I have been a client of Coffee Road Animal Hospital for 14 years with 3 different pets. Up until recently the service was good, but about 2 weeks ago I was there to pick up my pets prescription and voiced my concern and frustration about still having to stand out in the heat ( it was 103 degrees that day) and not being able to come inside the building. I received a call from Joanne (practice manager) the next day, stating that the staff at Coffee road feels they can no longer please me and it would be best if I no longer bring my pets there for service. Really!! After 14 years! This was unprofessional and untrue. The doctors have been great, especially Dr Hammans ( he is usually who we see). Unfortunately over the last couple years there has been a decline in the customer service by the front desk staff.
My concern is Coffee road is still having clients and pets line up outside in this intensense heat, even today June 17th. The news has been warning pet owners to keep your pets off the pavement during this heat wave, yet you have to walk your pet on the asphalt in the heat before you get to the white tent on the side of the building. This is certainly not in the best interest of the client or pet.

I’m extremely disappointed with this vet I keep giving them a try hoping things would get better but they don’t. This place is here just to make profit not to help and heal our fur babies. The staff is always so rude and so disrespectful. Do not buy prescriptions here they over charge you! It’s also extremely expensive. It’s extremely suspicious that how much they charge for things that at in other vets can cost less than half the price they charge here. The vets don’t even try to treat your animal as an individual. Please whatever you do do not bring your dogs here.

We took over ownership of the cat next door when the family just up and moved away. She was skittish, but once we got home and gave her a ton of love and attention. It's now 5 years later and we are joining my husband's family on a cruise. Our kitty, Misty, came home frightened by anything that resembled a long purse handle. She litterly tried to hide behind the couch and clumps of hair were floating all over the place. I am positive that the women in the first house terrorized the cat and we still see some of the "nervouseness" she exhibits 5 years later.
When I went to pick Misty up, she was lying scrunched up in her litter box, hissing and trying to make herself look smaller. She shivered the entire trip home and then sat in my lap for the remainder of the trip.
I am pissed off with the Coffee Road Animal Shelter for their treatment of my cat. I won't go back AT ALL!!!

To be honest, I ended up at Coffee Road Animal Hospital because they were the first facility able to see my German Shepherd puppy. Now that I've experienced their care, professionalism and love for animals, I won't go anywhere else. The doctors and staff are so friendly and understand what we, as pet owners, are going through! Thank goodness my "shot in the dark" search for a veterinarian led me to Coffee Road Animal Hospital!

I have been taking our pets to Coffee Road Animal Hospital for the last 20 years. They have been with us with new pets and with us as we have had to say goodbye. They always show compassion and professionalism. Had it not been for the vets doing a comprehensive exam, we would not have know that our Oliver has an autoimmune bleeding disorder which was successfully treated with maintenance meds. They answer our questions completely and patiently. They provide options which allows us to make be best choices in care and cost. I will continue to recommend them as the best veterinarian clinic in Bakersfield.

Horrible, I took my purebred bloodhounds in for boarding in December when I picked up my dogs I was never given a report of the check up, fast forward to June I take both bloodhounds in for boarding and shots again this time the receptionist hands me my report from December where it states my hounds in their ears...no one ever told me this or I would have treated them in DECEMBER. While in the office today Stephanie Paine (vet who looked at my dog) wanted to argue with me the fact that the paperwork was never given to me. I was trying to explain had I had been given the paperwork in December my poor bloodhounds ears would not be over ran with yeast ( and yes I clean their ears daily and the correct way) What I'm getting at is your CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS! I will be going back to good ol Doctor Willis, only reason I went to Coffee Road is because I needed to board and San Joaquin Vet was full.....BIG MISTAKE...should have just stayed with the doc that has taken such good care of my babies.

We have been very happy with Coffee Road Animal Hospital!! They have taken very good care of our animals and wouldn't going any where else! We have a Great Pyrenees and a small dog and have always have a very good experience. Our small dog became very sick and I rushed her to Coffee Road Vet and they rushed her to the back and took very good care of her. They found that she was diabetic and got her regulated and she is one happy dog who we thought we were going to lose that day!!
We would highly recommend Coffee Road Animal Hospital!!!

I have been going to This Veterinary Hospital for years and when I had to put my cat (my fur baby of 20 years) to sleep due to cancer, they were very sensitive to the situation and very comforting. I could tell how much each of the staff really cared for me, my fiancé, and our fur baby through breaking the news, medications, as well as the euthanasia process itself. Now with our two new fur babies they are just as caring and amazing to work with every visit. I couldn't be happier.

