This vet is absolutely horrible. I took my cat there on Monday, and it was a horrible experience. The staff (techs) are very poorly trained. One of them didn't know how to handle a cat and picked him up wrong, then screamed and cussed when his claws came out because he was terrified. Then to make matters worse the vet drops (literally drops) my cat with his injured leg onto the floor and says "I want to see him walk". After all of that he quoted me almost $700 just for the X-rays to figure out what was causing the limp. He also said that my cat was "dehydrated". I refused their service and its a good thing I did, my cat left feeling worse than before we took him. Took him to Stine Vet today and had the total opposite experience (for less than half the cost), also my cat is not at all Dehydrated, probably just a way for 4 Paws to get more money from me by administering an IV. Anyways, if you are looking for a good and honest vet DO NOT COME TO 4 PAWS. I highly recommend Stine Vet. Read Less

DO NOT TAKE YOUR FUR BABY HERE. I SEE WHY THIS VET'S LICENSE WAS SUSPENDED A FEW MONTHS AGO. My dog was here for boarding and they informed me that she had a dental infection and in order to treat- they needed to do blood work. My dog is a15 year old shih-tzu that i trusted in their hands. I overheard yelling and crying and howling and asked if that was my dog. The receptionist went to go check on my dog and brought her back out with BANDAGES ON ALL 4 LEGS!!!!!! They said she had no blood and they couldn't find a vein. WELL, THEY DIDN'T EVEN SHAVE HER LEG TO TRY AND FIND A VEIN!!!!! INSTEAD THEY POKED HER 4 TIMES ON EACH LEG. And they tried to charge like $100+, bullshit - they didn't even get any blood. For the full treatment they estimated $400. My other dog had surgery for that price at Dr. Cooke's. Do yourself and your doggie a favor and go to Bakersfield Vet Hospital. Read Less

NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!! DO NOT GO HERE!I brought two dogs to get spayed and neutered and both came back in worse condition. I had more vet bills because of this vet not doing their job right. My male had an infection and hematoma and my female's incision split open and i had to go to ER so they can staple her up. THIS PLACE ONLY CARES ABOUT THE MONEY!! The staff weren't professional and Dr/Vet was rude and didn't even come out to talk till very end (5 days later) My wife took our dog here hoping to start a relationship that would last & later include our other 3 dogs but that wasn't what she got. She'll explain it from here.... I called to find out how much an office visit was and was told $35. I explained to the receptionist what was wrong and how long etc and she came back in with the Dr/Vet he looked at her , asked how old she was and put his hand on her back and said huh,fat. I started telling him what was going on and was cut off . They both walked out of the room , receptionist came back in to say he would like to run some tests and I was thinking oh good. But No.. it wasn't good.... The1st bill $150 which always MUST be paid prior to service. No xrays or anything else. She had blood work. and thermometer ..I didn't get test results I had to ask for them and the receptionist was the one who gave them to me. I spent $500 for 1 nights stay, .with an IV with vitamins ( They say they want to keep them there to watch more closely and make sure their ok. but reality is on Sat. they leave at 12 noon and maybe someone will come in a few hrs to ck in on them. and Sunday I was told they have someone ck in on them once or twice. (How is that better than a caring owner watching after their pet. After keeping my dog over nite the next day I can pick her up and they send me home with appx a bottle w/1 inch of antibiotics and told me to put her on kd diet. and pediolyte. (knowing she hadn't & still wasn't eating) Then when my dog is in her final hrs all they wanted was more money.. I was told we can put her to sleep and u can take her home in a bag & bury her in backyard. That was just CRUDE I said I wanted cremate her and their billing mgr came to explain to me that $190 was already discounted $60 they'd cremate her but she wouldn't be returned to me for that price and they couldnt take the loss since I didn't have more money. I left thinking If I hadn't gone to these money hungry, non caring group of jerks my dog might be alive today. Yes she did have kidney failure, but from what? I'll never know and yes she was an elder dog but that doesnt mean automatically it's over. The vet hospital that I took her to to put her to sleep charged me 1/2 of what 4 paws wanted and were genuinely more caring and told me more about her in 15 mins of examination.. I'll always blame myself and wonder. But it will Never happen again to me & hopefully my experience has forwarned you... If you love your pets don't take them to 4 paws. Read Less

