We love how much they love our dog! It is a bit pricier than other vets in the area, but they are knowledgeable and thorough. I feel the care my precious pet gets here is worth the little extra cash. I recently visited Brentwood Family Pet care, I had a wonderful experience. I was greeted immediately. The space is HUGE, clean and welcoming. The vets and staff are truly pet people. They have pictures posted in the lobby proudly displaying their love of animals. I brought my rescue dog in for a free check up. I saw Dr. Tucker. He was very knowledgeable and gave me a great plan to help my dog get on a fast track to optimum health. I was relieved they were not biased or afraid of my pit bull. In fact the staff has tons of various breeds. Melissa the vet tech was awesome. She took time to review the treatment plan and the costs. They were very flexible and she even gave me a discount on the mess. She also called me for two weeks to check up on my dog. Can't say enough great things. Try them. Read Less

My dogs are family to me. I have two beautiful golden retrievers and so looking for a great place that will take good care of them is a must. All the staff at Brentwood Family Pet Care are amazing. The office staff is very sweet and friendly. I give them 5 stars. However, I have a very "high alert" Shiba Inu who is very weary of the vet. The vet who saw Sachi was sweet and seemed to be very caring but had little, if any, experience with Shibas. The only measure that was taken was to put him to sleep to do any physical handling with him. While I understand, this cannot be the only way to take him to the vet. I actually did not have any issues with University Veterinary in Berkeley before I moved to this area. I will be taking him back there instead. My only other issue with BFPC is they charge far too much - especially for meds. University Veterinary tends to be on the more expensive side, but I'm more interested at this point in making Sachi comfortable and BFPC Vet seemed to be more scared than being able to take control of the situation. I have purchased a muzzle for him but I am very apprehensive to take him back to BFPC due to lack of experience with this breed. Read Less

After my dog got seen by Dr. Fong, he was still in pain. I called a week later, several times, and never received a call back. Dr. Lee ordered prescriptions but did t bother to call me to let me know. I took my dog to a different vet and he got X-rays done (again) and found out that there is nothing wrong with his back, he has hip dysplasia. If I never would have taken him somewhere else, I would still be here giving him pain meds without knowing what's wrong. Very unprofessional of the two individuals who were suppose to call me, Sierra and Dr. Lee. Not going back again! Read Less

This place smells fresh and is clean even with pets in and out all day and having accidents. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable. Some things like getting our pet spayed we'll do at a county clinic as it's cheaper but you get the drawback of the "meat market" feel. This is a top notch clinic. I don't give 5 because the costs are excessive when compared to other clinics. I understand though, I'm comparing a Rolls Royce to a Jeep in such cases (not quite apples to apples). Read Less

I've been taking my animals here for the past 5 years and have no plans to ever take them anywhere else! The staff is professional, very knowledgable and loves on your pets as if they were their own. They make my animals so comfortable and at ease when I take them in, which keeps the stress of a vet's office at bay. They always offer to carry your pet or even big bags of food out to your car. I've read reviews that said they are a bit high in their prices. I'm not sure about that but I do know that you get what you pay for. I love BFPC! Read Less

The staff at BFPC are amazing! For over 6 years they took great care of our Golden Retriever, Miles and exceeded our expectations. Always treating our dog and family with great care and after 14 years of life helped us put him down comfortablly, and went above and beyond their duties, comforting my daughters during tragic day. Now 3 years later, BFPC was exactly where we came back now with a new puppy in the family. No question, best local Vet. The staff, Kylie, Kimberly are hilarious and infectious. Brentwood Family Pet Care has provided my beloved pet with the tender-loving care she deserves. The doctors and staff are caring, competent and enthusiastic. My dog recently had surgery: from scheduling the surgery through the recovery process after surgery, BFPC was attentive to my pet's needs and followed up with me to check on her progress (Dr. Kristi actually called me, too!). It is also nice that I have been able to get same-day appointments when my pet has had sudden issues (like hot spots, for instance). I have a minature pincher with chronic ear aches. This summer has been very hard for her. I haven't worked in 2 years and did not have the money needed to have her treated. I could not stand to see her in pain and went to Dr. Lichlyter to ask for his advise. He not only spent quality time with me explaining what could be done, but he went out of his way and gave me prescribed medication that I would otherwise not be able to get.
