We had to put our last dog to sleep due to her aggressive nature...a dog that I loved beyond words. It was one of the hardest pet decisions my family and I had to make. Every staff member was extremely kind, gentle, patient and understanding. They helped me understand that the decision, while not easy, was best for her and the safety of others. We have been patients of North Hills Animal Hospital for many years. I love the entire staff. All of the techs and assistants are wonderful and very knowledgeable . We have been through good, bad, and very sad times and unbearable situations. Dr Campbell has always been straight forward, explained our options and gone out of his way to do all that is possible. I have never felt like we are "just a job". Neither he nor Dr Mounts have ever acted like they were in a hurry or to busy to answer questions. And they have all cried with Ron and myself. The receptionists are so good to work us in if there is an emergency, and with 13 kitties there are occasional emergencies. I had taken my dogs here for doggie daycare and my dogs had fun and loved the staff but I will be using a different facility in the future. Everyone but one particular person is very friendly. The only issues I had was the long wait while dropping them off and picking them up, causing me to be late to work many times even when arriving at 7 am on the dot. They lied to me about taking their harnesses off, and after telling me I could leave their things at the facility, I had to haul a big bag back and forth while having a big dog on leash in each hand. I called this morning about a last minute appointment for a rash that was spreading rapidly on my Doberman. I called at 8am and was seen at 8:45, which btw was my appointment time, no waiting another hour past appointment time to be seen. That's honestly a make or break it for me- especially since I'm paying for everything out of pocket, my time is just as important as anyone else's. Did I mention I was a new client? New client Paper work was a breeze and it wasn't a hassle at all- My dobermans are very protective of me so they were willing to do the exam away from me so my pup would feel more comfortable. The doctor was very thorough at explaining every little thing & answered every question I had, he even went so far as telling me good job on taking such good care of the wound thus far. I didn't feel rushed at all. We ended up leaving at 930, with everything we needed to make my baby boy feel better. These people care about your pets and you. I started bringing my cats here about 3 years ago. They discovered that what was thought to be a polyp in my 16 year old cat's ear was cancer. They told me of the treatment options we had and worked with me to make him happy and comfortable until the time came. When it did six months later they were incredibly compassionate and loving. Our dog began to show signs of being sick that progressively got worse over a couple of days. So we made an appointment at our regular vet hoping to find some answers. At one point the kids had let the dog out and i am certain he was determined to find his place to hole up and die...this was most evident as we had to disassemble our deck to get him out. Subsequently we were 20 minutes late for our appointment at the regular vet...of which their reply to us and our dying dog was that we would have to wait several hours before we would be seen as there were other scheduled appointments. Rediculous. So we called the North Hills Animal Hospital (NHAH), explained our plight and our dogs symptoms, we were seen within 20 minutes. Poor Rigby (our dog) had an IV within 30 minutes. All of the staff and facilities at NHAH were absolutely outstanding in every way. Their expertise, promptness, compassion, and precision was exactly what we needed. My dog was removed from my supervision and kept for cover 3 hours despite repeated requests that she be brought to me or I to her. I was informed that the clinic does not allow owners to accompany their pets. I was not consulted as to what course of action might be best for my pet. After almost 4 hours, repeated requests, and finally a threat of legal action, I was given my pet, her diagnosis, a bag full of medicine and a bill. The stress I felt was uncalled for and completely avoidable. The lack of interaction with the vet is quite bizarre. Read Less

Upon arrival for our first scheduled appointment a staff member was seated at her computer and said she would be with me in a moment. After about two minutes she nonchalantly passed me off to another staff member so she could place a food order. OK. Next the second front desk staff member proceeds to tell me that we did not have an appointment. I recited the telephone number and verified that the 3 min 30 sec conversation I had the previous day was, in fact, with a staff member at the facility. During check up and consultation for my kittens declaw I am told that they like to do declaw procedures on kittens younger but he's not too old(he's seven months). The only thing is he would have to consult with the other vet that is actually doing the procedure to make sure she is comfortable with removing the back claws as well... two days later we get the green light to schedule the surgery. I take my kitten to the facility at 7am for the procedure and was called at 9am to come get him because he didn't weigh enough (3.7lbs), which contradicts what I was told initially by the vet three days earlier. Was my kittens weight not charted? Did the two doctors even talk to each other? Two stars because the facility was clean and comfortable however, any healthcare facility that doesn't properly chart vital signs or employs staff that negates them is not safe, especially for my Drake.Read Less

I wouldn't take my pets anywhere else but here! These are the best people and Dr. Hawley is the best vet; she makes you feel that your pet is the most wonderful animal alive. I had a sick little puppy and was desperate for an appointment somewhere on a Saturday afternoon - which isn't easy to find.  I called North Hills and described the issue, asked their advice, and they were able to squeeze me in for an appointment that same afternoon.  They also gave me a very accurate estimate for how much my appointment would cost, as I was worried about it being outrageously expensive.  I found the prices to be very fair: $45.50 for the initial appointment, $15 for fecal test, $21 for the meds my pup needed, and $19 for a vaccine.  When I arrived, all the staff was helpful and friendly, and very understanding that I was on a budget and let me know all the costs before doing anything.  The Dr. was knowledgeable, caring, and extremely helpful- it really seemed like she enjoys what she does (Dr. Holly I believe).  I will definitely use North Hills Animal Hospital again in the future!
