I really didn't like the way the doctors dealt with my dog. The philosophy is to drag your dog out of the room and into the back of the business where owners are not allowed. That's where they evaluate what's going on with your dog. I have never been to an office that does this to an animal. It makes me question how they are treating my dog. * Please Read Before Sending your Beloved Pet! If I could give zero stars I would. About a month ago I brought my dog in on an emergency. The emergency being that she was bleeding from her mouth and I could not find the source. The blood was coming out at a pretty alarming rate. Being that this clinic is close to my house and Dr Rosa ( who is no longer at this clinic) as seen another one of my dogs I rushed her here. My dog has lymphoma and gets treatments for her cancer. Never had a problem in over year that we have been doing treatments. After about an hour at the clinic I was told by Dr Costa that they couldn't find the source and she was in communications with my Dogs cancer Dr. They would be giving her blood transfusions and running test to see if her blood was not properly clotting. After hours at this clinic I was told I need to consider PUTTING HER DOWN because Dr Costa couldn't find the source of blood and presumed it was from her cancer. At this point the clinic is closing, Im bawling my eyes out thinking my dog is dying from bleeding to death. I had two options: 1. Put my dog down or 2. Take her to a 24 hour clinic if I wanted to do another blood transfusion. I made some calls and decided to go to the 24 hour clinic as this dog, like most dog owners, is my best friend. 20 min at the 24 hour clinic and was told she had a CUT UNDER HER TONGUE!!!!!! ALL SHE NEEDED WAS STITCHES AND IS ALIVE TODAY! Crazy to think I brought my dog in for blood in her mouth and not once did Dr. Costa look under her tongue. She in fact suggested I should put my dog down, for a cut she couldn't find. After a few days and me cooling down I called the office to speak to the owner. To my surprise the owner did call me back, after a nice 45 min conversation she apologized and offered to refund portion of my bill back since I spent $1800+ and was mis diagnosed. I called today 2 weeks later as the owner told me to do to see about the amount that was credited to account. She said I could come pick it up or use it for my next visit. Well no credit in the account. I asked the owner to call me back again, but this time I'm leaving the review so people can decide for themselves if this clinic will be the right choice with experiences like this. Always get a second opinion is what I've learned and I'm so glad I did. Something so simple as a cut under the tongue almost cost me my dogs life at this clinic. Plus the $1800+ to get no results. If you are looking for a place that will treat your pets right, you have found it here.  All 3 doctors and staffs here are competent and most importantly caring.  My 2 eleven yrs old dogs, honey and Benji,  have been to Yorba Linda, Family pet clinic, and VCA in fountain valley so we know what to expect as far as quality.  My wife and I are very happy with AHPC for its level of service.  This review is a special shout out to the best groomer in area, TJ.  She gained my trust from when she worked at Yorba Linda hospital, and we are so happy that she now works at AHPC.  She delivers consistently great cut and total pet spa care each time my babies are there.  I trust her as much as I trust me with my babies because I believe she genuinely cares about every pet that she provides care.  My cairn terrier can be a handful but she makes him handsome every single time.  We want to thank you TJ so much.  I think TJ should stand for Total Jem.  She goes above and beyond because she is so caring.  Will Read Less

Just about had it with this place! Just returned from a 2:00 pm appointment for 2nd canine flu vaccine.  Arrived a little early, checked in and waited 15 minutes only to be told they were back ordered on the vaccine and didn't have any! Really? Wasted my time on a Saturday due to your incompetence?  They seem very disorganized. Several times I've been notified that my puppy was due for some shots that had already been administered by them. Wondering about their record keeping. Not sure I want my dog treated by these people anymore. Also had a bad boarding experience with them earlier this month. Don't know why this lists my city as San Francisco? I live in Yorba Linda. We've brought our dogs here several times for boarding and grooming. We really liked this place because the facilities are extremely nice and they allow for our two pups to stay together  during their visit. Overall, our experiences have been fairly good. Sometimes the clinic is unorganized though. We often have to repeat things several times to different people due to the lack of communication between staff members or departments. Most of the staff is nice and willing to help, omitting several girls in the front that didn't seem to want to help us. Today our experience was subpar at best. This review particularly addresses today.  