When I called back to make another appointment and ask why she didn't call me back, they didn't know anything, told me to suck it up and there's nothing they can do. We have a 7.5 lb York is and they treated HIM like a prince, and that is the important thing, and they treated me like the king paying for it . We were new to town and they were available when we needed them. Their prices seemed a little high, but the care and attention my wife's newest baby got was second to none. I didn't check around for other prices, so theirs may be the lowest around. I don't know or care. They were great to work with and her dog loved them and survived his sickness. Read Less

I would definitely recommend this vet, they are polite, professional, and know what they're doing. The facility is VERY clean and up to date. The vets are very experienced and were nothing but kind. I grew up with a Pomeranian & Dr. Southerland saw her for her puppy shots & also put her down when she was 13 years old. Now I have two beagles & a husky & they have seen both Dr. Southerland & Dr. Kaufman. They are both GREAT vets & I have never had a bad experience here. The staff is very friendly & informative. Our rescue started using Kiehl a year or so ago. They have helped save A HUGE amount of dog. These babies have gone on to find forever homes and live the lives they could have never imagined. My personal experience with them was a rather unfortunate visit. I was the owner of a German Shepherd/Wolf hybrid. Yes, he was a rescue. He was, how should I say this.. a not so friendly guy to anyone but the family. His hips had failed, he had spinal damage and so many other health issues. He couldn't walk anymore. I knew it was time. These people were so respectful and treated my old man with dignity. I was a basket case and they didn't make me feel silly. My dogs have seen all the Doctors at one time or another. Dr. Hawley has been taking care of my dogs since 2006 and we followed her to this place. We saw Dr. Sutherland yesterday. He was absolutely wonderful. He wasn't in a hurry and he found out where my dog's pain was coming from. A couple of years ago Dr. Kauffman treated my rescue dog for heart worms. I brought my 16 year old dog in because she had been sick with stomach problems for several days. Dr Hawley was the sweetest, kindest veterinarian that I have ever had the privilege of meeting. Dr. Southerland and the staff at Kiehl Ave Animal Clinic are the best! I've been to many clinics, but they "get it". When I had to put down my best "little" furry friend in the world (the worst thing any of us sometimes have to do) he was very compassionate, comforting and gave me time...plenty of time with her. I know they needed that room, but I'm a cryer and he had the compassion to give me time to just sit with her and say goodbye, and gain enough composure to walk to the car. They also offer a surprisingly affordable cremation service. I'm happy that I never have to leave her behind. Her beautiful carved container is nice enough to display, but I know she is with me. She can't be accidentally dug up or disturbed. Now with my best "big" furry friend they are making sure he stays as healthy as possible, even though I have to travel and it's easy to overlook something they are great at a reminder...they are very reasonable, very caring, and very hard working. I've been with them since 1991. I really appreciate how they even ship me products when needed. Trying to get an out of town vet to just give him his medicine was an expensive battle, but they probably saved his life by knowing him since he was a pup and making sure he gets the best care and medicine. We take all of our animals here. If you have a feline, I would suggest Dr. Kaufman. She really loves cats, and my wife dubbed her the cat whisperer. We adopted a kitten they rescued. Unfortunately she succumbed to a birth defect, but this animal clinic and the whole staff were very friendly and they all truly care about all of their patients, both animal and human. They treated my ferret, Jackie, super well and did everything they could to try and help her get better. She wound up succumbing to what was wrong with her but they did and amazing job. They care about their patients and helped me keep my fur baby as comfy as possible in her last days. I called the day after she died to let them know and a week later I got a condolence card and it made me feel so much better knowing they actually cared. They also call and check on your pet to see how they are doing. I highly, HIGHLY recommend them. I love the service I got and will be bringing all of my other pets to them if needed!Read Less

I read the previous review and I think they must've gotten this place confused with maybe the animal hospital. This place was amazing. Sweet staff and great doctor. I'm military and didn't have a lot of money to spend and the doctor didn't try to push unneccesary stuff on me. He'd tried to help figure out stuff the cheapest way possible even gave me discounts. He took calls after hours while at home, talked to me for free the first time I talked to him, did everything they personally can. At the end of the day my precious cat was riddled with cancer that by the time I got to the doctor was too massive to save. The doctor showed me the cancer even when I was having a hard time grasping that my cat was too far gone to save. Although she was too far gone to save he didn't just put her down. Instead on my request he sewed her back up and let her come to so I could have one last moment with her before I had to say goodbye. He didn't over charge or try to stack stuff on. If anything he ruled out unneccesary stuff and did stuff for Misty that he didn't even charge for. As far as their staff, they were sweet as can be. I stayed up all night with Misty and didn't eat anything. They brought me something to drink and cookies just to try and take care of me. They were so nice and comforting during this hard time for me. I couldn't suggest a better place to go. You can go in the office and see that they don't spend a lot of money on fluff. The office has old chairs and the doctor isn't real fancy because he tries to do whatever he can to treat these animals and keep them alive in a way that the owners can afford. I'm grateful I stumbled across him and he helped me have more days with my precious cat and did everything to make her more comfortable during this tough time. If I would've noticed it sooner he would've been able to save her. However by the time she was brought in she had two human fist size of cancer eating her stomach and intestines. Awful service and staff. This place trumps up charges and tries to take advantage of good owners. Really sick for a place that is supposed to be geared to wards helping animals.
