I had a bad experience at my first appointment at this office. When I posted that I was unhappy, the office manager responded in a thoughtful, honest way. She offered to speak to me about the situation, so we spoke over the phone. She was very friendly and dedicated to making the situation right. Bring your pet here and expect to be treated like FAMILY.  We've been taking our lab/pittie mix, Maggie, to Dr. Battier's office for over 7 years now.  We come here A LOT --- not only for annual exams and the occasional boo-boo, but also every month.  Long story short, Maggie has abnormal anal glands and must get them expressed (aka squeezed) regularly every few weeks.Dr. Battier has a comforting bedside manner, which is definitely appreciated when you're in a place that your dog clearly does not want to be at.  Pets can sense the energy in a room, and Dr. Battier's calmness always sets Maggie at ease.  You feel like a top priority during each visit.  Ask all the questions necessary because she takes her time to cover everything during your appointment.If there is one minor suggestion for improvement, I wish they would move to digital records.  All the notes here are handwritten.  And when you have a dog that's been coming for years, the file becomes super thick and a bit inefficient to flip through when evaluating history.The staff here is WONDERFUL.  I have noticed some turnover throughout the years, which is a bummer since we've gotten to know some of the techs very well.  That said, each time there is a new staff member, they are just as caring and friendly.There are park benches inside the waiting area and also one outside the front door, so plenty of seating!  Unfortunately, Maggie is not dog-friendly --- if there is another dog around, the staff always accommodates our situation and either brings Maggie in through a side door, or signals us that the coast is clear when the other dog has been brought in to a patient room.Good to know = Plenty of grass areas for your pet to do its business beforehand or afterwards!Location is on Las Posas Rd, nearby the Police Department.  Look for the same business park as Coastal Dermatology and Money Pancho. Went in last Saturday (a little before they opened) without an appointment as my beautiful Pom was having seizures.   Though they didn't have a doctor on duty that day, the two ladies working were very kind and helpful as I was out of my mind worried and crying.  One quickly helped me with my second dog while the other hopped on the phone to find somewhere local that could see my Queen quickly.  They found somewhere else, helped me get both dogs back in the car and sent me off.  I am very thankful for their help and care.Ps: Ladies if you're reading this, she did wind up passing away about 15 minutes after I got to the other vet  I do sincerely appreciate your kindness and attempt to assist. My American Bulldogs original vet retired last year. So I yelped this vet with 5 stars all the way across the board. So we went to check her out because my dog was sick for about a week. She couldn't eat or drink etc. The staff was very friendly but unfortunately Dr Barttier wasn't too personable with my sick pup. She stood away from a distance and asked me to put a muzzle on her. Understandable because my dog is fairly intimidating. But your a vet right? There shouldn't be any hesitation. 1st test fail! In my book. 2nd, my dog was having a discolored saliva hanging out of her mouth, she avoided that. She couldn't figure out what's wrong with her so they took blood test. Not a full panel test but one of those 24 hr results type. All though her advertised blood work via phone said otherwise. Supposed to get results within 20 minutes!! So what kind of blood work did they really give my dog?? Her temperature was at a steady 104. I explained everything that was wrong with my dog. I felt ignored and disregarded. It was a short 5 minute visit and just slapped antibiotics and Iv fluids to take home @$363 later. I had to call and find out her results! Because her condition was worsening. Still no results!!! I was starting to panic because she wasn't getting any better so we took her into ER, they couldn't help her till her blood work comes in. Dr Barttier finally called me back 2 days later!!!!! About the result saying my dogs fighting a virus and still not sure what it is. And if she's still not getting better to just bring her in. So I called and they said they're BOOKED?!!! And they're not able to see her! So off to ER we go. Long story short! Maybeline at only 4 years old passed away within 3 days of non sense of Dr Battiers ignorance. From what the doctor at the er said what she had was easily preventable and that she was misdiagnosed. Maybeline was sicker than they all thought!!! Maybeline was everything to our family and her passing a huge loss to us. Never will ever take my future dogs to this place. All they care about is money! Not your dog. Read Less

This vet is the BEST. I had a Maltese who was my baby girl. I took her to PetSmart who is affiliated with Banfield pet hospital and when I dropped her off for grooming they put her in the top kennel without locking the door properly. My baby girl who was 7 years old but only 4 pounds leaned on the kennel door which was stacked 6 feet off the ground and the door opened and she fell head first. She was rushed to the hospital and was having seizures. 2 days later she was released from the hospital and PetSmart/Banfield refused to pay for it. For the next 5 years she was in and out of the vet and on seizure medication which I had to pay for out of my pocket. I went to several different vets looking for someone who cared and was reasonably priced but never really found anyone good. Finally my baby had a seizure that forced me to send her to heaven. I swore after all the pain me and my baby went through I would not get another pet but then another little girl crossed my path and I was in love!!!Now I have a 2 year old Yorkie who has been having allergy issues so I found Dr. Battier. She is the best and trust me I have seen many. What I love about Dr. Battier:1. She is very caring2. She has a great staff3. She will always try to squeeze you in4. Pippa and I enjoyed our first experience here. We were referred  by a friend , my other Vet is partially retired and we just can't get in when it's convenient for me.I have been planning this for months so timing was important to me to get my new puppy seen. I have been dog less for 6 years.  