My vet since the mid 80's whenever I've lived in LR and in the years in between moves...we actually scheduled our cat's yearly checkups once a year to coincide with visits back to my parent's (we're military) and as soon as we moved back permanently, of course, we came right back! Had to bring my 10 1/2 year old German Shepherd at the absolute last minute due to him tangling with a skunk! Ughhh...I know, right! The got him in and fixed up quickly and did not cost a fortune. I adore Dr. Miller - he doesn't try to charge unnecessary charges, and he's the one of the very few left of the " wonderful older school" type veterinarians who make it seem that they truly care about pets versus trying to get you to buy this expensive food or tests that aren't necessary based on animal's age or other qualities. One of the up front staff members comes across slightly brash which is the only reason that I wouldn't give it a 5th star. Read Less

I have been using this vet for a couple of years now. I have never had any problems with him. Unlike the previous poster, I appreciate that the doctor runs yearly tests on my dogs. With the recent scares with the lack of efficacy with heartworm preventatives, I'm so happy to know we are doing what is best for our dogs by testing every year. Yes, I also was charged an exam fee with their checkup. The doctor did examine my dogs so I don't feel that fee is exorbitant, especially because the vaccines are heavily discounted, as it shows that right on the receipt! I don't go to my human doctor and expect him to prescribe me any medication I want without him even examining me, so why would I expect that of my veterinarian! Read Less

My kids have been at this vet for years and it is same story over and over when it is time for thier shots - We need to test for this and do this and this. We just say No just the shots and they seem to get a little put out. We were even billed for exams and all they got was 2 shots. We have had Our girl spade and blood work done and by no means was it a deal. If you have a question, good luck on getting a call back. Moving to a qualified and more professional vet. Read Less

My dog was a patient there for many years, but she only went in for her yearly. She was not feeling well or eating well for two days, so my husband took her in for a visit. They were there for about 20 minute. They did lab work, and gave her three Rx. My husband brought me home a bill for around $280. I was charged $122 for the lab work that was done. I'm a nurse for a local Doctor and we only charge $60 for the same lab. I called about these charges, and was told I would get a called back. I never received a call back. Read Less
