A PEACEFUL GOODBYE AT HOME Saying goodbye to an ailing pet is never easy but euthanasia is often the last act of kindness we can offer our furry family members. My goal is to help you say goodbye in the most comfortable and stress free way possible - in the comfort of your own home where you can avoid the stressful sounds and smells of a typical hospital. Consultation During our conversation, I will speak to you about your pet and answer any questions you have regarding the home euthanasia process.  We will discuss your pet's condition, quality of life, and set up a scheduled visit if requested. Euthanasia A sedative injection is typically given under the skin prior to euthanasia to allow your pet to relax and be as comfortable as possible.  Once he or she is sedated, I use a temporary catheter to administer propofol (anesthesia) so that your pet is completely asleep. Then I will administer the euthanasia solution and a saline flush. Aftercare Depending on your desired plans, I can help you with cremation arrangements and transport him/her for cremation, or you can have the cremation company contact you directly regarding your final wishes. You can choose either individual cremation (return of ashes) or communal cremation (no return of ashes).
