Very good price for neutering but my dog left there very stressed out and ended up getting an infection. Their hours are very limited so when we came home and found my dog with an infection, they were closed and I had to take him to our regular vet who had to do a lot of testing and then put him on medication. Now he is great. So I feel like having feral or wild animals fixed there is a good idea I am contemplating on whether or not to have my other dog neutered there. They were not very accommodating when it came to having an emergency nor were they very acommentating on taking any Debit cards as payment. If you work and have an emergency that you find when getting home (2pm on a Friday) you will find yourself in a bad spot. Read Less

I have taken all of my pets here to be spayed & neutered along with their puppy innoculations, heartworm tests & preventatives. They are priced so reasonably & are so sweet & wonderful with my pets!! They are at least 1/3 the cost of my regular vet because they are a non-profit clinic! I go to my regular vet but for all of their other services, but for routine spay, neuter & innoculations I go here. The prices just can't be compared and they are simply wonderful !! Read Less

Last May we found 4 new born kittens on board my boat with the mother no where to be found.  Even though we have 3 dogs and 2 cats already there was no way we could leave them to starve or worse.  So at 3 a.m. we were at LOOMIS BASIN VETERNARY CLINIC WHICH I CONSIDER A 5 STAR CLINIC picking up kittien formula and getting information . Later that month we called Auburn Spay and Neuter because they claimed to provide FREE spay and neutering for those who foster kittens , they claimed grant money allowed them to provide this service. Today I recieved a call confirming their thursday appointment and then I'm told that the charges would be $40.00 per not including vacinations. I was told the reason was that the grant money ran out . I want to make it clear that i confirmed what my out of pocket expense would be at the time i made the appointment so I could budget any additional costs.Our family was proud and happy to provide FOSTER CARE for these adorible kittens but new born formula isn't cheap. We tried to do the corect and responsable thing by fixing the kittens and we believed AUBURN S&N  was using the the grant money to do the same. Given the recent developments I seriosly doubt this is the case becuse they booked the appointment based on the foster care status and had I not confirmed the financials there would have been a major problem when we picked up the kittens and if they had tried to keep the kittens for ransom there would have been Hell to pay. Bottom line is that whomever was kind enough to provide this grant money should consider demanding an audit before handing over any more funds.I have always been suspicious of this place and given the other reviews and now my OWN experiance not only do I highly recomend avoiding the bussiness like the black death but I belive a full investigation by the proper authorities is warranted. I am only giving a review on the initial phone call, didn't go any farther than that. My husband called to make an appointment for our cat. He just felt so uneasy about the conversation he had with whoever answered the phone that we did not feel comfortable with her in their care. She was very rude and abrupt... My husband made the comment "I don't think she likes cats and I don't want her hurting her". So after reading some previous reviews, I guess they don't like dogs OR cats.... hmmm.... 5 Stars for affordable care though!I'll be sticking with Auburn Medical Center in Auburn. 5 Stars all the way for them! This is the worse place ever!!My poor dog was neutered here and he came back a whole different dog afraid of people. My dog was very friendly/happy and after his surgery he did a U turn on life and now spends his days hiding in a closet. Its been 2 years and till this day after his surgery i have not been able to touch my dogs legs because he gets frightened like I'm going to hurt him. We can never take him to the groomer which he used to love because he cries bloody murder like someone is going to hurt him. Even his vet noticed he came back a different traumatized dog. If you love your pet don't go anywhere near this place. If i had any tiny bit of evidence that they hurt my dog i would have this place shut down in a heartbeat, but thats just wishful thinking. I give them 2 stars because they did do what I brought my cat there for. He was neutered. However they had a flyer for free spay and neuter for 8-16 weeks with nothing about weight. I get there the day of my appointment and they tell me he weighs too much and I will have to pay irritated but fine it's 30$. However I knew his exact birth date because I was around and got him from a friend. I tried to make an appointment 3 weeks earlier when he was 9 weeks old and they told me to call back in about a month because they wanted to make sure he was big enough and then they charge me because of something they said to do. The thing that irritated me more than all of that was that I looked at his neuter certificate when we got home and they changed his birthdate to 2 months before he was born. Because he weighed .6 lbs more than the weight they required they decided it was okay to claim he was 2 months older than he is so now his certificate for being neutered matches none of his other records. This place is awful. Don't take your pets here if you care about them. The vet. is rude and does.not like dogs. I was told this by a former employee who warned me to not go here. She is always rude and rough with my dog AND everytime she has trimmed his nails she makes him bleed. Twice is enough for me. Plus they insisted on muzzling him despite the fact he has never bit anyone. Take your dog to PetSmart where they will grind nails for $14. I hate this place and have filed a complaint with the American Veterinary Medical Association. I now go to Animal Medical Center where all the staff are friendly, including the vets. I was always very happy with this facility. $5 office visit, includes weighing your animal. I truly had a bad experience with VIP, they are VERY expensive, long lines, no seats, medicines are $20-30 more, and no chance to weigh your large puppy to know how much to feed it and get the right dosage for meds. This facility offers everything you need at a low cost. However, you may need a bit of patience and wait your turn to be taken care of. I appreciate this place and its staff. Read Less

