning because of my dog's appointment, which meant it was a completely wasted trip & I had to rush all the way back home to Maumelle to drop him off in order to make it back in time. Though I expressed this frustration with the employee at the front desk that morning, she acted like they had done nothing wrong -- in fact, she spent a good amount of energy trying to place the blame on ME. The thing is, I'm a pretty forgiving person. If you can at least admit your wrong-doing & make SOME effort to fix it, I'm not going to hold it against you. If their reaction in this situation would have been at the very least apologetic (I honestly don't even remember her apologizing at all), my dog & I would still be a customer there. But sadly, as a result of their attitude & reaction to this situation, I will never bring my dog back.Read Less
