note: this review is written by gloria not David :::I was going to say "WOW!", but the 5-star heading of "woohoooo!" is even better! I needed a new vet, as I was having some issues with another local vet, which I won't go into, since I haven't addressed them with the other vet yet. Sufficient to say-I am soooo delighted that I've made the transition. I know I've made the right decision, as the excellent experience I just had demonstrated. There were so many special touches, that it pointed out ALL THE THINGS I DIN'T EVEN KNOW I WAS MISSING. I will try to recreate it here for you-so you too, will be enlightened.FROM THE BEGINNING: I called at 7:15 am expecting to get an answering machine-but just wanted to find out their hours-FIRST SURPRISE:: They open at 7am; which is very convenient for me-since so many times it seems I wake up to a sick pet and then I'm pacing the floor until I can get a hold of someone to even tell me if it's an emergency or not.NEXT: they took my info-seemed to "get" my problem and made me an appointment for 8:30....so nice to get in right away without having to beg! The staff that greeted me was warm and welcoming to both me and Willow, my standard poodle. I filled out the necessary paper work ...nothing too exciting there-but when we got into the room-Julie was so kind to both Willow and I! She took a SUPER DETAILED history-and even wrote it all down in the computer. this meant a lot to me-as at my old vet, the Techs were nice enough gals-but they didn't seem very technical-and when I mentioned anything about the history, the reply was invariably, Well, you can tell the doctor" Not here, she seemed genuinely interested in Willow's complex history and took the responsibility for documenting it very seriously.MOVING ON: the Doctor came in SOON-and JULIE STAYED!! The sole purpose that I could see for her continued presence was to help reassure both Willow and I throughout the exam-NICE TOUCH!! The doctor was very kind and gentle, explaining everything to me. He even went over a diagram of (sorry!) anal sacs-which noone had ever shown me in my 20+ years of poodle caring. I was in for willow licking her rear-end. When he couldn't find anything wrong with number two-he checked out number one just to be thorough; which I appreciate. He also explained in detail what was up with her heart murmer-but didn't suggest any extra testing (which I mention only because some have complained about their billing practices--I found them to be very upfront and fair) .In the END, I asked about their other services, such as grooming and boarding. Sandy, the groomer was so kind to accommodate Willow's special need to split the bath and clip into 2 days, as she is 13 and both services in one day is too hard on her. Sandy didn't miss a beat! I haven't found any groomers that would accommodate her-I've always had to do the bath myself the day before, which is hard on me, as I have serious health issues. EVERYTHING here was sooo accommodating-even the accommodations! They have a special place for kitties, so the barking doesn't scare them! ...and for a small fee, they will spend 20-30 extra minutes with them. Lets put it this way-I'm sure the fee doesn't cover 30 min. worth of salary-plus benefits, plus overhead! As a small business owner, I totally get that time is money!OVERALL, this place is incredible! To have ALL of the pet needs met with high quality, full-service care is sooo... comforting! I have serious health issues, requiring me to leave town suddenly --or sometimes cancel (or completely miss!) appointments. My pets also are quite needy-2 with cancer, 1 with Addisions (basically like kidney diseae) and one with nurological damage. Every time I mentioned a special need or high maintenance item I was met with warm reassurance- by Stacey-the Boarding Technician--as opposed to dubious exasperation from the well-meaning but obviously overwhelmed staff at my old Veterinarian.Like I said- "I DIDN'T EVEN KNOW WHAT I WAS MISSING-"! But now I am sure that I and my pets will be well cared for. Thank you in advance to Godorado.P.s. There patience and kindness was already tested: After gong round and round in circles, trying to come up with a time I could get my kitty in for a new patient appointment, we got it all settled. 15 min later-I got a call that blew my schedule out of the water. I had to call and reschedule right away-but the staff at Goldorado was characteristically kind and patient, simply making the new appointment WITHOUT any heavy sighs or thinly veiled eye rolls. Thanks again--already! Sorry for the long post-but getting awesome care is worth it!! Read Less