The ladies working the front desk were very efficient and helpful. The back of the house workers were very skilled with the animals, as well. Everyone was friendly and genuine. IF YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR DOG, DON'T TAKE THEM TO THIS CLINIC! We recently took our one year old German Sheppard into this clinic to have her spayed. When we went into the exam room with her, the Vet seemed very timid (almost scared) of her. Instead of trying to connect with the dog, she insisted on placing a muzzle on her (which was a new experience for both of us). The vet decided against giving her oral sedation, and finally took our dog away. About two hours later, we got a call from the clinic, saying that they were unable to perform the surgery because our dog had oxygen level problems under sedation, and that we needed to take our healthy dog to a regular Veterinarian for the surgery. I think that the clinic over sedated our dog (which is lying at my feet as I write this), and were afraid to continue when they realized that they had given her too much sedation. With the exception of one young employee This group of wemon were very unpleasant and unhelpful to both my wife in the morning and myself in the evening when we took our dog in for spaying. After talking with them on the phone when trying to make an appointment, I was hesitant to take my puppy to Yuba City for neutering even though the cost was included in his rescue fee. The people here at Bradshaw were so friendly, patient and courteous from the time I called (and I called a couple of times when forgetting to ask certain questions) to the time I picked my puppy up. They are like a well oiled machine - professional and caring. Highly recommend - their prices are very reasonable and I felt my lil guy was in good hands. I got my dad's dog fixed there today and the actual neutering went fine, he's doing OK and the people were nice enough. Get him home and there's spots of blood all over the carpet. Check his nuts and there's no blood at all. Then I read over the paperwork and see a "toenail trim" check his paw and they cut the nail so short his whole paw is covered in blood :( didn't ask for a toenail trim and now my baby is even more hurt.. The staff is plain rude except for Audrey!!! They treat the client as if they are a child who knows nothing. I appreciate what they are doing but you shouldn't have to feel completely degraded. I am a foster mom to dogs and I feel as if I am doing my part but to be treated like a complete idiot is uncalled for. I asked who is in charge turns out the lady who does the intake of animals is and she was the one degrading many clients. It's completely wrong. They also need a sign in system or pull numbers because it's complete utter chaos and since there are 2 waiting rooms many people are cut off or are not waited on in the order they arrive. As a foster dog parent I spend money out of my pocket to do the job others didn't do and to be treated this way is WRONG!! I feel sad that many people have to suffer through this treatment not only that HOW ARE we suppose to feel comfortable leaving our babies in the hands of a mean and nasty person. Read Less

Animal Spay & Neuter is a fantastic, low cost clinic for getting your animals fixed. Although the time restraints of when to pickup / drop off are not very flexible, I think it is so worth it to get my dogs fixed here because the staff is phenomenal, and it is 3 x cheaper than most places. When I took my first dog here, they even gave her special treatment and held her most of the day instead of leaving her in her crate because she was whining. They were so good to her! And they gave her a stuffed animal to lay with...I really trusted them with my pup, and now I will be taking my next dog to them as well! Read Less

