I have seen some negative reviews on her but I honestly have been there a couple of times and it has always been a great experience.  Our family dog who is now 14 years old has been treated here for arthritis.  We know he is almost to the end of his road and they have been very kind and patient with us.  We have also taken one of our cats who fell ill after eating something he shouldn't have and he's on his way to a full recovery.  We have seen both Dr. Mousa and Dr. Toro and they are both great at what they do.  Give them a try. Amazing quality vet care for my Standard poodles    I wouldn't take them anywhere else. I drive from Ganesha hills to go to this vet. I would recommend them to anyone.  Very trustworthy place.   I have been coming here for over 20 years, since dr Brendly. I read through the reviews on yelp and most reviews where good with a few that where not as pleasing. All I have to say that people really have to think when they write a review, it is not fair to complain  about plan of treatment or cost. If they don't like it then they should go to another vet. Do your own research before spending your money.  This vet is affordable and professional and it is very obvious his love for animals. I have brought all my dogs here to see Dr Mousse for yrs. Staff is so friendly & Dr Moussa is amazing with all my dogs. One of my dogs passed away 15 yrs ago & it was the hardest thing to imagine. I took my cat in because she had some sort of mouth infection. The dr took care of her and the whole team was wonderful in taking care of my cat. So who would have thought that you would have to stand and wait for 15 minutes for no absolute reason at all just to pick up your dogs ALREADY filled prescription. The lady with the dirty blond curly hair is the perfect example of horrible customer service. I wish I had got her name to leave it here as a warning to others. She made me sign in just to get my dog's prescription, which I have never been asked to do after my 20+ years of going here. I told my self alright I will sign and then she will give me the prescription and I can go. Oh no! She left me standing there for 15 minutes as she proceeded to ignore me, give me dirty looks, and walk away from the counter. She allowed they people to pay for their prescriptions. So after she abandoned the front desk, I was pissed. Then the vet tech Brittney, came to the front desk and I told her why I was here and why was I kept waiting for so long just to pick up a prescription. She was super nice and allowed me to pay for the prescription and leave. She was very sweet and made up for that horrible woman who obviously does know how to do her job let alone be nice to paying customers. Read Less

Wonderful helpful people. They offered me a free first time appointment and hope for my German shepherd Sheba. I needed a second opinion because the other vet i went wanted to put her down but she's only 6 years old and is full of life and doesn't seem that bad. I'm in the process of getting her medical records to our new doctor at the Alta Loma animal hospital . The out come is still unknown but the staff and Doctor our positive and hopeful . I called in saying I need to confirm my dogs pregnancy, set an appointment, I waited longer then anyone coming in after me, I walk my dog inside the room finally and vet says, how can he help to which I say i need to confirm her pregnancy, he says we dont have an ultrasound machine, I walk out and get charged for the visit!!! I asked if she was certain and to ask the vet, she goes out back and comes back saying yes I saw him so I have to pay. I had my 2 young children so I paid and left. I take my dogs here because they do good work at a reasonable price.  Dr. Moussa is very good and has healed my dogs several times.  The facility is OK but I'm not paying for a fancy place.  the staff is good but the waits are extremely long, about an hour, each time I go.  If you want decent health care for you pets at a reasonable price, but don't mind waiting in a crowded waiting room, then this could be your place. I have been here a couple times and the pricing is the only thing that made me come back. Now after receiving amazing care from another local vet I am ashamed I took I pets here. My last experience was I took my male cat in for a swollen wound that needed cleaning. The vet was kind at first and suggested surgery I didn't have the funds at the time so I asked if I could get antibiotics and he could please clean it up. He agreed then went to look at my cat and realizing he was not fixed his whole attitude shifted. He walked out never to return and had them bring me antibiotics and pay and sent me in my way. Wow! I was calling around to get the best price for an exam and possible X-Rays must've talked to 8-10 hospitals. Called this hospital and talked to Carol she gave me info but wasn't sure on a certain question so she put me on hold waited a little bit but Dr. Maussou the vet actually took my call and gave me the info. Was kind of hesitant because some reviews weren't that great. However, he was very kind and so was the staff. I decided to go there and was taken in pretty quick, the Dr gave my yellow lab (Buddy) a full check was very thorough and come to find out Buddy wasn't as bad as I thought. He took really good care of him and they even managed (Liz) to squeeze me in for a grooming (even though she was booked). Great service!!! I'll be coming here from now on!! I will never consider bringing another one of my pets to this hospital again. My 1 year old dog had a growth on his ear so I took him in as soon as possible like any other concerned owner would and Dr. Moussa gave him an inflammation