Our 'Patio Cat' that we have been feeding and caring for four years must have gotten 'herself' caught up in a Fight Club as 'she' ended up with a nasty abscess over 'her' right eye.  'She' is a bit wild so we were very apprehensive about getting 'her' into a carrier and over to the vet.  Low and behold lured her into a large carrier with food.They took 'her' right away.  We get escorted to an exam room and we are very concerned that all hell is going to break loose when we open the carrier.  In comes the most wonderful Vet Tech EVER, Melissa.  Well, she befriended 'Miss Bootsie' immediately and all went well!  The doctor was able to examine her and give her medication, as well as, weight 'her'.  When Melissa brought 'her' back from her procedure she announced "it's a boy and HE is spayed!"  So, of course, we were shocked after calling her Miss Bootsie for so many years (how humiliating for him!); now it's Mr. Boots thank you very much.We bring our other two cats there too and everyone is super nice, professional, and truly care about our precious animals.With their help we are proud that we can do our little part in the world to take good care of our animals. I absolutely love Dr. Codde! I have seen her several times and always go away feeling confident that my dogs received the best care. She is simply spectacular with my dogs. This clinic was amazing. I had to do a very hard thing, put down my pup patch. They were so caring and understanding of the pain and emotions I was coping with. My 13 year old Border Collies health has been declining. Last night he had multiple seizures in a row, to the point where he was unable to move this morning. We took him to the first vet we could find open, since we knew it was his time. Dr. Coddes staff came out to our van with a gurney to bring our dog inside. I was a bit shocked at the emergency fee price for opening hours, but our dogs health was more important. Dr. Codde explained the whole euthanization process. She was wonderful, compassionate, caring. We sat with our dog during his final moments. The doctors are excellent and the focus does not always seem to be on "selling" the most expensive procedures or products, but rather, on what is truly best for you and your pet. This place is amazing. My dog hurt his paws late Thursday night and was able to get in first thing Friday morning. The vet didn't rush even though I was a walk in. Explained many options and didn't try to upsale me on products my dog didn't need. He ended up staying two days and they called us to give updates our our boy and let us know he was doing good and they were enjoying working with him. When I picked him up the staff was courteous and took plenty of time to go over after care. And the bill wasn't outrageous as previous comments suggested. I don't give many reviews but the whole experience left me worry free and happy so I want to recognize the excellent service and care I received. Today was my first visit to Cherry Creek Veterinary Hospital. I took an older cat that was not doing well and the doctor there suggested that it would be best to put the cat down. I knew she was right, and she was so incredibly kind and compassionate about it all. The cat just went to sleep and all of the suffering was over with. I cried like a baby and the doctor so kindly give me a hug. I think this is one of the most compassionate places you could take an animal. Every staff member that I met was extremely kind and compassionate. If I need to go again, I will definitely go back to Cherry Creek! Thank you so much for being there in our time of need!Read Less

Dr. Codde is the very best vet in the Sacramento area. In a moment of crisis, she is the only vet I feel comfortable turning to (even though we have to travel a little ways to get to her).  She has operated on both my dogs, very successfully, and kept me informed throughout.  Her staff at Cherry Creek is also very caring and responsive. I started coming to this clinic shortly after Dr. Codde purchased the practice. I couldn't be happier with the care that both of my dogs receive. I have a 15 year old Black Lab and a 4 year old Golden Retriever. My pups have been to the clinic numerous times. During every visit I have always been welcomed by the staff and I have enjoyed the experience. I have brought one or both of my dogs in for nail trimmings, spay, checkups, dental cleanings etc.  For those who know me, they know my dogs are my priority. My dogs aren't just dogs. My dogs are my children. I know I have found a great place for my babies when I can leave them there and not have one concern. I highly recommend this clinic so you can experience it for yourself. Came in here for rabies shots only for my 3 dogs. I called at 4 and they got me in at 4:30! Charged me $15 per dog which included the shot, the rabies certificate and the rabies tags. What a deal!!! These guys are money hungry!!! So be warned!! The techs....except one older lady tech....were very nice. The Vet....she was nice though she seemed like she was looking for something else to diagnose my pug with. I took him in for a spider bite that's it! The Dr. Rauhaus kept trying to insist he get blood work done and test for cushings disease which I know he doesn't have. She said she felt lumps where there were none.....they look for more to charge you for...it's like the doctors are sales people rather then doctors. If it hadn't been an emergency I would have taken my pug to his normal vet.  My mom took her pugs there and they were nasty to her. Her pug has diabetes and she was unaware until they tested.....they tried to tell her that her pug has cushings disease too. He does not even have any of the symptoms. They quoted her 1500 to do the ultrasound a d full texting.....money hungry!!!!! Read Less