Found a cat outside my house, that was badly hurt. Huge tear in his back, could see muscles and it smelled like rotten flesh. Wasn't sure what to do. I called this Vet because they are closest to my house. They said Bring him in. I told them the cat is not mine and I don't have much money. They took him out and said it was going to be $826 to fix him. I told them again he's not mine, Just a stray and I don't want to watch the poor guy suffer. They told me $100 to have him put to sleep. Again he's not mine. Just put this poor guy out of his misery. The actual vet came out and said all this stuff he can do. I just wanted to leave. They charged me $28 just for showing up and the Vet pointing their finger. I just paid because I figured they would send me to collections over it. Obviously all this place cares about is money and not the wellfare of animals. It's very sad how a place for animals can not care about them. I understand that nobody wants to work for free but come on, seriously? I took him to the SPCA and they said thanks for bringing him, we will put him down. That was the end of it. Should have gone their first. A place that actually cares about animals. 4 Paws Pet Hospital just seems like they only care about money and not the actually animals. Read Less

The staff is rude and unsettling, they over charged me by 54 dollars and had to drive back 3 times to get the matter corrected. Then they ended up not returning me card at one of the visits that i had to report lost or stolen or drive there a fourth time. Worst experience i ever had with any small business! Cant say enough good things about this place. Took my adult dog there because he was shaking furiously. Doctor knew the problem immediately and gave him pain meds and muscle relaxers for lower back pain. Problem solved. Took 2 puppies in for parvo both survived. One spent overnight the other 2 days. Both are making a full recovery. I must have called and bothered the vet techs 10 times about how the dogs were doing and they were always extrenely helpful. So whoever is posting on here that this vet doesnt care you must be smoking something... i even got a personal number if i had any questions about what to do with my puppies.. pretty sure they care about your dogs if they do that. I got replies from them late at night. Cant say enough about the service. Reasonably priced. Now as for the doctor. He knows his stuff. He isnt rude but he just does his job and leaves. If u want someone to coddle you and tell you everything is going to be ok you probably have the wrong doctor. He will tell u whats wrong tell you how to fix it and magically ur dog is better. I think id rather go to this doctor than someone that will tell me everythings gonna be ok then my dog becomes worse. Overall id give this vet a 10 out of 5 if i could but this will suffice. I had a less than good experience at another pet hospital here in town.  A friend of mine recommended the 4 paws pet hospital with doctor Sandhu.  I have nothing but good things to say and praise for Dr. Sandhu and his staff.  One of my 2 dogs got very sick last week.  My dog progressively kept getting worse.  I took my dog to Dr Sandhu's and was seen right away.  Dr Sandhu was polite, professional, and honest.  He ran a quick parvo test (which was negative), examined my dog.  Dr Sandhu explained what treatments he felt needed to be done, which included for my dog to kept over night.  The cost would be $400 total, which included the initial exam.  Money being tight in this economy, I took my dog home to discuss with my girlfriend our options.  The staff were polite when I decided to talk over with my girlfriend and take my dog home. They printed up a price quote for the treatments, should we decide to have my dog treated there overnight.The next day, my girlfriend took my dog back to Dr. Sandhu's and was left there for treatments overnight.  When we picked up our dog the following, she was back to here old self.  I was surprised how quickly she got better.  I will always take my pets and recommend to friends, to go to Dr Sandhu at 4 Paws Pet hospital. My kitten fell and got a concussion on a Saturday afternoon. I called Dr. Mukand and he said he would go to his office. He answered all my questions and was really friendly and calm. I admit I was a little bit of a wreck because I was so worried but he was reassuring. My kitten is doing fine now. He gave him some medication and all is well.