shot and prescribed him some antibiotics and told me to bring him back in 2 weeks if it did not go away. It didn't go away but actually got worse so I brought him back and the Dr. said he needed surgery. He picked up my dog and started walking out as he was telling us about what he would do in surgery and the cost. He wasn't going to give us a chance to kiss him goodbye or anything (which is just insensitive given the situation) and then he said he wouldn't get to the surgery until the following morning and that my dog could just spend the night there. I didn't feel comfortable with that or have the extra money for a kennel fee so they told me I could bring him back at 8 the next morning. I brought him back on time and the ladies at the front desk said that I could call and check in after 1pm for an update on how the surgery went. I called at 12pm just to see how he was because he hates being there and the woman that answered the phone refused to give me any information regarding my dog which is not okay, they should have no problem informing how my dog is doing. I called back even more worried and upset at 1pm to see how he took the anesthesia because he is a small dog and a different lady answered and she too refused to tell me anything about my dog. She told me to call at 2pm because that was when he would be done with surgery so I did and I was put on hold for 20 minutes. At this point I was so upset I just drove down without calling again to get my dog and make sure he was okay. When I get there she hands me my dog and all she told me was that they surgery went well and I had some papers to sign. After signing she just told me goodbye and to have a good day, She gave me no aftercare recommendations for my dog or medicines prescriptions or advice on anything. I had to ask her to tell me all the information I needed for hsi aftercare like if he needed a cone or if it could get wet and whatnot. When I did ask, she made me wait until she was done with other clients. Overall, It was a bad experience and I feel bad I took my dog there. I would not recommend them at all. Read Less

I can't thank Dr. Moussa or the staff enough. We have been coming here for over 12 years. They were so unbelievably kind when we had to put our beloved Lucy down and when  our other dog became ill Dr. Moussa recommended certain tests for us to figure out the problem but in no way did I ever feel like he was trying to get me to spend money, in fact quiet the opposite. He is very sweet and explains things very well so we fully understand the situation. I even recommended him to my mom who has a jack russel aged 15 that was doing terrible thanks to another vet who didn't give him the right meds. I'm happy to say 1 year later he's still doing great. I want everyone to know what a horrible the hospital this is. I'm a very timid cat that she was 14 shadow of medical conditions so I finally had to make the choice of putting her down and I wanted to hold her paw. So they put me a my little cat in a room and took out a shot shaved her leg and the shot was pink which I later learned that's the poison. She is my family member who I trusted this clinic to put her to sleep very kindly it was just the opposite. I normally put an IV in and give a sedative and slowly put them to sleep forever not this vet, he gave her the whole shot and she was still alive with her eyes bugging out her tongue sticking out and she's still breathing and I had to tell him she still alive so then he told his technician we need give her another shot so then they proceeded to shave another leg and give her another shot which was the straight poison and then her body start convulsing off the table it was a nightmare she was such a kind little kitty and for what she went through at the end because of him was the most horrible horror story you could ever imagine watching I finally couldn't breathe anymore and had to leave the room. It seems like it was forever but what about another 3 minutes where they finally came out and said she's passed now there was no remorse from the staff or the vet. I can actually say I want to him because is very reasonably priced but I heard after this on how he is very very hard on the animals especially when they are put to sleep to get surgeries. This is been a few years and I'm still very traumatized watching my poor kitty go through that so please please don't anyone ever go to this man I'm begging you for your animal sake. WARNING! MOUSSA / ALTA LOMA ANIMAL HOSPITAL ON BASELINE IN RANCHO HAD THEIR LICENSE REVOKED !! BECAUSE OF CLIENT COMPLAINTS ABOUT ANIMAL DEATHS AND RE MEDICAL RECORDS ALTERED AND INSUFFICIENT!! Unfortunately the Vet Board almost never permanently revokes licenses and MOUSSA was allowed to continue practicing while on PROBATION. We have seen many very negative reviews about other animal deaths, and negative reviews by former employees. Our own beloved pet died at MOUSSA's hands as well. Don't believe that he is worth it to save money. He is NOT the most reasonable in the area and your pets could suffer!! Shop around. He usually adds 2 medications and shots for almost everything (we question these are always necessary) and that's how he made money on us until we saw how SHODDY his operation is. And you will wait HOURS in his waiting room. Moussa's practices are DANGEROUS in our opinion. You can read for yourself at the Calif Medical Board website about MOUSSA's LICENSE REVOCATION and why. They will send you copies. Also, according to other online reviews there have been MULTIPLE other clients who filed complaints against MOUSSA and Alta Loma Animal Hospital. Certainly not the friendliest staff I've encountered, but they seem competent enough. Was looking for flea repellant and attendant suggested various options to more reflect my pocket book. Flea treatments Ain't cheap especially when one has more than one dog. Have taken my animals there with good results.           