I have a friend who had 3 pets spayed here without a hitch. My daughter & her husband took their labradoodle for neutering and it was a disaster. The stitches opened when they got him home and he had to be rushed to local ER the following morning. AS&N issued Motrin as a pain killer that had no affect on pain. The dog ended up on antibiotics and Tramadol. There is no follow up here, it is strictly spay or neuter and send em out the door. If your pet is like your child, suggest you spend the extra money on your own veterinarian. The money they saved on services here ended up costing twice as much had they taken him to their normal vet.Read Less

This is a wonderful place. I have had 3 dogs treated by them. They provide very low cost services to help you take care of your pet. Yes they are busy because of the low cost and great job they do. The Auburn Veterinarian is very experienced, kind, loving  and caring. She is Magnificent! I have talked to allot of other people who were waiting at the Clinic and they only had praise for the Vet, Staff and Clinic. I highly recommend them. :) :) :)Please be patient with the staff. This clinic exceeded my every expectation. Being low on funds, I was very hesistant to send my beloved puppy to anyone except for his very expensive veterinarian. From the very first phone call, the woman on the phone walked me through each step of the process from start to finish, understanding that I was a worried and new puppy owner.  She even told me that they make sure every puppy wakes up from operation in someone arms which really calmed my nerves. My dog ( a 5 lb. Yorkie/Chihuahua mix) was neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and had three teeth pulled all in one quick operation for $180. He looked comfortable as I was leaving, and I knew he was in great animal loving hands. The clinic even called me right after his operation to let me know everything went fine and I could pick him up at 4. I had a quick conversation with the vet upon picking up my dog, given some pain medication and instructions for the next day, and we were ready to go home. My dog was absolutely fine the next day and was back to his normal puppy self within 3 days. What really impressed me and prompted me to write this review, was the caring nature of the staff. I gave them a list of medications that my dog can't have because my dog may have MDR1 sensitivity. The woman told me they deal with dogs all the time and don't need it, then they still gave my dog some of the medications on the list. If my dog had a seizure it would have been due to their negligence. They have the wrong address on their website for the Sacramento location, but they don't give you the address during the appointment scheduling call or during the appointment reminder call.  If you've never been here before, how are you supposed to know that it's the wrong address listed on their website if they don't tell you? They take CASH ONLY and this isn't made known on the website, isn't told to you while you make the appointment, and isn't made known during the appointment reminder call. I had to find out that they were cash-only the day I dropped my dog off. This ended up costing me the same amount as going to a standard vet, with far less quality service. Read Less

