Wow. Dr. Winters is amazing. My regular vet is on vacation and my little min pin is crazy itchy and has developed some lesions on her skin--- reoccurring condition over the past few years that has grown to be a nightmare to get rid of. I've gone through all kinds of testing with her when she's had this in the past, and no one could figure out what it was. They were going to test to see if she had an auto-immune disorder next. In addition, we were getting ready to go to the vet dermatologist. But since I wanted her seen ASAP, someone insisted that I go see Dr. Winters. She said he would just look at the lesions and know what they were immediately. I was super doubtful, but sure enough, that's exactly what happened. I told him about the other tests she'd had (after he'd already diagnosed her) and he said "of course those came back negative." And he knew (without my telling him) the one drug that had been most helpful clearing it up in the past. I'm pretty sure that with this $135 visit ($45 exam + cost of meds), I just saved thousands of dollars in specialty vet bills, and kind of can't believe the $700+ I've already spent on skin cultures, biopsies, other meds and specialty shampoos, etc... that didn't work. I am now a believer in the powers of Dr. Winters. Read Less

DO NOT BRING YOUR PET HERE IF YOU CARE FOR THE WELL BEING OF YOUR PET! I had been going to BHSAH on and off for a few years simply for my dogs anal glands and nail trimming. My dog had been in pretty good health so that was all he needed. Just recently my dog had some odd behavior that gave me the feeling he wasn't feeling well. I took my dog in for the same concern 3 separate times, paid over $500 in blood work and treated poorly by the staff only to hear he was fine and gave me the feeling I was being overly concerned. The day after his 3rd visits, my dog became very lethargic. To make a long story short my dog became very ill and passed 2 weeks later. THIS OFFICE WILL HURT YOUR PETS. STAY AWAY!!! Read Less

My neighbor previously referred me to this location due to her high praise of Dr. Maie Takahashi. Since my pet already has a great vet, we never checked out this referral. However, this past weekend when my dog up choking and gasping for air (see my review on Chateau Marmutt to get that full story), we made an emergency visit early Saturday morning. The staff was great. Dr. Ford K. Suehiro was friendly, knowledgable, and willing to answer any and all questions I had for him. This is probably the dingiest little building in Beverly Hills. I should have listened to my gut feeling the moment I walked in that place... as Malcolm Gladwell puts it: ""intuitive repulsion."" The waiting room is small and disgusting. I probably got infested by fleas by just sitting there. The exam room, and there is only ONE, is cramped and only slightly nicer than the rest of the place. Probably the worst vet office I've ever been to in 20 years. The Doc, Dr. Winters, was nice enough if not a bit hurried (the entire exam was literally about 3 minutes), but overall what a disasterpiece. I was a walk-in and waited 1 hour to be seen. I will not go back. Read Less

Dr. Winters is such a great vet. His motto seems to be not to fix what isn't broken. He's definately on top of his game, but he won't sell you all kinds of stuff your pet doesn't need. He's been doing this for decades - very down to earth, and he won't nickle and dime you. The best is, you can tell he loves animals. Just a really kind, sincere, and competent man. I moved all the way downtown and still take my furry children to him. The other vets there are good, too. It's walk in. Call and ask who's on duty. Read Less

Beverly Hills Small Animal Hospital-they are great. They sound expensive but they're not. When my dog had an ear infection, they saw me the next morning during their 'walk in' time, I was the fourth one seen, charged me half price since her diagnosis was so quick, gave her a shot, some drops and a cream, and I got out of there for a little over $100. Small price to pay for my baby. Read Less

Read Less