Had to revise my rating and comments. Attitude of staff if anything has plummeted to rock bottom. Very surrely expecting me with a puppy needing attention to know the dr doesn't arrive til 0900. I was there at 0830. Apppintment today? I came here to get my dog's teeth cleaned, and I will never come back. Why??? I haven't seen the vet himself, but anybody who lets his office staff treats people who are paying their bills with absolutely no respect, doesn't deserve my time or business.  And it looks like I'm not the only one complaining about her. April the redhead, was horribly rude for no apparent reason. I was sitting with my two dogs, and I noticed it was busy.  I was sitting for about five minutes, waiting. I understood they were busy so I didn't care if nobody greeted me.  But April after some time decided to ask what I wanted in a tone and demeanor that suggested I was bothering her for just being there! I was so taken back, I asked "excuse me? What do you mean?" And she proceeded to continue with a tone of voice totally inappropriate and unprofessional for customer service.  This lady is something you rarely encounter, especially at a veterinarian office. She is hands down the rudest vet tech employee I have ever come across. If there are multiple complaints about her, the Dr. needs to pay attention and address her behavior so it reflects what an office handling pets and their owners should exemplify- kind, patient, empathetic, courteous, efficient, professional- none of which April exemplified during my visit. I rather not have to pay for services and have the employees take their bad mood swings out on complete strangers.  And strangers who keep your paycheck going. April is an extremely poor reflection on this business.  I will not be returning nor recommending this place to anybody with pets.  Oh, the office isn't the cleanest. Dr Moussa and all the other docs that work here are great. They do good work and really really care about the animals.  No matter when I bring my dogs in they are always seen and given proper attention.  Even sitting in the waiting room I can see that all the animals are taken care of. The place has a lot of patients and the staff does the best they can.  The girls at the front desk are super busy but still very nice and professional. I know people complain but I've never seen anything but  professionalism.  There's a lot of parking including parking in the dirt lot behind the building.  I'll always bring my pets here because I love them and I know they'll be taken care of here. DONT EVER TAKE YOUR PETS TO ALTA LOMA ANIMAL HOSPITAL off amethyst and baseline!!!!! They mixed my cat up with another cat  shaved her belly and prepped her to be fixed! (She's already spayed with a tattoo on her belly) when I called to ask about my concern of finding her belly shaved as soon as we got home Brittany chuckled and tells me that they "mixed up your cat with another cat and prepped her to be fixed but the good news is you got a free shave" Not to mention the nurse walking around with her mouth STUFFED with food chewing like a cow wiping her hands off on her shirt as she calls the next person off the chart! I took my fur baby to upland Banfield pet hospital right after to get checked out and they removed the pressure bandages and said they should have been removed already. My mother's cat Luna was found on our doorstep at 4:30 am. bleeding from the mouth,breathing very abnormally.we didn't know she had gotten out of the house.. There was no vets open in my area,and I had gone here before because my family has been there for over 6 years so I felt I could come here again,so i just tried to keep her company and give her some water to drink in the meantime till the place opened. I got there by 7:30am and waited till they opened the doors. Its finally open at 8 am and I tell them what is wrong with her and they tell me with a slight attitude,"oh the doctor is not in till 9 and he leaves at 12. Do you mind waiting? "Well,by then the cat still seemed okay,but they told me they have no knowledge and cannot tell me anything till doctor comes in.As I am waiting I hear one of the employees complaining all loudly how she is keeping hospital open till 2 pm to do vaccinations instead of 12 because "I am not going to lose out on my hours just because Doctor is leaving at 12"I finally got to see doctor at 9:30,he says apparently it looks like she was hit by a car and that she needs an x-ray right away. The x-ray alone was 145$ off the bat. I agree because I want to help her,and when tests came back the Dr showed me the x-ray and said that she has patches of liquid in her lungs,no broken bones or anything else. He gave her some antibiotic shots and a lasik shot to help with the liquid in her lungs. He said she was Critical condition and to keep close eye on her,I am here wondering doesn't she need to have liquid drained? And he pretty much tells me giving her lasik twice a day will help her. Total for that was a whopping 297$.Fast forward 3 or 4 hours,she has gotten progressively worse,I rush her to emergency at Banfield in Upland because The hospital I had gone to this morning was already closed by 2 pm,and doctor was gone by 12.As we are driving towards the hospital the cat,(Luna) starts thrashing about trying to breathe and i am panicking at this point,moment we got to parking lot she had already gone limp and stopped breathing,I jumped out car while my mom parked,ran as fast I could with Luna in my arms and gave her to the nearest nurse. They tried oxygen mask,CPR,IV,etc. They were wondering why the liquid had not been drained,told me they should have drained her THEN give her lasik. I have this now bottle of lasik that I did not even get to give one dose of.Basically paid 297$ just to see our cat die of drowning in her own lungs of liquid. Had they done their job correctly maybe Luna would have lived.Maybe she would have lived if we were a minute sooner too,but who knows.  Completely heartbroken. FML. Read Less

