I am been going to Pet Vet for over 15 years. I was referred to then from a very close friend who has been going there for 25+ years. This was the best referral ever. This is the kind of veterinarian office you hope to find. They have been there for me through emergencies, through death, through illness and basic needs of my pets. They sit on the floor and actually treat my animals like humans. They have taken ample am out of time to explain things in person and on the phone regarding my cats diabeties. I am forever so grateful. Read Less

My dog was having trouble with her bottom teeth and ended up having a dental procedure and was spayed the very same day, when we picked her up a very nice gentleman went over all instructions and then Theresa instructed my husband and I on the meds. One antibiotic and one pain med. For the pain Med, she pulled out two syringes and asked which one I preferred to use, one was long and skinny and one was fat. I explained to her that my dog was so hard to give meds to that the fat one would be best because I wouldn't have to pull it back as far. She proceded to show me on the fat syringe to "pull down to the 6" (my dog is 6lbs) so the next morning I did as she said and gave my dog the dosage as instructed. Later I called to office because she was breathing hard and fast, they said "dr is in a room and I'll tell him when he comes out and if there's a problem, I'll have him call. He Never called and I thought that maybe this was normal after anesthesia. The next morning, I decided to look for myself why two syringes were in the box. I then realized that I was instructed to give my 6 lb dog a 60 lb dosage!! I called the office immediately and again they said, if the Dr feels there's a problem, he'll call you. I asked that the dr call me immediately regardless. Several hours passed, Dr Brown called, said he needs to see Bella asap, she could be bleeding internally and be in kidney failure do to the overdose. He also states the he did not get my message regarding her breathing issue. My husband brought her in, they did in house labs and did not charge but they said they had to charge for a urinalysis because they had to send it out. (98.00) Dr called and said all seemed ok but he wanted protect her stomach and prevent ulcers and meds were 200.00. He also wanted to see her the following week. I bring her in today, he says he wants to repeat the bloodwork to be sure she's ok and I said great (thinking he wasn't charging again) on my way out, I had to pay 196.00 for the in house blood work!! Theresa would not even admit her mistake. I'm very upset to say the least, they almost killed my little girl and then they charge me!! I like the Drs but be very aware of instructions from the front. I of course agreed to pay for her surgery but I shouldn't have had to pay for their major mistake!! Read Less

Doctor Brown is a very good doctor and he has been seeing my dog for a few years, however what happened last Friday in his office was OUTRAGEOUS. I ordered 6 pills of Apoquel (a medicine for allergies). This is a very expensive medicine, $3 a pill. They charged me $28 because they added $10 for the refill. $10 extra for a refill of SIX pills, SIX SECONDS of work! When I complained, Dr. Brown came to the front desk and without asking me anything, his first words were: Do you own a business? So do not teach me how to make profit in my business. Being a loving pet mama, I looked into a multitude of veterinarians to care for my 9 year old Maltese, Lex. The week of December 20th, my Maltese became noticeably off balance and would not respond to his name. Living in Porter Ranch, I thought he was affected by the gas leak.I was recommended by a friend to Pet Vet. The holiday weekend made it difficult to visit most vet offices. I went in on the 28th of December. Dr. Taketani was the one I spoke with and administered a blood test. The gas leak didn't affect him, luckily, but his teeth needed removing. I was given an appointment time on the next day! It was really short notice, but worked with my schedule. On the 29th, I came back in the morning with Lex, and picked him up around 1730.After care was simple & they were patient with my multitude of questions. Read Less

I took my dog to Dr. Brown for the first time about 8 months ago for a check up. I wanted to find a good vet to take our animals to and wasn't crazy about the other two vets that I had tried before with our other animals. He was great with our dog on that visit. This week our dog had what looked to be a bite, but it didn't seem infected and it didn't bother him when I was touching it trying to find out what was going on. He also had an injury on his foot. I took him in and the place was very busy and short staffed. I thought I would have to wait-emergencies happen. I was seen earlier than my scheduled time. The vet discovered that the lump on the side of our dog was a parasite(a worm!)-made a small incision and pulled it out-(YUCK) and said that would heal-it has already. He also discovered that our dog had broke off his back toe nail. He said the nail would grow out, keep him inside. As opposed to having a surgery and removing the nail and returning every 4-5 days to have the dressing changed. He also added that it would be very painful. He gave him antibiotics, a shot of antibiotics and some spray for his nail to prevent infection, inflammation and numb it a bit to make him more comfortable. Our dog is now doing great. This just happened yesterday! The charge with meds-$150.00-VERY REASONABLE. a GREAT VET. HE HANDLED OUR DOG VERY WELL-gently and kept talking to him-Since he was scared and in pain-he got a bit snappy, requiring a muzzle.

Read Less

They also open 15 minutes late than what they supposed to. Anyway, you can't beat the price. $12 per veccination on Sat is really cheap. Read Less

I found Dr. Brown and his clinic in the Yellow Pages and am so glad that I did. He has now treated two of my feline friends and his genuine caring shows through, from the moment he steps into the examining room with you. He will be our family vet from now on. The site is clean, the desk and help staff are friendly and make one feel comfortable and the other pet parents that I have met in the waiting room have all been pleasant and loving people. Prices are reasonable. I'd recommend Dr. Brown and this facility to any animal lover. Read Less
