I see a lot of 1 star reviews and I am confused on why?!?!?! Let me start by saying I have been a dog and cat owner for almost 20 years. I have lived in, and visited vets in, Ohio, Florida, and California. I say this so you know that I have adequate experience. I have been going to this vet for at least 2 to 3 years now and have had a great experience. I have 2 Dachshunds and a Boxer and all 3 dogs see Dr. Sheriff, who is an awesome Veterinarian. Here is a little bit about my experience. My first time here I was recommended by a vet hospital where my male Dachshund was treated. He had pancreatitis and we were extremely worried about his condition. The hospital wanted more money than we could afford to treat him. Value Vet kept him for a week on an IV. This cost us 1/3 of the hospital and about 60% of other vets. Our Dachshund made a full recovery.Because of this we started taking all 3 of our Dogs there for everything from checkups to nail trims. Then our Boxer started having problems. Eventually he lost the ability to use his back legs. Tony and Dr. Sherriff worked with us through every step of Tyler's MULTIPLE problems for over a year. They helped us with infected nails, medicines, and more. The one time I had a problem it was due to a billing issue that ended up being a miscommunication and something I misunderstood. Instead of creating a problem over the issue, Tony waived the fee in question. Then, this past April, the time came that all pet owners dread. Tyler was beginning to suffer and needed to be put to sleep. Tony and Dr. Sherriff were not only very sensitive and accommodating to the situation; I was given a discount to help ease the situation. Granted I had been there a lot with Tyler and was there every couple weeks getting meds, but Tony did not have to do this. The price was the price, but he did what he could to help a horribly sad situation and we were extremely grateful. Since then my 2 Dachshunds have been back for check-ups, blood test, nail trims, and gland expulsions. Now I do understand people are frustrated with the wait sometimes. I have been there for 2 plus hours before, but they are a good vet with good prices. That is going to happen sometimes. There are other times though that I am in and out in well under an hour. Honestly though, this has happened at most vets I have been too. I mean if you think about it, if they were not good, why would they be busy most of the time? I have recommended Value Vet in Canoga Park to my friends and I recommend it to you!!!! Bring your pet in for a check-up and give them a try!!!! Read Less