I'm only basing this review on the staff. One in particular...I recently went to take my dog neutered at 8 in the morning. We weren't very pleasantly greeted with a red head by the name of April. She didn't smile once & just seemed to have an attitude. I understand it's early, but sheesh at least be a little more friendly! We signed in & I filled out our info. Next she asked to weigh our dog. He was very antsy and full of excitement so we were having a hard time getting him to stay still. We've had this problem at other vets before & all the other vet techs were nice about it. But April was soooo rude. She told us with such an attitude that we couldn't hold on to him because it would alter the weight. So we let go. Next thing you know, she holds on to him to try to get him to sit still & just yells at him, "stoooopppp!". I was shocked because we've never had any other vet tech yell at a dog this way...EVER! And she just told us not to hold him but yet she did the same thing?!?!We let the whole situation go & left him to he his procedure done. We periodically called to check on him & every time the phone was answered by April, she's left us on hold for longer than 10 mins. Even when we just called to check when his pick up time was, we were on hold for 12 mins. (I counted!) I understand if you're busy but at least let me know ahead of time if it will be a longer wait. Once we went to pick him up, it took 15 almost 20 minutes to even be acknowledged. We signed in but it seemed like all the vet techs were too busy chit chatting to even check out the sign in sheet. While we were waiting, we were getting dirty looks from that red head April. We were finally able to take our dog home after waiting for 25 mins. He seemed fine but shaken up due to the whole procedure. I'm not too sure how great the Vet is just because we never really has interaction with him but the staff needs to step it up. Especially April. If you're going to work with people & animals, you need to be nice, friendly, & compassionate....not so bitchy & rude. We're never coming here again. Read Less

I took my dog Lala in when she was VERY sick, 3 other vets basically told me to just go home and let her pass. I refused. One Dr. did do a procedure at a cost of $600 and it didn't work. So at this point we were desperate to save my pup. We went to Dr. Moussa all the way from La Puente. We are so happy we did. We arrived and got taken care of right away, they checked her out, did all these things to her, kept her in the back for a little bit to see how she responded to the shots and meds. We were really worried because the Dr.'s (from the other places) said no way she would make it past the week.  It's been YEARS and Lala is a healthy and grew big and strong. Thanks to Dr. Moussa. For you ignorant people with negative reviews, first off- if your dogs dies, AFTER they do everything to save them then I'm sorry to say, but it's simply their time to go. Don't blame them on the Dr. If Lala would of died I couldn't pin it on Dr. Moussa because they had already told her her chances were extremely low of surviving. To the ones complaining about the smell? Hello it's an ANIMAL hospital. I highly recommend Dr. Moussa and I suggest you give his hospital a try. My experience at Alta Loma Animal Hospital has been great! My little Coco was vomiting and very lethargic, Dr. Moussa took the time to explain what the symptoms may be caused by and went through all the procedures that will be done. They did x-rays and blood-work and from these tests he was able to diagnose the problem. He treated my little Coco as if she were his own. I find many of these reviews alarming and only meant to destroy a successful vet. I am very saddened by how vindictive people are. Dr. Moussa is an excellent doctor who cares about animals and is very passionate about his job. Your pets are family and these guys treat them that way! I recommend this hospital to all my friends! I have been taking my critters to him for 8 years and Dr Moussa is kind to everybody. He saved my dog (she ate some bran which bloated her ) if he wasn't a great vet she would have died. Last month I took 3 kittens into him to have fixed now they are running amuck in the house. He has seen all of my critters and not one of them have been harmed . You see I take the critters that know one wants anymore. The vet is W. Moussa and he is not a nice person. He is so phoney when he tries to be nice but watch out this guy can be really nasty, then you really know what he is all about. After a while you learn he really doesn't care anything about you or your animals! He is always in a hurry too even though he made me wait 3-4 hours to see him even with an appointment. I was always surprised how high the bill was. He charges so much for medicine and half the time I don't think it is necessary. He never remembered from one time to the next anything about my pets. He gets his customers confused with each other. He charged for things I found out later he didn't do. He only cares about money. After he really hurt my dog I never went there again.
