The vet was ok and some of the staff were nice. But the place and specially reception area had a terrible odor of being filthy. The exam room was old and did not feel clean either.

The reason I give this place a star was because I have a 9 year old rabbit who I notice he had a lump and I didn't know where to take him since is really hard to find vets that works with rabbits or are specialized. The appointment was easy to made and the lady at the front desk was nice. I got charge $67 for the examination and the vet said that he had a tumor and needed to be removed and he sent me to the front desk lady to pay and give me a quote for the surgery. Then I got charged and I guess she didn't know the quote and went inside to double check on the vet. Then she came outside telling me that they weren't sure about the quote and it was a Friday so she said that I was going to get a call or email from them on Monday. That never happen and for me that was unprofessional that you tell your costumers to wait on a simple quote as if you never work with rabbits before. Lack of honesty of this business place it was simple to tell your costumers you don't feel comfortable on doing a surgery on a rabbit. Then leaving your costumers waiting a whole weekend for a quote. Thank you for your honesty and good intentions as a vet.

Been going here for a long time and have come to really like the "mean" front desklady. She is a little rough around the edges but gets better over time.Dr. Merrill does not give any extra time But he gives what he needs to.Recently I took a dog my son rescued in for an exam and they were very accommodating and I never feel they request unneeded tests or encourage unnecessary Treatment.

Service is sub par. Go to Sage nextdoor instead. My wife took my dog, but I had to call to see if my dog was ready to go home, even though they said they would call. They said he was ready, but I waited almost an hour to get him, despite no emergency patients coming in and the report they sent to my vet was incomplete. They also didn't have the simple eye drops that they recommended for my dogs apparent dry eye, and when I went to the vet to get it, I had to pay for a comsult, and my vet did a test that revealed my dig didn't have dry eyes at all, but just sleeps with his eyes partially opened, which isnt solved with drops. Goto Sage next door instead. It is phenomenal.

I took my Shih tzu Tuppence to Dr Merril when we moved to Burlingame 8 years ago. Unfortunately Tuppence passed away this January at the age of 16. But over the 8 years I always found it easy to get appointments and very accommodating if any thing was urgent. I mainly dealt with Karen on Reception and she has always been friendly and efficient with me. Dr Merril was fantastic with me when he did an X-ray and diagnosed Tuppence with a lung mass. He was very caring and went out of his way calling other practices to get me all the help I needed. Any time he had blood work etc done over the years Dr Merril always followed up with me himself with any results.