I have been using Dr. Hammond's clinic since he first opened when the office was close to Frughatti's on Coffee Road. It must have been in late 1980's. I had wonderful support and service from this staff. I moved with him to the current location. They have administered care for multiple dogs of ours, form puppies, to showing us extreme concern and kindness through the later years of our dogs lives. He has repaired ACL's and hip joints,and oral problems that required surgery. The clinic, as well as the boarding facility are amazing. The staff is exceptional, knowledgeable, courteous, and kind. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of animal care.

We were pleased with the Pet Resort & our dogs were well cared for. Dr. Mischke (recently nominated, again, for Best of Kern Veterinarian) has been kind, caring, and helpful. We highly recommend Coffee Road Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.

I have been taking our pets to Coffee Road Animal Hospital for the last 20 years. They have been with us with new pets and with us as we have had to say goodbye. They always show compassion and professionalism. Had it not been for the vets doing a comprehensive exam, we would not have know that our Oliver has an autoimmune bleeding disorder which was successfully treated with maintenance meds. They answer our questions completely and patiently. They provide options which allows us to make be best choices in care and cost. I will continue to recommend them as the best veterinarian clinic in Bakersfield.

We had to put our sweet Ragdoll cat to sleep yesterday.He was almost 19 and he has been under their care for all but the first year of his life. They have taken care of all of our animals in the past and they were so caring and kind during this hard time. The staff always has been that way. I would recommend them to anyone. We thank them from the bottom of our hearts for the quality of care they gave to Milo <3

Horrible, I took my purebred bloodhounds in for boarding in December when I picked up my dogs I was never given a report of the check up, fast forward to June I take both bloodhounds in for boarding and shots again this time the receptionist hands me my report from December where it states my hounds in their ears...no one ever told me this or I would have treated them in DECEMBER. While in the office today Stephanie Paine (vet who looked at my dog) wanted to argue with me the fact that the paperwork was never given to me. I was trying to explain had I had been given the paperwork in December my poor bloodhounds ears would not be over ran with yeast ( and yes I clean their ears daily and the correct way) What I'm getting at is your CUSTOMER SERVICE STINKS! I will be going back to good ol Doctor Willis, only reason I went to Coffee Road is because I needed to board and San Joaquin Vet was full.....BIG MISTAKE...should have just stayed with the doc that has taken such good care of my babies.

We have been very happy with Coffee Road Animal Hospital!! They have taken very good care of our animals and wouldn't going any where else! We have a Great Pyrenees and a small dog and have always have a very good experience. Our small dog became very sick and I rushed her to Coffee Road Vet and they rushed her to the back and took very good care of her. They found that she was diabetic and got her regulated and she is one happy dog who we thought we were going to lose that day!!
We would highly recommend Coffee Road Animal Hospital!!!

I live in the bay area but have been at my daughters with my five dogs. I have been to Dr. Paine with three of my dogs. She is a wonderful doctor and her staff have been very accommodating. I'm grateful to have such great care for my dogs when I'm not at home. Highly recommend Dr. Paine and her practice.

I have been going to This Veterinary Hospital for years and when I had to put my cat (my fur baby of 20 years) to sleep due to cancer, they were very sensitive to the situation and very comforting. I could tell how much each of the staff really cared for me, my fiancé, and our fur baby through breaking the news, medications, as well as the euthanasia process itself. Now with our two new fur babies they are just as caring and amazing to work with every visit. I couldn't be happier.

I have been using Dr. Hammond's clinic since he first opened when the office was close to Frughatti's on Coffee Road. It must have been in late 1980's. I had wonderful support and service from this staff. I moved with him to the current location. They have administered care for multiple dogs of ours, form puppies, to showing us extreme concern and kindness through the later years of our dogs lives. He has repaired ACL's and hip joints,and oral problems that required surgery. The clinic, as well as the boarding facility are amazing. The staff is exceptional, knowledgeable, courteous, and kind. I highly recommend them to anyone in need of animal care.

In leaving, one of the staff said "Sam was such a good boy" and we all like hearing good reports. That was special.

We've been using Coffe Road Animal Hospital & Pet Resort for more than 10 years with 3 pets and could not be happier with the the staff. We were pleased with the Pet Resort & our dogs were well cared for. Dr. Mischke (recently nominated, again, for Best of Kern Veterinarian) has been kind, caring, and helpful. We highly recommend Coffee Road Animal Hospital and Pet Resort.
