The experience we had with Hillcrest Animal Hospital is pathetic. They have the nerve to call themselves an "animal hospital" - ARE YOU KIDDING ME!!!!!!? They can't even do their own blood panels over there. They treated our beloved little 3-year-old Welsh Terrier for one solid year and the last trip - a week ago Thursday - they managed to finish him off.....he's dead! Thanks to Hillcrest Animal Hospital. I am amazed they continue to exist. I would NEVER take any animal over there again. I would tell anyone I come in contact with to run from them - fast and far. I was referred here from my regular veterinarian in Conway for an abdominal ultrasound. My dog, Benji, had been vomiting for 3 days. This clinic went above and beyond. I was able to get in for an appointment the same day. Wait time was minimal, the doctor was thorough and knowledgeable but also very down to earth and caring. Just happened to walk by this clinic after I found a stray dog. They were busy, but they were quick to help me scan him for a chip and give me options on places to reach out to and websites to post him. The girls at the front desk were all upbeat and very willing to help, even though they were packed! Definitely recommend them, great service! Hard to come by now a days. We have used Hillcrest Animal Hospital and Dr. Joan and Dr. Larry Nafe for over 15 years. They have always been friendly, caring, kind and honest. Little Rock is most fortunate to have a vet with the vast training and experience of Dr. Larry Nafe. He is truly a miracle worker. This past year our 3 lb. Yorkie had a severe neck/spinal injury that left us with no hope of survival without surgery and quality of life issues with surgery. They were very honest and kind when explaining the risks and odds involved. They were very thorough in explaining the costs of the surgery and long term follow up after surgery. We chose surgery and prayed for a miracle. Because of Dr. Larry's deft touch and excellent skills we have our miracle. The accident was a year ago Valentine's Day. I use to work here, and hated several things about this place. Most of all they make the staff lie to the customers. One specific routine lie is that when you drop your pets blankets off, they have to make it seem like they actually use them, when infact, your pet sits in a cold steel cage the whole time.Read Less

I was extremely impressed with my experience here. I called yesterday (MLK Jr. Day) in the morning and they were able to get me an appointment that afternoon for my cat who was coughing and wheezing. I got there about 15 minutes early and they took me right back. Dr. Ericksen and a tech were great with my cat. Dr. E explained all of the options for me and was very upfront about costs. I've heard this place was overpriced, but I felt like the prices for the exam, blood tests, and antibiotics were extremely affordable. Happy to have Summer set up with a great vet in town. Read Less

I have never done a Facebook review before, but felt compelled after our first experience with Dr. Clark yesterday. Our 7-year-old Boxer had been sick for two weeks; our regular vet clinic had us racking up large bills and a misdiagnosis after first sending us home saying she was fine. Dr. Clark figured things out (a terminal heart condition) in less than an hour and was professional and compassionate every step of the way especially when it was determined our pup wouldn't survive. We lost our Mercy yesterday, but Dr. Clark gained a new customer and will be seeing our Grady from here on. Read Less

These extremely caring people comforted my pit bull without hesitation over her breed. They were patient with my special requests for euthenizing my sweet Sox, and every person we met tried to be consoling. The vet was highly professional, and kind enough to give my family plenty of time and room to grieve over our loss. Hands down, the best! Dr. Butner is more like family now as she has cared for and loved my girls with me to the very end- from GI issues, Disko spondylitis, and even when it was time to cross the Rainbow Bridge, I could not ask for more compassion, honesty, reliability, or expertise when it comes to the fur babies that I love wholeheartedly! Dr. Razer saved my lab mix when vets at other clinics had no hope, but I am thankful because it led me to Hillcrest! The entire team of staff there is amazing and I would be lost without them! They know how to gently lift your 100 lb + senior dog into the vehicle without hurting them, they actually listen, care, and are faithful to relay messages and keep their word, and they even save their microwave lunch containers for scatter-brained pet moms like me who ran out of the house too quick to remember the water dish. Poor follow up. Called after having our cats front paws declawed. Never responded. Our cat would rather sit on its hind legs than put pressure on its paws. It's been weeks since surgery. Our first cat didn't have any of this pain post-surgery. We used Benton Veterinary hospital and they were very attentive and caring. Will not be back.Read Less

I brought my dog in because she had an ear infection. When I made the appointment they mentioned she was due for her annual vaccines. I said Yes, I know but she has an ear infection and has scratched a scab off the top of her head which was bleeding. They made an appointment for that afternoon which was great. I took her in and was greeted immediately and everyone was very nice. While we waited, they kept apologizing that they did not have a room yet but I did not mind. Someone came out and said she was going to take her and weigh her. (I assumed that was to save time as they were busy) They brought her back and soon we were called to a room. The Vet walked in with a clipboard full of shots and started to give her an injection while telling me she was fecal and heart worm negative. I said Wait a minute!! We are here for her ear. She was not tested for heart worms or fecal testing. She then told me "Oh we did that when we weighed her!" WHAT!!?? Then she proceeds to tell me it is fine to give her her annual vaccines as she is giving them. Sheesh! She then looked at her but did not use an otoscope or anything. She asked if she could "trim a little fur" from the scabbed area on her head (about the size of a dime) to look at it. They took her out of the room and returned her. She handed me some medicine and told me to use it twice a day. I asked her if she had cleaned out the fur and debris from her ear and was told yes. Got her home. Checked her ear, it was still a mess! Fur all matted down in it and crusty discharge all over the outside. Then I looked at her head. They easily shaved off a silver dollar's worth of her fur...ON TOP OF HER HEAD, to look at a healing scab... $196.00 for all this! They even charged me for the tag from the county! WOW... I am not used to my dog being taken out of the exam room, ever. I do not like it, nor do I like being lied to. I do not appreciate tests being performed without my knowledge or permission, either. Every time I took my dog to this clinic, the bill was double and sometimes even triple what the cost should have been. Don't go here unless you want to spend a ton of money for services that you could get elsewhere. Read Less
