A couple weeks ago my mom & I had to make a very hard decision
to have our cat put to sleep. Kim is very kind & compassionate and showed deep concern for our feelings. We really appreciate her professional treatment towards animals and they seem to really like her, which this is a Good Sign. In the past she has gone out of her way to help my 80 year old mother. I'm usually the one picking up the cats, so I've never met the doctor, but maybe today since I will be there. The staff is very nice, the area is clean and the rates are fair. Really no complains from me, my wife or the kitties so 5 stars! Daniel M.
Dr. Kim is wonderful. She is progressive in her treatment, well experienced, excellent surgical skills and very compassionate. She takes time with each patient. Her fees are very affordable She loves her work and really cares about each animal. I rate her numero uno in the kennel club.
Dr. Hickman is a very sensitive veterinarian and has a great rapport with the animals she treats. Her staff is friendly and helpful. They always have a couple of cats laying around the office. Dr. Hickman is not in the off daily which can create a problem if your animal is really sick.
Dr. Kim was compassionate and actually listened to what I had to say about my cat's ailments. She took the time to understand exactly what was wrong and seemed to actually care about him. The staff was friendly and the price of the visit was reasonable. Plus, there were a lot of other friendly cats roaming around which made the clinic feel a bit more homey. I will continue to bring my family's animals in to see her.
Dr. Kim Hickman is a very nice lady, who cares about animals. She is good with dogs and cats. She has a small town animal clinic and is able to meet the needs of many animals in our community.

I discovered what I thought was a tumor on my little Westie's jaw and took him to Dr. Kim's clinic. I wasn't a client but they brought him in immediately to see what was going on. He was prescribed some medication and I'm already seeing fantastic results. The swelling has decreased dramatically and am really thankful for that!

Do not take your animals here! You cannot get past the receptionist for any information or Reason. If you do not have the entire amount of cash in your hand they will not treat your dog. They say this is not their policy but it was my first hand experience. I offered to write a check or go to the bank and bring the cash back immediately. I was refused. My dog was massively overdosed on thyroid and had to be rushed to VCA. The doctor there said the dosage was 10 times what she should have been given. She was well when I went in to get her normal shots. When given the medication she began shaking and didn't stop for 3 months. Her hair fell out and she was itching badly within 12 hours of the first dose of Medicine. She saved two human lives. With thousands of dollars of treatment this highly skilled California service dog had to be put down to end her suffering. I am not a fan of dr. Kim. If you want a meditation teacher go there. But if you want a veterinarian I would take my dog any place else.

Had a wonderful first visit with my adopted dog. The office staff was awesome and very helpful. Dr.Kim was so kind and encouraged questions which is more than I can say for even my own doctor. I'm very grateful to have such an amazing place to take my baby to. I can understand that cost may be a factor, I can't say that Dr.Kim is more expensive than other veterinary care in Big Bear but I can say her and office's service is worth every penny I paid.

Here for a few weeks on vacation with my new puppies and it's time for their booster shots, so where should I go? I yelped it and found The wonderful Dr. Hickman and staff! Morgan the receptionist was so sweet and helpful, she let me know Wednesday is clinic day so immunizations were half off! The assistant (didn't catch her name) was very nice as well! Dr Hickman came in and was so friendly and down to earth! Just loved her! She took good care of my fur babies and was very helpful with answering all my questions about flea pills (for down the hill) and future immunizations needed or not needed. I will be planning my trips/vacations up to Big Bear around the puppies schedule for immunizations from now on! So much less expensive then at home down the hill!

I don't live in Big Bear but vacation here every year and this year, my dog had gotten into a fight with a bigger dog and we found a hard lump under her cheek so we took her here. Dr. Kim came in and before I even opened my mouth to say a word, she felt the lump and asked if my dog had been around other dogs. I was so shocked and surprised (in a great way) that she could deduct that so quickly. Both Dr. Kim and the nurse and receptionist were so incredibly nice with me and my dog. I felt so at home and we walked out with a proper diagnosis and medication to reduce the swelling. Thank you so so much to everyone there for your kindness and for helping my little girl!

The doctor gave us a home natural remedy and it has been working well. We so love this vet 1,000 times more than our first vet for our beagle. Plus this vet is next to the donut shop!

I took my 14 year old German Shepherd search and rescue dog there and they just gave her meds and said she's just old and sent us home after 2 more years of doing wonderful she wasn't getting up so they gave her same pills and within 3 days wasn't eating or going to the bathroom we rushed her to VCA and as we were caring her to the back she peed and pooped and as soon as we put her on the table she just looked at me while I was petting her and by the time within 30 seconds the dr. came in she was gone and they didn't charge us anything they gave me as much time as I needed. Best dog ever miss her and love her forever. A year after that I took my Southeastern box tortoise 60 years old live to be 150 years) over to them because she had stopped moving but (btw they are right across the street from me is the only reason I go there) her paws and head and eyes were open just not moving in the middle of the summer and they refused to just check her heart beat once again took her to VCA and they told me she had an aneurism. Very unusual.

