My small dog was attacked by an off leash dog last night and had a scratch and a very small bit of blood on his tummy that I treated myself. This morning after inspecting his back I found a large punter wound under his matted hair. I called this hospital and pressed two for "emergency". As nervous (new) doggie parents, my husband and I were anxious about finding the right care provider for our pup. Dr. Hilliard has been so fantastic - she answers all our (sometimes ridiculous) questions with no judgement, is super knowledgeable, friendly and takes great care of our puppy. We were so nervous about her spay procedure, but everything went as smooth as can be. Dr. Hilliard spoke to my husband on the phone immediately after the surgery and the next day when we had some follow up questions. Yes, it was more expensive than a low-cost clinic (which we were also considering), but the mixed, less than stellar reviews from those places set us on edge. It's worth the peace of mind to pay extra for the best care, and we feel good knowing we have a trusted provider for our girl. As you would hope, everyone who works at Media City loves the animals. Our dog actually loves going to the vet!  With appointments now available 6 days a week and in the evenings, we can always get in if/when we need. We have seen the various vets available, they share information appropriately. Our dog needs a monthly allergy pill and we looked for cheaper alternatives with the on-line pharmacies. This vet does not overly mark-up prices for profit - pills are only pennies cheaper on-line, not worth it. Other charges seem a bit high but we haven't compared with other pet clinics... Convenience of location, parking, brand new remodeled facility - can't imagine going anywhere else. Read Less

Dr. Odama is beyond amazing. He listens to you and works on a game plan for your pet. He does not (and has not) try to up-sell you on a procedure or medication or food. He is methodical and spends more time with you than I would ever expect making sure you understand the problem and the solution(s) available. I found my go-to vet place.My roommate brings his dog here and has seen a number of the vets. He gave glowing feedback about all of them so I figured my cat and I would give them a shot even though I don't live very close.Could not be more pleased with everything about Media City Animal Hospital. The receptionists were kind and efficient and helped me while I juggled vet records and cat carrier. I sat down and  chatted with the happy waiting room of pet owners and played with their pets. Even though the waiting room was full, everyone seemed satisfied, it emptied quickly, and my cat was seen within minutes. The assistant was kind and explanatory and gentle while he took her temperature and prepared her for the vet.Now, Dr. Liz - I wish she could be my doctor. My cat immediately warmed up to Dr. Liz. She listened attentively to each of my concerns then assessed and addressed each of them in detail. She gently examined the cat and explained why each issue was or wasn't a concern, what we could do if further analysis was required, how critical it might be, and what kind of impact it might have on my wallet. She was clearly very knowledgeable and experienced in the field but was also very practical and made me feel comfortable with whatever decisions I had to make. She called me a few days later to follow up on the blood work and, again, took her time and made sure I left the conversation with all of my questions answered.The only semi-negative is that the parking lot was full (though I may have just come at a busy time), but I easily and immediately found free street parking ~50 feet from the parking lot.In summary: go here.Also, they have candy in the rooms and it's good candy, not those stupid hard candy things. I brought my cat here because she was acting lethargic, she wouldn't eat or drink, and was hiding from everyone. She was really not behaving like herself. The place is a mess. This isn't really their fault as they are currently doing construction on the building, but I though I should mention it. When I got there with my cat, I was greeted by a stressed out receptionist as apparently there are only two of them on staff taking care of everything. Then I went back and sat in the room for a bit with my cat. This is where my problems start. The doctor came in and took my cat's weight and asked what was up. I told her and she felt my cat's stomach and told me that she was constipated. That was it. She gave her an enema and when she didn't poop, I was sent home with a laxative. No information about what to do if she doesn't poop. No information about when to be worried. Nothing. I took her home and the laxative made her worse. I took her to a different vet today and now I'm really upset at this place. At the new vet I took her to, I was informed about everything they were doing and why they were doing it. They took her temperature and her weight and made sure to go over everything. They also managed to find a growth on her ear that went completely missed by Media City. They gave her X-rays and found out that she is dehydrated and has arthritis. NOT CONSTIPATED! They immediately gave her a shot for her stomach cramps that they could see she was having as well as sending us home with pain meds and fluids. Oh and it was cheaper there than it was at this place. TLDR: this place did such a crap job looking at my cat, they missed a possibly cancerous growth on my cats ear and did more harm than good for my cat in the end because they just didn't look at her well enough. And they were more expensive than the new place I took her to that was better. DONT GO HERE!!!! Read Less

