I was really happy with them but started to notice that they would slip extra charges in on the bill. My bill was suppose to be $170 something and they handed me a bill for over $500. Did anyone else notice that they will do everything in room with you but and your pet but then when it's time for their shots they take them somewhere. Is that normal? Last week my Guniea Pig became very ill, I called around to a couple vets, but am so thankful and very happy with the service Ark provided. I called right when they opened, they were able to see me same day. Took my Lil guy in, the vet techs n veterinarian were very nice, told me my options and I made the decision to put him down after being told he had a 20% chance of making it. They lite a candle at the reception desk every time an animal is put down, it was nice to come out n see that after making the decision of putting him down.  A week later I got a card in the mail personally signed by each tech n veterinarian there with a lil note by each one, along with a postcard with his name n paw prints on it.. I highly recommend this pet hospital for ur pets needs, pricing is very reasonable as well. Read Less

BEWARE !!! BEWARE!!!BEWARE!!!BEEARE!!!BEWARE!!!My neighbor took his perfectly healthy 2 year old dog into this slaughterhouse to be fixed. Came home sickly and died after being in their care for a routine surgery. The lady on the phone said she died because of the surgery. She had 0 issues and now the family is being ignored when asking questions about their lost family member. Shame on you ark! If you love your animals don't bring them here! Read Less

Dr. Schlange and his staff are absolutely amazing!!!  We took our ailing dog here after receiving the run around from several other vets who failed to  diagnosis his very serious illness. Dr. Schalnge took the time needed to communicate both the medical issues and our options quite clearly, and was very supportive and reassuring when we made the difficult decision to euthanize Ice.  We were treated with sensitivity throughout the process and given all the time we needed to say our good-byes.  The euthanizing itself, although difficult to be part of, was done with extreme care and compassion. I know Ice felt no pain and died with dignity and peace, and I'm glad that my family and I chose to stay in the room to witness his passing.  I hope no one who reads this has to go through this painful process, but, if you do, I hope you - and your animal companion - are treated as well as we were. We've have been taking animals to the Ark Pet Hospital since 2003. Dr. Hageman and the staff at Ark are amazing, kind, compassionate, and very supportive. When our beagle had two cruciate ruptures in one year, she helped us through the decisions regarding treatment options - surgery for one of the ruptures, a brace for the other. When it came time to say good-bye to our old guy, they couldn't have been kinder and more gentle with him (and with our hearts). My name is Kity Kat, and my people Claudia and David happened upon this place because where Claudia has taken all her other cats in the past would not even make a quick exam to ease her mind.You see I had a stuffy nose and having lost her 3 other cats in the past had Claudia very worried.Even thought she urge the people at Banfield the urgency, they told her they could not squeeze me in just to make sure it was not life threatening. Dr. Hageman is a breeder-friendly vet.  Her techs are friendly and competent.  I took my girl in for hip & elbow x-rays on the recommendation of a friend. They were able to do the x-rays without anesthesia and still did very good positioning for OFA evaluation.  The prices are very reasonable in comparison to other vet clinics offering this particular service and ARK is much closer than where I used to go in Santa Rosa for these types of x-rays. Love the service and quality of care. However do NOT go there unless you have plenty of cash to spare they are very, very expensive compared to many other vets. We go there anyway because they have saved my girls life and they are right around the corner from my house. My senior dog doesn't travel in cars well, so we just stick with these guys cause they are close and they know what they are doing. We have never been treated poorly or rudely there. Read Less

Tina at the front desk put me at ease I came in after my Pitt border collie mix got into some kind of toxin! The guy at the front desk totally ignored the fact that I was balling my eyes out he ignored me and answered the phones!!! as I cried frantically another lady JEN! acknowledged me took down my doggies symptoms (as I have never been there before) I was a walk in Emegency and they don't do walk ins! Tina and the other girl took wonderful care of me!!!!!! Helped me calm down.. Gave me her own stories of her fur babies (Tina) . And Jen kept updating me on my baby which really helped ... I've been going to this vet for almost 10 years, if not longer. Dr. Hagamen provided care for my Boxer and my English Bulldog and few cats of mine. The staff there is amazing and so friendly. Dr. Merill is great to work woth too. I lived in Livermore for a short while and would drive from Livermore to Antioch to take my animals there, that's how much I appreciate ARK Pet Hospital. I had been a long time client of another clinic. When I found out Dr. Schlange had started working at ARK, I transferred my business there. He did everything he could to help my senior dog when she started having health problems and was so kind and understanding, as was the office staff, during her difficulties and when it came time to put her down. I took my sweet kitten in to get fixed & I have to say, he was taken care of exactly how I imagined he would be. This is the first time Dr. Lori met my Blaze but she made me feel so comfortable with leaving him in her hands. I wouldn't want to have any other vet care for my baby! He came home happy and with little signs of having surgery! I even got a follow up call today from the staff to make sure he is doing well! What really touched me is that they asked the same questions my doctor would ask about how I was feeling after surgery and assured me if I had any questions or concerns to call them right away! Took my Dog here a few years back, they said they didn't know what was wrong with him, they demanded $800 dollars to find out, 30 minutes later they called me saying my dog died! Dr. Hageman and her staff are great. They are compassionate, professional, and willing to go the extra mile for our animals. They always make time for our cat and/or dog ... even at the last minute. Recently, Dr. Hageman stayed late on two occasions to help our cat with his digestive issues. Her facility is always very clean and organized.
