I'm giving them one star because I have to.  On June 1st, 2017 new management came in and got rid of every employee, some of which had been working there for 20 years.  They were like family, and it breaks my heart to see what has happened to the clinic.  I wish the people who posted pics on yelp would consider taking them down, because they give a false representation.  I feel so bad for my Poopaloo, because he doesn't understand why he's not going to daycare to see his friends anymore.  Thank you so much Andrea, Jess L., Jess E., Jess A., Dr. Ravenscroft for loving and caring for our little Poopaloo.  We miss you and wish you the best. i just found out that Dr. Studnicka is now working in Calabasas. I am really happy to find her again. Last July, my 2 big watchdogs got out of their pen before i was able to put my mostly blind, arthritic old collie-mix in his night pen. They jumped on him before i could blink. The result was a torn to shreds little guy with an ear hanging off and he was ripped open in 3 places. He was in shock when i got him to Dr. Studnicka. She closed the office, had staff cancel all remaining appointments, and went to work on him. 4 hours later, he looked like Frankenweenie, but actually survived! no infections or drainage tube problems.. he only whimpered when he got stitches out. (big baby). I will follow her anywhere! Read Less

We are new members of the clinic's family. I chose the term "family" with care, because from the second we arrived, we felt welcome and our extremely cranky, very sick, elderly dog was at ease and acted like a happy puppy around the office.Even though the office is often bustling, we always feel well attended, and our dog's health and well being are paramount. The positive vibe in the office is palpable, and the facilities are pleasant, clean and comfortable for both the humans and animals. The support staff are all professional and caring and act as a team whose focus is on the patients and their families. Dr. Tyneway is particularly thoughtful and skillful with our grumpy, growly 14 year old Malinois, Sasha. We appreciate her wholistic approach to the care of Sasha, which is a breath of fresh air for us, having come from a conventional vet. The alternative forms of care have made a huge difference in the life of Sasha. By employing a progressive, multi-modal approach to Sasha's care, Dr. Tyneway has changed the course of our beloved pet's life; Sasha's attitude is sunnier, her pain is well managed, and she's more mobile. Our praise, however, is dwarfed by the appreciation Sasha heaped upon the doctor: after Sasha's first appointment, while we were leaving, Sasha turned around and walked straight up to Dr. Tyneway and nuzzled her hand. ***Please read all, it has a happy ending **I moved to the area about a year ago and was so frustrated that this was the closest clinic to my house to go to for my dogs. The staff especially the front desk receptionist were outright rude and acted completely unprofessional, they gave me the feeling that I was bothering them and that they didn't want my business nor seem to care about my dogs or that I was a paying client. I however recently had an emergency and decided to bite the bullet and go back to Calabasas Animal Clinic and to my surprise I discovered that they are now under new management and I couldn't be happier. They took care of my dog and from the moment I stepped in the door gave me a sense that I was in good caring hands. Much love for the new staff they are AMAZING!!!! My prayers have been answered and now I have a place near home that I can go to and know my animals will be taken care of. Read Less

I tried to be fair and not yelp, but after the Dr. not really giving me much other than a small indigestion, try tried to rack up over 900.00 on charges for the suggested treatment needed. I had the gut feeling that the doctor didn't fully know what she was doing...considering I had to point out other items that were concerning to me. She was a bit spacey. Not to mention an ear cleaning was 45 dollars...really?I was willing to let it be, but this was what made it yelp worthy: I discovered my dog may have eaten one of my 9 month olds sock. So I called the office and asked if the doctor could give me a laxative for the dog. Simple right? I mean...I can get some online for 5-15 bucks, but I wanted to see if there was any redemption here. So the doctor told the front desk that she would need to give him another exam to prescribe a laxative. Wow...really? It's like a shady mechanic shop, but for pets. How did it get the 4.5 star rating? Apparently there were some legitimate doctors that worked and opened this place before it was sold down the river. Please do your homework and pay attention. I'm fairly sharp and I got taken for. Under 100 bucks, but still. I could have spent that on a legit animal clinic. Don't come here. Watch what happens to this place over the course of the next year. With its current leadership, the outlook is grim.Oh I almost forgot! She was very timid around my dog. Afraid that she was going to get bit. Again, I should have known by the lack of experience. As of 6/1/17,  the Calabasas Animal Clinic is under new ownership and they did not retain ANY of the front desk staff, technicians, or Dr. Ravenscroft.    For the last 2 years, I've been bringing my dog Smudge here for daycare and medical treatment, and I could not have been happier with the care he received under the old management.  In addition to discharging the people who ran this clinic for so many years, the new owners also appear to be carrying on as if there was no material change in the operation of this clinic, which seems deceptive and arrogant (i.e. their website shows no indication of any disruption to the staff or clinic).  I would never leave my pet with someone if I felt they lacked good judgment. I certainly do not trust the new clinic based on their abrupt, unprofessional transition process and their complete disregard for the previous staff's knowledge of the practice and the pets.  Failing to retain the staff is not only a terrible business decision because of the lost intellectual capital, it's horribly disrespectful to the people who cared so well for our pets during the 20+ years that they served Calabasas, and it's a slap in the face to their clientele.  I will never bring my dog here again. If you have a very sick animal don't ever take it to the Calabasas Animal Clinic. After two days of treatment the vet ran out of a treatment plan and suggested her colleague Dr. Ram would put his ideas into my cat's treatment option, but he never called me although I called him twice .Unprofessional, uncaring vet. Took my kitty to VCA Veterinary Clinic who after a two day treatment released my cat to me with instructions to give every day IV fluids and a medicine which my husband still remembered how to do. Why could, after two day treatment, the Calabasas Animal Clinic not achieve the same results and I paid that office over $1000. Don't EVER go there is you have a sick pet. Brigitte Fayyad Read Less

I am super happy to live near the most loving and professional animal clinic. I just moved into Malibu Canyon and was nervous for my dogs having to go to a new Vet.   Dr Ram is extremely kind,as well as an outstanding Dr. The staff is beyond caring and understanding. My big dogs were terrified, and it wasn't easy for me and the staff. After the Dr did the check ups, I had to leave them for the grooming (that was hard) when I returned a few hours later, my "big baby dogs" where super happy and they became friends with the clinics cat, my dogs friends with a cat??? That was a big surprise!!! They obviously know what they're doing and you can see they truly care about animals. It's nice to feel comfortable when going to a new place of business, especially when it's a personal service :) Read Less