I am giving this place a 2 star because I booked an appointment to go there for my cat. She needs to be fixed and I reached out to them and booked an appointment online. Whoever was contacting me was very generous I must say that. But when she sent me an estimate of how much it would cost me to get her fixed, it came out to be $480. I was shocked! I went online and found a different facility that focuses mainly on fixing cats and it is only going to cost me $55. On top of that this other place had exceptionally high ratings from yelpers also. I don't understand why vet hospitals need to charge so much money when in reality it shouldn't even cost that much. I've been to a few vets in the area and Media City is my first choice for my 3 pups. They genuinely love all pets and treat them as if they were their own. The doctor makes it a point to follow up when they have any major procedures and takes the time to explain everything in detail and ask all questions. We came to them when our dog was feeling really sick. We assumed it was an emergency. As soon as we entrered the clinic, I told them the situation is potentially serious. They did not waste time and took our dog to the back right away and made sure she was stable before placing us in one of the waiting rooms.They were extremely friendly and professional and found a problem with our dog's ear that we hadn't noticed. They cleaned her ear and gave the proper meds to use later on. They also faxed over all their notes about the visit to the vet we usually visit. Overall, extremely friendly and professional service. We have been going here for the past 3 years. Dr. Trout is amazing and genuinely cares for our puppies! They are always available for spur of the moment questions and concerns. Even though we moved out of the area, we still commute here to get our dogs treated at this facility because the staff, doctors, and service is top notch! Dr. Trout is one of a kind! My dog Charlie was bit by a black widow in the night, he had hives all overs his body, eyes shut from swelling and right side of his mouth swollen. I searched in Google and called this hospital, they gave me an appt right away. The staff was friendly, professional and the Md was amazing and also very affordable. Can we just talk about the staff here! We moved from Hollywood with a Hollywood vet to Burbank to media city vet and I don't think I could have made a better decision! We LOVE the doctors here, luckily have only needed to come for minor itchy skin, a  neuter and vaccinations. But love how they are honest and upfront with options and opinions as well as conclusions. They get things done. But let's talk specifically about two of the sweetest ladies up front! Evelyn and Jenny! They saved the day from a potential very stressful situation. Brought my two boys in on Thursday night for a vaccination appointment. I called earlier and Jenny answered a few questions for me and was so kind. Fast forward to our appointment. I got the MCV a little early, walked around my car to let dug and Lincoln out, only to find my supposedly unlockable keys locked in my car...with the dogs...and my phone, purse etc! And no, I don't have aaa. So I walked in and told Evelyn, ....'we're here...kinda'. Smart lady looked up our records and luckily my bf's number was listed there. Yeah, 3yrs into a relationship and I have NO IDEA what his or anyone else's number is off hand. Con-he's out of state...pro...he has access to the roomies numbers who could allow me into the house to get the spare car key! EVELYN the most amazing person in the world drive me home (it was the end of her shift anyway, talk about good timing) AND drove me back to the vet...I don't live more than about 5-8min away, but still! It was passed her home. Anyway, you don't find that kindness around much anymore...especially with strangers. So shout out to these two ladies as well as the rest of the doctors and staff who in the last year we've had them, have been nothing short of helpful, kind and informative! -you're greatly appreciated (Dogs were perfectly fine in the car, it was evening and cool. I have always taken my dogs to Sharp pet hospital but decided to give this clinic a first try since it was a few blocks away from my home. I just got a new dog and scheduled an appt. Dr. Chan was very friendly and made my dog feel very comfortable that's why I have 2 stars. How ever she prescribed antibiotics for a small wound that had already healed. It caused my dog to get sick and didn't eat for 3 days. I called the office and she advices to keep him on the meds. However I stopped giving them to my puppy and he started eating again a day after. Never again bring one of my dogs to the office. Read Less

I definitely recommend this place to bring your fur babies to. My cat was very comfortable with the staff here. Unfortunately I had to put him to sleep last summer. He was 19 years old and his heart and kidneys were going bad. They were unbelievably kind giving me all the time I needed to say goodbye. I recall being given a hug by another employee after walking out of the room from putting my sweet boy to sleep. They are by no means the cheapest vet but they are not exorbitantly expensive either. I am seeing a vet on monthly basis and often weekly. If you live within a 25 mile radius from Burbank- Media City is an excellent choice.Office staff: friendly & efficient.  They are sharp and quick at providing assistance and although are on a walk in basis will take your information for an appointment. I appreciate this system as a person who has walked into clinics with emergency situations and also sometimes late to an appt due to traffic. You will not wait long- which seems to be the goal. Serve pets as quickly as possible. Clinic: clean, uncluttered and there's parking. Doctors:I have only met Dr Odama at Media City but I'm confident they are all dedicated and a good choice. I followed Dr Odama from another clinic. He is a wonderful human and top notch vet. He has tons of experience and seems to always know what is going on with my 4 legged kids. In the past 8 years, Dr Odama, has successfully treated 3 cats in my care and ample dogs with various ailments ranging  from a brain tumor, stubborn allergies, tummy issues due to stress, stomach obstruction, dental cleanings, spay, and heart issues. He has great bedside manners & penmanship so you can read the notes you take home from visit and is considerate of financial circumstances. He's expertise is spot on. If you need an amazing vet that listen's to your concerns, provides options for treatment & is an above average Vet- I highly recommend Dr Robert Odama. Read Less

