Dr Riddle and Dr Ohm are the best.  My girls are always treated well. Dr Riddle always does a very thorough exam and offers multiple options for a plan with my various stages of life girls. The staff are always very sweet and caring with them. My dogs are princesses and don't often do well but they are always easy to take here. I needed to get my dog to a vet. My dog swells up really bad from vaccines/shots. I knew he was due, so I called around to a few places asking if there was a way around giving him more shots (he's 9). I called Southampton and the lady I spoke with over the phone told me yes there was (a note from the vet that I keep) and to bring him in. So I brought him in. The vet came in and gave me some pretty bad news extremely casually. Then after I told her he has a bad reaction to shots, she gave them to him anyway! It was the whole reason I came there. They advertise Eastern medicine, but my dog didn't experience ANY what so ever. Also my bill was $200+?? We're young, my husband had JUST graduated, I'm in nursing school and we had just moved to the Bay Area. Call me crazy but that price is very steep for what was done. Also my dog had a very high fever when I brought him in. She asked ME if that was normal for him?! I'm still scratching my head over that question. So another vet we go. Read Less

The team at Southampton Pet Hospital has cared for my cats and a rabbit for more than 15 years using a combination of Western and Eastern medicine. The results from the acupuncture therapy used on two of my cats has been phenomenal; their medical problems were difficult to treat using Western techniques. Both cats handled the needle insertion very well and were quite relaxed during their sessions. The team is very honest about not guaranteeing success. When your pet is suffering and they believe acupuncture might work, it's definitely worth a try! I strongly recommend them. It's worth the drive to Benicia if you're out of the area. All reviews for this hospital should be titled "KNOW WHAT TO EXPECT."This hospital approaches pet health homeopathically first and traditionally second. First things first...if you don't know what this means, don't go there.  Second, expect to sign a waiver that releases the hospital of any liability should their treatment produce a negative result. If you are not comfortable with this...that's right...don't go there. We took our 2 year old pug here for an evaluation because she has had recurring urinary tract infections. We were tired of doping her up on antibiotics and no other vet seemed to have a reasonable approach to fixing the problem long term. We saw Dr. Riddle and she was extremely knowledgeable. In summary, we learned our pug's UTI problem could be related to food - a potentially simple and inexpensive treatment. This was good news considering another vet had gone so far as to tell us that we needed to have our pug's vulva trimmed for $2,000 (a procedure that NO other vet I have consulted has agreed with).The only reason I rated this hospital 4 stars instead of 5 is because their website and the appointment staff failed to mention the waiver you have to sign after your appointment. My husband and I were uncomfortable as a result and have since found another vet. Not because we are sue happy but because that wavier makes us doubt the credibility of their treatment approach. I have been to homeopathic people doctors and never had to sign any kind of waiver. Furthermore, they definitely should have told us about the waiver before we agreed to the somewhat expensive treatment (which amounted to a 2 hour consultation and some vitamins).So, now you should know what to expect before you go.
