Last Friday was a very tough day, saying goodbye to our Great Dane, Drey. Our vet is actually Stevenson Ranch Veterinary but they were booked up so I called Golden State knowing they are connected. They had time for us and knowing the situation, they were so compassionate. When we arrived they lead us into a room where they had a bed and a blanket for Drey. They explained everything, gave us all the time we needed and hugged us as we were leaving. (Dr. Fox, Summer, Stephanie and Rebekah, I cannot thank you enough for your kindness in such an emotional situation.) They even sent us a sympathy card in the mail. Now, remember, this was our first experience there. They had not met us or our dog before, and because of that, I highly recommend this wonderful Vet. There is a reason "Care" is in their name. Don't waste your time. They wouldn't provide an estimate over the phone for a puppy spay until after you pay the initial visit fee (50$). Then they quoted almost 500$, not including meds or the cone, which is pretty high for the area for a puppy. There are plenty of other vets in the SCV with more ethical business practices. Read Less

We took our dog in on a walk-in basis on a Saturday, and they fit us in, no problem. The tech was very friendly, and when we told her that our dog was people friendly, but not animal friendly, she noted it in her chart for future reference. The tech held our dog during the whole exam with Dr. Pope, and whispered to her the whole time. Dr Pope was so friendly and caring, and we felt the exam was very thorough. We felt like everything done was exactly what was needed - not too much or too little, and we were told beforehand how much it was going to cost. Dr. Pope called us as soon as the labs were in what the diagnosis was, and was very thorough about the diagnosis. She explained everything thoroughly and really put us at ease. We also received a card just a couple of days after our first visit. We will definitely be returning to Dr. Pope from now on! Read Less

We found Dr. Pope in Castaic!!!!We have been going to Stevenson Ranch since it opened and now find she has opened another clinic with the same caring philosophy. I've had an itchy dog for weeks!! Constantly itching and pulling her fur out! She's a hypoallergenic dog that doesn't shed too and have had fur all over my house and not to mention how annoying to hear your dog itch allll night long. Took her to Golden State Veterinary Care inc. in castaic yesterday. They put her on some medicine and she has already stopped her itching! . Staff was amazing there and the vet was extremely nice. Everyone that works here is so caring and helpful. They all helped me on one of the hardest days of my life. Our Lilly had to be put down due to a long illness. Summer, the Vet. Tech, was so sweet and understanding. The Dr., Jeanette, was also the best, patient, understanding and companionate. I could never thank them enough. This is a vetrenarian in Castaic that I found through Goole. When you have 7 dogs and 3 cats you need a small animal vet nearby. We used to live in Sherman Oaks. My mini poodle mix Maude had a growth on her rear paw that was causing her pain and making her limp. We started her on antibiotics and pain meds and she seemed to be getting better, then she was limping again.So I decided the growth needs removal.
