The best vet around!! The vet is a man with more knowledge and compassion than any around. He will never suggest more than what is needed for your pet.

We've been using Dr. Maloney for years. If your dog isn't pulling on the leash to go to your vet, then try this place. Both my Bloodhounds love going here.

I've found our new vet! This place is the perfect clinic to take your pets, especially if you're looking for a place that's reasonably priced, but still professional. I was having an issue with either every vet out there being ridiculously overpriced, or them being a complete cut-rate production; where quality was obviously sacrificed for lower prices, such as Well Pet in Pittsburg. Companion Pet Hospital is the perfect balance of reasonable rates and a professional atmosphere. Dr. Maloney is great with animals. You can tell he genuinely loves what he does. I took my Jack Russle mix to get spayed at this facility, a few weeks ago and everything went smoothly. She healed very nicely. Not to mention, Companion's fee for the surgery was several hundred dollars cheaper than what a few other local facilities wanted for the same exact procedure.I will now be taking my dogs here regularly. I highly recommend this facility and Dr. Maloney. Read Less

We found the office staff to be very nice and Dr. Maloney a great down to earth guy! While we've lived in Antioch for 16 years, we finally decided to stop driving to WC to see someone locally. Very happy we did. I *loved* my vet in WC (Wendy Angeus), but the drive and WC prices the clinic she works at was more than our wallet could spare. Dr Maloney has reasonable pricing and excellent care. I felt very comfortable at our dogs' first visit with him. This weekend one of our kitties will be seen for the first time - I'm sure he will be more nervous than me! Read Less

The doctor(vet) that sees my two dogs is very informative and accommodating. He showed me how to express my one dog and really explained not just to mechanics of it but the biology too. They've always taken really excellent care of my buddies. Two reasons why I didn't rate 5-star (even though I'd recommend this vet to anyone) 1. When they send out the immunization reminders, they always get to my house at least 2-4weeks after the shots have expired. My preference would be to keep them up-to-date and not wait until it's nearly too late to try to make an appointment. 2. Since I think there's only one vet/dr. at this location, it's been a challenge for my husband and I to try to schedule last minute visits (my one dog had a splinter in his pad and I couldn't get in soon enough, my other dog needed to be expressed and I couldn't get in soon enough, etc.). Just things to be aware of. Again, overall: really great, caring vet for your babiesRead Less

About a year ago I took my cat Oreo to Banfield to get some bumps checked out that were of concern to me. When I went, they told me to come back in a few weeks to see if they got any bigger. They then proceeded to try and get me to purchase a lot of unnecessary medication like something to control his weight (my cat was a little chunkie but I loved it. Plus he was a Maine coone). When I got home something just didn't feel right about the visit. I then started to research vets in the area and this one came up with the highest rating, only the best for my baby! I made an appointment right away. When I came in with Oreo the staff was wonderful as was the vet. I could tell everyone was very caring. The vet looked at Oreo's bumps and gave it to me straight that he was concerned that they were tumors. I was shocked. Why wouldn't Banfield inform me of that?! I was enraged. We then took correct course of action, but by then it was too late. My Oreo passed away but this vet did all he could to help him and most importantly stayed honest with me every step of the way. I will never trust my animals with any place other than here! Read Less

We reluctantly needed to find a new veterinarian when our's transferred far away to a new clinic. Based on online reviews, we trusted we would be satisfied with a visit to Companion Pet Hospital to see Dr. Maloney. It turns out there is good reason for any wait between calling and getting an appointment, and if the hospital had not currently been accepting new patients, it would still have been well worth calling back at another time to get into their service. Their hours are generous and the practices and prices harken back to when veterinarians were not in the "glam and fad health care" industry, a most welcome discovery.I am a stickler for needing a vet that has great diagnostic skills, full services (x-ray, surgery, etc.) and the ability to really integrate medical information with practical application. Very fortunately, that is exactly what I found. Dr. Maloney has an encyclopedic knowledge of companion animal medicine, consults and interprets complex medical data fluently, and made my jaw drop open a number of times with his grasp of what I can only call "practical and rational intuitional observation." He also has a rare extra level of knowledge about performance dogs that gives him added insight into physical structure, movement, nutrition and disease systems.I was invited to participate in the exam process, taught what I needed to know, and given the tools and medicines we needed to correct our dog's problem. Of course, we appreciate the friendly, skilled and efficient staff and Dr. Maloney's deft handling of our pet. But I was most impressed that they go even farther beyond that to also deliver medical care of the highest level. And that is why we are very pleased to transfer our pets' care here, and very grateful to have found someone with 20 years' experience in this area who also has very obviously satisfied clients, us included. My initial visit to Companion Pet Hospital over four years ago was soley based of the location (a block from my previous address) but it took only one visit to solidify my business for a lifetime. Dr. Maloney and his office staff treat our family pets with the same love, tenderness, and enthusiasm as if my darlings were their own and every question and/or concern I have is answered immediately whether I ask in office or over the phone. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Dr. Maloney and his office to anyone in need of quality veterinarian. Read Less