This is the best animal hospital in Southern California. The staff , especially Eveleen were amazing. They cared for our smokey like he was one of the family. Dr. Odama is an extremely friendly and compassionate doctor. He took really good care of my dog, Spike today. Spike was coughing all morning and I decided to look for a veterinarian for my fur baby. This Vet was the primary care takers of our sweet dog TWIX. She recently passed due to congenital problems and the Media City team couldn't have been better to us. Twix was the first new puppy within the marriage of myself and my wife. She had some unexpected problems extremely early on so we visited with Media City. They were caring, fast paced, loving, and as effective as they could be to try and figure out/help us and sweet Twix. Tried today (1/27/2017) at 8 am to make an appointment for our dog.  Context of the the conversation:Receptionist - "Media Center Pet Hospital, is this an emergency?"Me - "No."Receptionist- .....Me - "Hello?!?"Dialtone.........Wouldn't go there now even if they offered free initial appointment.  The referral came from a friend and will definitely let them and other friends with pets know to steer clear of this office.  I was told the vets themselves are great, but everything else is just meh. This is a top-notch animal hospital that I take my cats to. They are so good at what they do, & are so caring about our pets. It puts my mind at ease when I know that I have to take one of my fur babies in to the vet, as I know that they will get the best of care. The vet that I see there is Dr. Liz Koskenmaki. Everyone calls her Dr. Liz. I have been taking my cats to her, per a friend's recommendation, since I moved to the North Hollywood area in 2003. Her bedside manner is so precious with the animals, & she is so honest, I trust her implicitly. I highly recommend that you take your pets to Media City Animal Hospital for the best of care. If you feel like paying more than is normal for veterinary services then go right ahead. We've taken our pets here for years but they are price gouging at this point for procedures. My dog had a tooth extraction and tee cleaning procedure under anesthesia last year for a total of $890 and this year it's going to be over $1300 with blood work. I'm sorry, what? I had only taken my dog in for one simple check up before she was viciously attacked in the park by another dog. I rushed her to media city animal hospital and although I was a new client they treated me like family. My dog got the best of care. They saved her life. Everyone from the front of house staff to the vet techs to the fabulous doctors did everything they could to not only save my baby but also to help me through an incredibly traumatic time. While my dog was in surgery they checked on me offered me a kind word or tissue for my tears and kept me informed of everything that was going on. They were able to let me know about the risks without scaring me. They were incredibly professional and personally kind. The veterinarians at Media City Animal Hospital are truly amazing at what they do! My 10 year old dog with a heart condition just had to undergo surgery for some tooth extractions and to remove a growth from his back. I was so nervous at the thought of putting him under anesthesia with his heart condition, but Dr. Levitt made me feel so much more at ease with everything. She (along with the other vets) are extremely experienced! During the surgery they have extra technology to monitor vital signs for more at risk animals that some other vets do not have. They also call during and immediately after the surgery to give updates and will call back very quickly to answer any follow up questions or concerns. Dr. Levitt also looked at a picture of my dog's incision that I emailed her to make sure it was healing correctly so I didn't have to bring him back in. I HIGHLY recommend this place for any of your animals who hold a special place in your heart. They will be well taken care of! Read Less

I've been coming here since early 2013. They've treated my previous cat, who had advanced lung cancer when I moved to Burbank, as well as my new cats. I had gone to a different office, and that office diagnosed the cancer and essentially said, "Well, that's it." I saw Dr. Levitt for a second opinion, and she was able to determine that my cat also had a lung infection, so she treated it, and my cat was able to stop coughing and enjoy several more months of normal, happy life. I appreciated how thorough she was and willing to understand that I wasn't willing to let my cat go just over the first symptom.I got a new kitten from the shelter in mid 2013, and Media City got me in immediately for her initial checkup. Since it was a different day of the week, my new kitten saw Dr. Fogel, who is also very thorough and pleasant. They did her deworming and coordinated her spay with another surgical hospital so I didn't have to go there myself. The front desk schedules my cat's next annual visit each time, so I don't have to remember, and her vaccines are always up to date. They also have a vendor who does annual teeth cleaning there. My cat likes to bite the vendor; I trained her well.A few days ago I found a small kitten on Olympic Blvd, so I took it home, bathed it, and got an appointment the next morning with Dr. Chan. Same kind of plan as with my other cat. She dewormed the kitten just in case and told me how much flea medicine to use on such a small kitten, and the kitten will get her tests and vaccines soon. The kitten is happy, playful and the fleas are all gone. So cute.I would not go anywhere else. Read Less