Pippa is 7 1/2 weeks we were put in a room right away. The office was very clean.  Dr B was very nice and spoke in language I understood. They also have a discounted puppy program package. That really made things right for me . We received complementary food, advantage and a special file folder with a bunch of information on your puppy, this will help me keep all my important papers organized for Pippa.After labs came back I spoke directly with both veterinarians from this office. I had been going to the same Vet for 14 years, but some negative experiences caused me to leave. Dr. Battier was highly recommended to me because she utilizes Western and Holistic practices. I feed my dogs a raw food diet and not many vets are open to this (the reason I left my previous Vet of 14 years). My dogs are healthy, blood work comes back great and they are thriving after nearly 3 years on raw. The staff at Dr. Battier's clinic are amazing. Always helpful, friendly and knowledgeable. My only complaint would be that it is a small office with only two rooms....but, I just found out the other day that they are expanding....so I guess that is not an issue pretty soon!! The Dr. Is very nice and knowledgeable. Many people dont realize thats It's not always about the veterinarian, most of the time we as pet owners have to deal with the staff too. If the staff is as compassionate and nice as the veterinarian then the overall experience does wonders for your pet and us the owners. I highly recommend this office. First let me explain. We moved to Camarillo 2 years ago. We decided to go here. Our Dog was a friendly full of life guy. He wasn't a fan of going to the Vet, but we never had a problem at our other Vet. This place treated our dog like he was viscous. (I understand maybe for their "safety") Anyways, about two months ago our furry friend had trouble walking. We took him in to get checked out. They took X-rays and "test" charged me $500 gave him medicine and sent him home with no answers. A couple weeks went by and His walking continued to get worse. I called them back and they referred us to Vet Surge in Ventura. There they took X-rays again and found tumors on our dog and took test to find Cancer. I'm still not sure how our regular vet couldn't find this with their "test"? Now let me add at no time did our vet follow up with us about his visit to vet surge and at no time did they check on him toMake sure his walking was better. Actually, the only time we heard from them was when it was time for our payment. And when they called they NEVER ask how our dog was. Strange huh? Today we laid out fur baby to sleep  and no we didn't take him to this Vet. My point is this; They Only worry about money, not about your pet. I do not recommend them. Read Less

I Love Dr. Battier and her Staff.  They were angels in the best sense.  I brought my beloved dog in on 12/22.  He was in very bad shape. When I picked him up in the afternoon he was in better shape and when I retrieved him on 12/23 he was in so much better shape.  Everyone who saw him on 12/21 was convinced I would have to make the hardest decision a pet parent ever has to make.  When everyone saw him on 12/25 they were amazed that he was doing a 1000% better.  The staff are compassionate and kind.  Dr. Battier truly loves the animals she treats.  Kudos to Carol of Concerned People for Animals.. We came to this clinic from a last minute referral from a friend after our current vet could not see our dog. We knew we were running out of time with her and had already spent a fortune at another vet treating what we were told was just arthritis with pain meds etc. one phone call to this clinic and we were told to come in immediately. One look at our dogs record and the vet realized it likely was not arthritis but possibly bone cancer. Unfortunately she was right, but the level of care and compassion from every single person we came in contact with was incredible. They truly have a LOVE for animals!!! We have used Dr. Battier's Veterinary Clinic for years without ever giving it much thought.  We have used her services for everything from routine checkups to the sad business of having to put down a beloved dog.  Both Dr. Battier and her staff have always been professionally excellent and yet friendly, kind, and understanding.  Her prices have always been fair.  What finally prompted this long overdue review is that our dog recently got injured late in the day.  We called Dr. Battier's office on the chance that someone may still be in who could recommend an emergency vet.  Someone was indeed there and told us to go ahead and bring in our dog.  They stayed late to staple up his wound without any complaint whatsoever.  I am happy to give Dr. Battier's Clinic my highest recommendation. I can honestly say I'm beyond grateful for this place. I not only went in asap because my puppy was sick but my puppy got taken care of like I've never seen before. After going to Dr. Thomas Samuel, well known vet in Camarillo I came to realize I had only wasted my money with him. He did not only almost let my puppy die but he did absolutely nothing to even see what might of been the cause for my puppies sickness. I recently took my 17 yr old Kitty to another local Vet who I think was trying to make money by suggesting surgery among other things. My kitty declined quickly and wasn't able to stand. She had a large tumor. She was like my child. I knew she was going to need to be put down and I was borderline hysterical in tears. After my last Vet experience I asked around and had a friend refer me to Dr. Battier. I was skeptical from so many bad vet experiences. On the phone, the woman I spoke with was so nice and helpful. When I came in, they knew who i was immediately, I was already in tears. I got a room immediately. She asked me the questions and I told her the answers. She filled the forms out for me. The Vet was very nice & compassionate. I explained what was happening. I wanted to be certain that putting her down was the best option. She showed me why she suspected it was cancer and showed me where the tumor was spreading under the skin. She suspected renal failure. She made me feel good about my decision. We took our cat to Dr. B just because her place was closest to our condo. She is SO nice and friendly!