We use Cherry Creek Veterinary to board our furry child. The reason??1) Our child doesn't play well with other animals, otherwise we would have friends or family members care for him.2) We don't want him sitting home alone, we could've used a pet sitting service, but he has abandonment issues also. 3) Cherry Creek is one of the most affordable boarding kennels in the area. 4) It's a veterinary hospital so I can be rest assured that while my baby is here, there is a veterinarian on duty We've been coming here for almost a decade now and we've used them only for our boarding needs and we've always been satisfied with the care that our fluffball has received. They are open seven days a week and the office hours aren't too bad either.The only thing I would like to request is if they would give you a discount for animals being boarded for a long period of time. I've always have received great service here. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable. The staff might look a little rough around the edges, but they have never let me down. I always walk away feeling like they answered all my questions and my pet was in good hands. I've brought hamsters, a guinea pig, and a dog here for services. They don't do turtles or birds. Before I begin, I'd like to poin out that they were taken to small claims court for "professional negligence". It's public record. Click here. services.saccourt.ca.gov…They also have complaint history with the Better Business Burau. bbb.orgBasically, a wounded 10 lb dog in their care for an hour and a half, dies, and the invoice somehow came to $1,150.00. Please read on.My very large dog bit my neighbor's very small dog, Max. He took his dog into Cherry Creek, and called my husband to meet him there. They said Max's leg was broken and he had pucture wounds, and needed surgery or he wouldn't make it.  They asked for a deposit of $660.00 for the surgery, my husband put down the deposit.  They had the dog back there for an hour and a half "stabilizing" him. When my husband asked to see the X-rays to show to our vet to take him there for surgery, they got standoffish, and came out no more than 5 mins later saying Max didn't make it. They then asked for another $489.00, on TOP of the $660! NO SURGERY WAS PERFORMED!  They didn't save the dog! What justified $1,150? We had our cat hospitalized for 3 days, AND had surgery and the bill came to $439.57 at Elkhorn Walerga vet. Another weird thing, After refusal of payment, she offered a discount WEEKS later, if the owner came back to get the remains of the dog and bury it himself, which he ended up doing. My question is, WHY did she still have the dogs remains after that long? But hey, what do i know. I felt like we were being held at gun point, this is ROBBERY in my opinion. Paula Parker is the owner. I would guess that she has very little repeat customers, so her outrageous bills makes seem like she is in desperation to keep her practice open. Everytime I go to Walmart and look over at her parking lot, it's pretty empty. My recommendation is Elkhorn Walerga vet. It's pretty close, and I've been there several times over the past few months and they are AWESOME and honest. The doctors really care about the pets. Also, Paula Parker's demeanor was HORRIBLE when I went in to talk to her about the bill. She doesn't care AT ALL and thought the bill was completely fair. She needs to be exposed. Read Less

Dr.Parker is the best out of the staff of veterinarians. The experience  Dr. Parker has is a bonus. Unfortunately, this place can suck every last dollar out of your pocket. We were quoted a price of $85-90 for a urine test for our dog. They said if they had to use an ultrasound, it would cost over $130.I called another local vet that charged me a flat $35 and that was with the use of ultrasound. Since we needed two urine tests, we had spend a total of $70. If we had Cherry Creek perform the tests, we would have spent an estimated $170-$260. The bottom line is that while service and quality are important, you have to research prices when it comes to taking care of your furry ones. Read Less