This is a rural down home animal clinic with a very caring staff. We put our complete confidence in the staff at Bear Valley Animal Hospital. And a big plus, her fees are very reasonable. What a wonderful local veterinary office. I am in San Diego half the time and Big Bear half the time and wanted a local vet in case of emergencies, etc. Dr Kim and her staff are wonderful. They assisted me with getting medication I left in San Diego over the wekeend. They staff is pleasant and professional. I have scheduled both dogs dental for July when I am up there mid week. Dr Kim came out to meet me and was so nice. I had called VCA and was treated so rudely I was stunned. Dr Kim and her staff are wonderful.

Kim is very knowledgeable, explains her diagnoses and treats it accordingly. She is compassionate and is considerate of your feelings. She always has a nice smile on her face and is pleasant to talk to. In the past she has gone out of her way to help us out. Morgan was so helpful to me this morning, had our 13 year old German Shepherd pass way last nght and had to take care of her. Morgan was so consoling and assured me that Gigi would be cremated and her ashes would be scattered in the ocean.

Here for a few weeks on vacation with my new puppies and it's time for their booster shots, so where should I go? I yelped it and found The wonderful Dr. Hickman and staff! Morgan the receptionist was so sweet and helpful, she let me know Wednesday is clinic day so immunizations were half off! The assistant (didn't catch her name) was very nice as well! Dr Hickman came in and was so friendly and down to earth! Just loved her! She took good care of my fur babies and was very helpful with answering all my questions about flea pills (for down the hill) and future immunizations needed or not needed. I will be planning my trips/vacations up to Big Bear around the puppies schedule for immunizations from now on! So much less expensive then at home down the hill!

dr kim is some one that you just trust with your pet had chachas teeth cleaned and yes about 6 had to come out but she can chew a bone now and is sooo much happier

I don't live in Big Bear but vacation here every year and this year, my dog had gotten into a fight with a bigger dog and we found a hard lump under her cheek so we took her here. Dr. Kim came in and before I even opened my mouth to say a word, she felt the lump and asked if my dog had been around other dogs. I was so shocked and surprised (in a great way) that she could deduct that so quickly. Both Dr. Kim and the nurse and receptionist were so incredibly nice with me and my dog. I felt so at home and we walked out with a proper diagnosis and medication to reduce the swelling. Thank you so so much to everyone there for your kindness and for helping my little girl!

I had to take my beagle for his N surgery. The staff and Doctor were very nice. Before that we had brought them in for annual shots and check up. Very good price for both. The doctor gave us a home natural remedy and it has been working well. We so love this vet 1,000 times more than our first vet for our beagle. Plus this vet is next to the donut shop!

I took my 14 year old German Shepherd search and rescue dog there and they just gave her meds and said she's just old and sent us home after 2 more years of doing wonderful she wasn't getting up so they gave her same pills and within 3 days wasn't eating or going to the bathroom we rushed her to VCA and as we were caring her to the back she peed and pooped and as soon as we put her on the table she just looked at me while I was petting her and by the time within 30 seconds the dr. came in she was gone and they didn't charge us anything they gave me as much time as I needed. Best dog ever miss her and love her forever. A year after that I took my Southeastern box tortoise 60 years old live to be 150 years) over to them because she had stopped moving but (btw they are right across the street from me is the only reason I go there) her paws and head and eyes were open just not moving in the middle of the summer and they refused to just check her heart beat once again took her to VCA and they told me she had an aneurism. Very unusual.

This is a rural down home animal clinic with a very caring staff. We put our complete confidence in the staff at Bear Valley Animal Hospital. And a big plus, her fees are very reasonable. Thanks to a friend of ours for recommending Dr. Kim. She is the best Veterinarian in the Big Bear Valley!

What a wonderful local veterinary office. I am in San Diego half the time and Big Bear half the time and wanted a local vet in case of emergencies, etc. Dr Kim and her staff are wonderful. They assisted me with getting medication I left in San Diego over the wekeend. They staff is pleasant and professional. I have scheduled both dogs dental for July when I am up there mid week. Dr Kim came out to meet me and was so nice. I had called VCA and was treated so rudely I was stunned. Dr Kim and her staff are wonderful.

We moved up here approximately 24 years ago and have been taking our animals to Bear City Animal Hospital since then. We are very pleased with their services provided. Kim is very knowledgeable, explains her diagnoses and treats it accordingly. She is compassionate and is considerate of your feelings. She always has a nice smile on her face and is pleasant to talk to. In the past she has gone out of her way to help us out.
