Las Posas Veterinary Medical Center

Camarillo, California
General Info
Las Posas Veterinary Medical Center is a full service companion animal hospital. We opened our doors in 1992 in the Daily Plaza Shopping Center to provide the same quality veterinary care throughout the lives of pets in our community as we do at our sister hospital, Channel Islands Veterinary Hospital, in Port Hueneme. Our facility and services are designed to assist in routine preventive care for young, healthy pets; early detection and treatment of diseases as pets age; and complete medical, dental and surgical care as necessary during their lives. Keeping your four-legged family members healthy is our way of celebrating the bond between pets and their humans. We provide a lifetime of caring.
Our facility is equipped with an extensive range of diagnostic, surgical and imaging equipment, such as in-house blood analyzers, digital radiography (including dental), ultrasound and endoscopy, which help our doctors diagnose and treat the vast majority of problems as quickly as possible. We also maintain excellent relationships with a wide variety of specialists in the event your pet needs to be referred.
Emergency service is available through the day and we provide our clients with an after-hours medical answering service from 6 pm to midnight. Our sister hospital, Channel Islands Veterinary Hospital, is also open on Sundays from 10:00 - 5:00.

It is impossible to be this bad. I was scammed out of $300 (they tried for more) and WASTED over 5 HOURS here for a 20 minute appointment. I had an appointment to examine my dog. When I arrived there was one before us, they went in and came out 30 minutes later (so we waited 30 minutes past our appointment). They told me it would just be a few minutes. 25 minutes later I asked how much longer.... they told me at least a half hour. I am 99% sure the doctor went to lunch and bailed on us. I had to go to another appointment and so I left my dog there for her exam. They told me I could come get her in 45 minutes max. I arrived back 60 minutes later to be safe. I was then told it would be another half hour.... I was the only one there. The dr. finally came out 45 minutes later. So, we are now an hour and 45 minutes later (from when I was told it would be 45 minutes max... which was actually already 60 minutes past our appointment). Our appointment was for 11:20am (so they should very well know who this is). Just past 2pm (for an 11:20am appointment), the doctor finally showed up and said my dog needed Xrays and they would take 20 minutes. I agreed to the Xray and said I would be back in a half hour. I came back at 3pm (50 minutes later to be safe) and was told the doctor needed to talk to me about the Xrays and they would take me to her in a few minutes. A HOUR AND 10 MINUTES LATER I WAS STILL WAITING! My 11:20am appointment was now nearly 5 hours long! Finally I told them to get my dog and we were leaving, they said I could be next. I said to call me about the Xray. I know my dog didn't even need an Xray and she was fine... but agreed to it to be safe. They charged over $200 for the Xray. They also told me she needed an anitbiotic. They tried to charge my $140 for the medication.... I GOT IT ONLINE FOR $62. THIS PLACE IS A SCAM, A RIP OFF AND THE WORST SERVICE I HAVE EVER RECEIVED IN MY 45 YEARS OF LIFE SO FAR ANYWHERE. Oh yah - there was nothing wrong with the Xray... of course. They charged me $300 for an Xray and appointment that I had to finally leave 5 and half hours later because it still wasn't complete, and they tried to charge me almost $140 for a $62 medication. BUYER BEWARE! I would drive to Colorado for a vet to avoid this place. Add to list Edit Share Your Review Read Less

We love Channel Islands Vet. Our pugs have been going to the Camarillo location for a few years now. We started going to the one in Port Huenme and found out there was the same practice closer to home. One of our pugs recently passed away at a pet Emergency Room. A few days later we received a sympathy card from our Las Posas Vet offering their sympathy. It was signed by everyone in the office with nice thoughts. What a personal touch that shows how much they care about our furry little family members. Really showed how much they care. Our pug Yoda passed away at another facility that must have contacted our normal vet here. Really made a difficult time less difficult. Our little pugs love Dr. Anderson. Highly recommended. Thank you for your wonderful compassion when we had to make the very difficult decision to put our 17 year old cat, Jamaica down. Dr. Garrolini had saved her life 3 years ago when she had pancreatitis and she recovered completely, much to our surprise. We're so grateful to you for giving us 3 more years with her. We really appreciated the time you took to confirm her diagnosis, assuring us that we were making the right decision, and explaining the process. She went so peacefully and painlessly. I want to share with the Las Posas Veterinary Medical Center family how much they mean to our furry family. We started at their sister clinic near Port Hueneme in 1998. Our first two felines started there until we moved closer to Camarillo. By then we adopted a third kitty. Aladdin, Abbu and Casper have all been part of this clinic. A year ago Dr Anderson became an intricate part of Aladdin's health plan as he had taken a turn for the bad. A tumor had taken its toll on him but with a good combination of medicine and tons of love he made drastic improvements. Sadly, we have to share Aladdin passed away on Tuesday morning. We had been provided just enough time to say our good byes and share our endless love for him. Dr Anderson and Krystle took great care of our fragile family as we said good bye to our oldest furry family member. Aladdin was nearly 18 human years and the greatest Norwegian Forrest cat we will ever know. Thank you Las Posas Veterenarian Medical Center for being there for us. Abbu and Casper miss their brother too. Thank you from the bottom of our heart. Gavin, Shelley and Morgan.Read Less

I wrote something but it didn't "Post"! :) Yesterday, I took my 1 yr. old Pit Bull, Rachel, here as she had developed a nasty ear infection. Though I love my Malibu Vets, I was truly rewarded stopping In here on my way to another apt in Camarillo! My Pit is young and a real handful! However, this wonderful group took my baby girl, Rachel into the exam room. When I was invited to see what was being done as treatment by the excellent Vet for her ear, I found Rachel smiling away as only a Pit can smile having been hoisted up onto the exam table and the two wonderful techs laying across Rachel to allow her to feel protected and comforted! Even Rachel's tail was wagging whereas before I sincerely believed I would have to leave with her, she went into such a panic. Rachel was happy as a clam having her ear treated, given her last set of Vax and even allowed one Vax to be given up her nostril! OMG! As I said, at her age and being hi-octane Rachel can be a challenge. I am so happy to have trusted my instincts and brought Rachel to this wonderful Vet Clinic!! Will return for sure! :) Thanks, Regina Glauder, Malibu, CARead Less