When the mobile vet I used for over a decade closed his practice, friends referred me to Media City Animal Hospital and I've been very happy with them. In the last year, they've seen my dog and cat for various diagnostic and treatment reasons (i.e. cancer, kidney disease, stomach problems, arthritis, end of life procedures, etc.). I am a big fan of both Dr. Trout and Dr. Fogel who have shown kindness to my pets, a great bedside manner, and an overall easy going disposition. The staff is also kind, considerate, and helpful. Let me start by saying my two dogs are not clients. I am writing this purely because the vet aids have no respect for people's property. I live on Sparks St and every week I come home to poop in my front yard. Now some might say that there's no proof it's these guys, but I indeed have proof. Just last week the wife comes home just as the dog, in the care of the vet clinic, pinched off his load. The wife even waited for the vet aid to move since she was partially standing on the drive way. She looked back and saw the wife, started to move, looked down , looked back with annoyance at the wife and pick up HALF the fresh load. Gee thanks for working so hard to pick up HALF! If these people have that much disrespect for the neighborhood they serve, why should I trust them with the care and service of my two dogs? What type of disrespect will they show them? No thanks. I hope someone up top sees this and has a meeting with the staff to address the issue of leaving waste on people's lawn. The dogs are in your care, pick up after them. Common sense isn't so common. We recently had to put our dog, Hershey down. She had been going to them since we rescued her about 10 years ago. They saved her life about two years ago, when 3rd stage cancerous tumors were found in her. Dr. Liz did her surgery to remove them, and we were able to have two more wonderful years with her. They always treated her with such love and care when we came in. When we finally made the hard decision to put her down, they offered special care, which of course cost a bit more, to come to our house and do it in our backyard. She went so peacefully in our own home. I just want to give a huge thank you to all of the staff, and especially Dr. Liz, for all of their work. Very upset with the overall experience. First, let me say, that the doctor, Trout, who we've seen before is good, so this has nothing to do with her. Especially since during this most recent visit, my cat was not seen by her. I got a notice in the mail stating that my cat's 1 year rabies shot was coming up, so I called to make an appointment. When I made the appointment, I specifically asked how much was this visit going to be and I was told $22. I wanted to be reassured that I was not going to be surprised at the register, that I was going to be getting what I was making an appointment for and that I was being told the same price that I'd pay once the visit was over. I was reassured, $22 for the technician visit and that was all I was going to pay, which I wrote down on my calendar to remember. Fast forward to his visit. When I arrived, the front desk people were just unfriendly. No greeting, barely acknowledged I was there, just a sign in and someone will be with you, which is what always happens when I go there and I usually don't care about it because I'm not there for pleasantries, but to get my cat taken care of. About 15 mins later, the tech comes out, explains to me that my cat is going to be getting his rabies shot and 2 shots that go with it that he got a year ago... here we go. Now because the two other shots beyond the rabies shot were not on the year notice I got, and because I was not told at all he was going to be getting these other shots, I asked him, so all of this is covered under the tech visit and will be $22? He nodded and said it's all under the same price. When my cat was finished, I went to go pay and low and behold the price of my visit was $81 dollars. When I rebuffed that and said I was told multiple times the price was $22 for the tech visit for his rabies shot, she said, "no, $27 dollars for each shot". New info to me. Where did the $22 number come from, where did the term 'tech visit' come from. $27 per shot is not remotely the same as $22 for the technician visit. Not only that, if you knew I was going to be needing 3 shots for my cat, why wasn't that put on the 2 notices I got reminding me his yearly rabies shot was coming up, or told to me when I called to make the appointment. I don't mind paying for the well being of my cat. What I do mind is sticker shock, especially when I took multiple steps to ensure I wouldn't get that shock and I was given 100% completely the wrong info. Not only did the front desk girl, just give my a fake 'I'm sorry, but give my your card so I can get on with my day attitude', I ended up paying $59 more than I was told for two shots I didn't even know coming in the door he was going to get, which is exactly what I wanted to avoid. Needless to say that I'll be taking my cat to a new vet, which is unfortunate that the actual vets are losing business because of their bad service of the non doctors.Read Less

I had never been here before but know a couple of the vets from VCA years ago. I have been going up to Stevenson Ranch to see my great vet that I found in 2007 when I lived up there. Today my Wrigley had a little cut by his eye, and I was worried he may need stitches so I called them at 5:15 and they squeezed me in. We saw Dr. Liz and she was great. My little Westie is now in the cone of shame, but otherwise great. Thank you for great service!!! Read Less

Unfortunately, I lost my wonderful cat, Frankie, but Dr Liz and the others did everything they could for her and for a short while Frankie was happy and feeling better. I'll always be grateful for the love & care she received every time we were there.