We had asked for our lab to be shaved short and when we got him out of grooming, his coat was still fairly long. We called attention to it, and a very nice girl came out from grooming and told us that she was sorry and that she would shave him really quickly for us. Once he was done the girl at the front desk told us that an additional $25 would be charged to our invoice, in addition the $33 we had already paid for the bath and first grooming. The girl said rudely and impatiently that the $33 was for the bath, first grooming and the 'tidies' (tidies being anal gland expressions and a nail trim). Note that we had never asked for AG and NT to be done when we dropped the dogs off. We had just wanted the bath and the hair cut. When we dropped our dogs off they didn't ask us specifics about grooming. Regardless, I don't understand why we had to pay an additional $25 for our dog to be shaved shorter. We had asked him to be shaved short the first time, and they didn't shave him to the length that we had asked. I'm not sure what the $25 charge is for. They were unwilling to explain and just said that a shorter cut costed $25. We are fine with paying for services, but not when those charges are not well explained to us. It's hard to justifying paying an additional $25 for something that should have been done in the first place, and just wasn't done well as per instructions given. If the staff had been more willing to help and less rude, maybe our experience wouldn't have been so harsh. Unsure if we're coming back. Tip for future patients: check your invoices clearly and very specifically clarify instructions for grooming and boarding during drop off. Read Less

We left our dogs there for grooming and boarding the last few times. The front desk staff are not friendly and not willing to help. Every time I have been here, I have noticed that.They claimed that you can watch your dogs while they are boarding there online , but for the past three times, it never worked. Our regular vet was closed and I needed to take my new kitten in because he had ripped a claw out.  The exam price was same as Dr. Greek's, and an additional fee for the light wound care as the kitten had ripped the nail out completely.  We were so scared as he is our first cat.  Staff are nice and polite.  Dr. Costa was very personable.  I will definitely be back. Not only is their medicine great but their customer service is awesome! I love their whole grooming team as well!  I board my two old cats (one has diabetes and the other kidney failure) and they take great care of them. Mg dog Sam is also a frequent boarder and she has a good time. My impressions of this clinic's practice has been up and down. On my first visit, I was encouraged to buy the "puppy package" for my new puppy (see their website under "specials" for details).  They showed me the list of services in the package, and casually stated that I wouldn't need the items that my puppy already had.  When I asked if the cost for those would then be subtracted, they seemed surprised.  I felt that I had to push to get a little credit on services I won't receive.  They did eventually offer me something and assured me that they were there to help.  The doctor and technician were both professional and friendly.  My subsequent visits and phone calls to the office have all been very positive. I find that the technicians were always willing to answer clinical questions (my previous veterinary office would insist that i bring my pet in for an exam no matter what my question was).  They have also been very patient, whether in person or on the phone.  On my recent visit, I was faced with conflicting information between what the staff told me a few weeks ago and now.  Again, I felt that I had to push to receive a fair product/service. They did, however, resolve the issue.  My conclusion as of now is that1. The doctors appear professional and competent2. The technicians are knowledgeable and willing to help3. The nature of the practice is for profit, so pet owners have to be ready to question everything and make sure you are getting the product and service you paid for.I am holding out hope that the good impressions will continue to build up and I can keep counting on AHPC for the care of my pet. This place is absolutely amazing!!!!!!! I had a pet who was very sick I called them up to bring my pet to have her euthanized when we arrived the staff was friendly and had everything set up and ready to go. As you can imagine this was very hard thing we had to do we had our pet for almost 10 years she meant so much to us. The vet was very thoughtful and caring and compassionate. When it came time for us to say goodbye to our beloved pet they made us feel so comfortable gave us as much time as we needed to say our goodbyes. We chose to cremate are pet it took less then two weeks to get her remains back. When they were ready they gave me a call to come pick them up. When I arrived they gave me a beautiful little bag black and white with little paw prints on it. Inside this beautiful bag was my pet remains the way they did everything was incredible. The box containing her remains had a plaque that had her name and inside the box where her remains were they were nicely bagged up with her name and a little red rose. We also receive a paw print impression of her paw along with a beautiful poem. I really couldn't have asked for anything more. You all are such amazing people and are remarkable at your job. I had a great first experience here. My puppy had broke her leg and her usual vet was unable to see her so they recommended me to Anaheim Hills Pet Clinic. They were able to see her within 30 minutes of my call.  The vet, Dr. Johnson was very nice and genuine. And Kari (I hope I'm spelling that right) was also extremely nice. I really felt like they cared and wanted what was best for my puppy. The staff even went the extra mile to wrap her cast in different colors to match her colorful bows, feathers and bandana. I was visiting from out of the area. My small dog has seizures. I ran out of her medication. She was having a seizure so I called this vet explained situation.. had my vet fax over authorization for the meds needed to help for a few days till I got home to my vet.. all sounded good and covered..  