This is for Sacramento location. Made an appt. to have my 5 month old kitten neutered. Was told to bring him in by 7:30 am so I'm thinking they do the surgery in the morning, my kitten is sleeping off the anesthesia for a few hours then I pick him up. Not so. I was called to pick him up at 3:00 pm. I arrived just before 3 and the tech said he isn't ready yet. They just did the surgery at 2 and she doesn't want to send him home yet. I was disgusted to find out out he was in his small carrier from 7am-2pm when they finally did the surgery. 7 hours in a carrier...that is cruel! It was unnecessary to bring him at 7:30. This low coast clinic is filled with caring and knowledgably people who love what they do and care for your pets.  You can have vaccinations done, spay and neuter services as well as overall health checks and ear mite solutions.  The clinic is not one of your fancy looking vet hospitals, but the people know what they are doing.  This business is operated out of a large modular building, there will be a line in the mornings, but the check in system is fast.  You have to pay with cash when you pick your pet up; but for the discount in overall cost for services performed, it is totally worth it!  You can be a responsible pet owner without having to break the bank.  The check-out procedure is also fast and the doctor takes the time to explain to you the services performed and goes over any post-surgery to-do's and explains any concerns.  I highly recommend this clinic for both your cat and dog vet needs. Run far away. This place is disgusting and the staff if horribly rude. I took my min pin in to get shots and yes I know he is mean. (bit by a rattlesnake threw the eye as a pup and doesn't trust anyone) anyways they muzzled him which was fine. The lady grabbed him from me held him down did the shot then dropped him on the floor. He was so scared he flopped on the floor like he was having a seizure. They didn't even apologize for dropping him. then as he is flopping around she takes the muzzle off. I was treated like absolute crap when I called to inquire some information today. First time I was rudely interrupted by a big "HELLOOO?!" And a Hang up. So calling back I had a not so excited receptionist answer in a monotone voice. My dog is older and a rescue so I cannot get her fixed here I have to go to a vet. Well ya I know that now after the rude receptionist told me she would have to see a specialist. When I asked her for that number since she said she would have to refer me to one, she tells me "ya go grab the yellow pages and look up vet".. I hung up on her. if you would have said a VET instead of confusing me by saying specialist I clearly wouldn't have asked. If I had asked her name I would go and speak to her manager that's how offended I STILL feel by all her rude snub remarks and attitude in her voice..she was sarcastic, clearly wasn't excited about her job and flat out rude. I am so glad I can't take my dog there because I wouldn't want rude people to be around her in a vulnerable place like getting fixed. She's had a hard life and I keep her away from negativity for a reason. May be cheap to take your pet here but if the receptionist is a complete nightmare it makes me nervous what the rest of the employees are like. She's you're front lining team guys... We just had our little male Shi Tszu neutered here and we were very pleased with the entire experience!  Even though they were extremely busy and we had to wait for abit but when it was our turn, the nurse and doctor were very nice, answered all ofOur questions and were kind and gentle with  our little Peanut!  We came home with meds and complete instructions forhis post operative care!  For a retired couple with limited income, this was affordable for us, and we are very pleased with his care! Shame on them for bullying people into services they don't want or need. I won't be recommending them. I've had well over 100 foster dogs that I have evaluated and pulled from the shelter myself, and fostered 100's of kittens. Don't tell me lies just to serve your agenda. If I wanted heart worm services I would have asked for them. My dog is under 3years and was on heartworm a year ago. Even IF she had worms they wouldnt any danger to her at this time (also due to her environment she would be low risk), its not your job to tell me what i want. Plus this lottery system is insane and sets the clinic up to treat the customers like garbage. I'm sure they bully people with vaccines too. We told them our chihuahua had been in heat and possible pregnant, they quoted us a price and once it was all done, the price was now $20 more. They said it was because she was in heat. I don't know how I feel about this place.I ended up with three kittens on my desk at work, and in good conscience couldnt give them away without neutering them. I came across this place and it was very affordable...only 15 bucks for a kitten neuter!  You can't beat that! The ladies I spoke to to set up the appt were very nice and helpful. We set up the appt for a week and a half later.  They aren't open on the weekends which is nearly impossible for us 8-5ers to figure out how to get them up there...luckily I convinced my bf to take them. There was a miscommunication between my bf and I but I'm not holding that against them. What was really off putting was the guilt trip and subsequent pushiness of getting them vaccinated while they were there. Don't get me wrong I know how important that is, and honestly could've just gone to the feed store and given them their shots myself. Since I'm fostering them and didn't want to spend a ton of money on them, I wanted to double check with the potential homes first. On multiple occasions they told me they were gonna come back sick if they don't have shots, probably already have ear mites and all have URI. Keep in mind they were perfectly healthy. When my bf dropped them off, they pressured him into doing shots and a bunch of other stuff we didn't want.  They also did the same thing to the people in front of him. After multiple times he told them no, and finally left. He left a frantic message with me saying it sounds like they won't neuter unless they have shots there.I called and got the same shpeal about how it's not fare to give sick kittens to unsuspecting homes yadda yadda yadda (keep in mind they are healthy). She continued to go on before I stopped her and explained I used to be a vet tech and I understand, I'll take care of it.I'd probably recommend others to go there because they are so affordable!!! And all the people I talk to that have intact animals always use the excuse it's too expensive, no more excuses people! Just be prepared for a vaccination guilt trip. Read Less