but the story changed when I got there..  wanted to charge for all kinds of tests..  it was a nightmare not visitor friendly at all. Waiting room = A+. Very clean, spacious, smelled great (no weird vet smells). Quiet and pleasant to spend time in while you're waiting to see the vetExam room = A+. Clean, no weird vet smells, big enough so that I didn't feel cramped with 2 people and 2 large cat carriers. They keep the door from the exam room into the waiting room closed and the door to the back closed and let my cats wander around in the room to help them feel more at ease.Staff = A+. I requested an appointment online after hours, I was contacted immediately the next morning by the receptionist to confirm my requested appointment day/time. When I got there, I was greeted and checked in quickly, and the front desk girls were very nice. The nurse that took me into the exam room was so kind to my cats, and gave them treats to try and help them feel less nervous. Checkout/payment = A+. I was able to use my care credit, all of my charges were explained to me ahead of time, and there were no surprises when I got up to the front desk to pay. As I was checking out, I was easily able to schedule a future visit for one of the cats. I initially came here because of Dr. Karla Costa moving to this clinic, and I am happy to say that every other aspect of the check up(s) for my cats exceeded my expectations. It's a huge relief to have found an animal clinic that not only has the doctor I want my cats to see, but that has everything to make visits to the vet pain-free and simple for both owners and pets. My dog had an allergic reaction last night and they had us come right in- I asked and they let me come back with my dog ( she is a rescue pup and has major anxiety) They were so gentle and attentive. Okay let me preface this with I do work for the clinic but that is why this review is unique. I have spent the last several years working with both Dr. Bogan and Dr. Johnson and I never cease to be amazed. In my 16 years of veterinary experience I have never met or worked for a more amazing group of veterinarians. I met Dr. Bogan first out of all the doctors and right off the bat I knew she cared. She cared so deeply for every patient. No matter the case she would go above and beyond for every single pet and owner she met. She also held me to the exact same standard. I then had the privilege of meeting Dr. Johnson and she too held herself and her technicians to the same standard. Their only concern is for their patients and owners. When I first was introduced to acupuncture I was skeptical. It was hard to believe that a "bunch or needles" could change a pet and owners life. However, patient by patient I watched that happen. It was and is truly inspirational. Fast forward to present day. My own pet, a 10 year old Sheltie, has started to struggle. His legs have started to slide out from under him. I am carrying him up and down stairs. I am buying rugs to place all over my floors. It is hard and it pains me to watch my amazing first child struggle to move. We got him within a few months of getting married. So his struggles are especially hard. When this started to happen I knew it was time to take his age serious. So I brought him to work with me. I asked both Doctors to review his radiographs and it was determined for lack of words that his poor spine is a mess. He is in pain and struggling with every step. So, we placed needles, which means acupuncture needles are placed in the areas of concern that need relief and stimulation. He sat through it because I sat there with him. He tolerated it because I did. Then when we finished he hung out until it was time to go home. Now I say this not because either doctor asked me too. In fact they have no idea I am doing this, but it needed to be shared. He limped into the clinic and he walked out. I could see the difference in my pet. He felt better. I have seen this so many times In other pets but to see it in my own four legged fur baby was an amazing sight. Don't get me wrong, his treatment includes medication but not nearly as much as others might send me home with. Especially because my baby cannot have most pain medications prescribed; it hurts his stomach. Acupuncture made a significant difference to my fur baby. Even when we got home he seemed happier. Please understand, acupuncture is not a cure all but it does really work. I was skeptical but seeing how it has helped with my own pet has made an impact on me. Second experience 11/11/16: We just had to do the unthinkable today and put our sick dog down. Our hearts are broken and we have suffered a great loss. Dr Bogan and Ty were there for us today during this whole difficult process. We think Dr Bogan is the most kind, compassionate and sensitive vet we have ever known. We have been following her for years for our pet care and time after time she impresses us with her warmth, kindness and knowledge about animals. Also, Ty was present today and during many other pet appointments. He is also an amazing, warm and kind tech at this facility. Today was no exception. They clearly get the value and importance to our family of each and every pet who is seen at this clinic. Not sure why there is a bad posting prior but there is nothing bad about this place. Dr. Riggs and staff are professional very helpful and extremely caring. Prices are very resonable and of course it is a business but compassion for animals and their humans is what sets this clinic apart for everyone.
